My preferred method for managing layers in xrefs is to use the LAYOFF command to turn off the layer in question then open the Layer Manager, click on the top of the Off pattern and it will bring that layer to the top of the list where I can make the changes I need to.
Hi Brandon.Thank you for your tips and tricks. Before i learned that it is possible to change xref"s layers colors for each layout, i turned all of them to grey color in model. Is it any way to return back the original colors of xref"s layers (exept of reinsert the xref)?
So this drives me crazy, I am new to Autodesk, and I am using Autodesk Trueview, HOW DO YOU ADD A COMMAND? I been looking and google with out luck, when I click on the command field..nothing happens, when I press enter, nothing happens, when I click spacebar nothing happens...

Never used the search function in the Design Center - great tip. Also enjoyed tip on isolation entities in an Xref. Thanks!
Another new trick for this old dog-- the search function in Design Center. Thanks Brandon!
Thank you very much, looking forward to take lessons from you!
