    Those control arms tools are great when your in a garage setting on a lift, but no good when using axle stands.

    This is my next job for the cmax, just had new tyres fitted and then 4wheel alignment done (due to massive inner tyre ware), which then revealed that the front bushes are near their end of life - 6 months at best. It does seem, so much easier on ramps, I would need to tackle this with axle stands only. I was thinking to replace just bushes, but again , not having a press equipment, your video and advice indicates to me replace the whole thing together as your right, the whole things has to come out anyway. Would you replace in pairs, if only one bush was needed?

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly 4 месяца назад +2

      I would only replace the one thats needed, you can just get the bushes but easier to fit the arms if you have got any press equipment

    Do you not recommend torqing the bolts with the wheel at normal riding height so as not to stress the bushings?

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly Год назад +1

      I dont usually tbh and have never had any issues but some people do recommend it

    • @Clicksystems
      @Clicksystems 9 месяцев назад

      It does twist the busy, shortens life of the rear hydro busy, what it does do also is increase the ride height slightly at the front.
      What you are supposed to do on these is tighten up the rear bolts, then put the ball joint in.
      That then locks the front bush in the position where the rear one is at rest.

      @@diydaly I did it but wanted to remove the tie rod end as well, and I couldn't because I didn't know if it needs to be unscrewed of just pushed out. Yes I tried pushing it out, but it held or tightly, so I ended up fearing for the treads. My bold has a hexagonal alen key slot, but it looks like I'll break my alen key or ruin the hexagonal shape. I wanna watch closely now.

      @@Fanzo463 the best way to get them out it remove the track road end but then give the hub a firm whack on the side next to it and it will drop out

    As per usual I’m late to the party. I changed both on my 2012 Grand C Max having watched your invaluable video. Odd thing with mine though. The steering wheel is now off centre to the right but the car tracks straight. I took to my local people who stated it’s within the figures. That doesn’t seem right. Any thoughts?

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly Год назад +2

      Id probably go for a second opinion on the tracking mate.. its quite common for new arms to upset the tracking / steering wheel position
