White Mountain puzzles are my favorite, especially their collage puzzles. So fun to put together! Pieces fit together so well. When the puzzle is finished, you can actually pick it up and it will hold together!!

Thank you! My giant pancake spatula is the best! Got it years ago at Crate and Barrel.

Ravensberger puzzles are my favorite. I’ve put at least 10 one thousand piece puzzles together and I feel the pieces fit together the best of any brand. I’ve never had any that had unusual shaped pieces like you mentioned in your part one video. I use 3 TV trays covered with white poster board for separating the pieces by color and put the puzzle together on a card table (just the right size for a thousand piece puzzle). The pieces of this brand fit together perfectly, so sometimes I hold them up to the light and if no light shows through, I am sure I’ve made a correct match. I agree with you that lighting is critical. When I’m finished with the puzzle, I like to display it. I don’t use glue to hold it together. My husband came up with a great idea. When the puzzle is done, we take another card table and place it on top of the completed puzzle (with the legs open). We then hold the 2 tables together and flip them over. The puzzle is now on the second table with the backside showing. He then uses duct tape and covers the entire back of the puzzle with it. When done, you can flip it back over (without using the second table) and it is ready to hang. I have puzzles that have been duct taped together like this for many years with no problems. I have 18 puzzles hanging in my family room and they bring back great memories (like who got them for me, where I got them, etc.).

Yes, Ravensburg puzzles do snap together nicely. I recently got a Springbok puzzle that was very poor quality which surprised me. They're usually good. Springbok has very irregularly shaped pieces. Nice idea for the framing process! I just wreck mine and start a new one :-).

I don’t use duct tape. I use a heavy duty packing/shipping clear tape. Duct tape tend to kinda get sticky after a while specially in a hot climate. I have done this on all my completed puzzles and so far never had problem with it

I don’t find Ravensburger don’t hold together when you are trying to move several pieces from one area to another. Schmidt are much better for this.

Never thought about using a spatula! That was a great tip - thank you! I usually use a piece of thin cardboard or paper to slide the pieces and move them where they need to go, but spatula will make my life easier :)

When the pieces line up that is a Ribbon cut puzzle. What you show in the video is a random cut puzzle.

This is such a wholesome, sweet video 🥰 I am still hunting for some good tips on lighting for my puzzle working, but I'm glad I watched this video. Very relaxing and just emanating kindness.
    Wish you all the best!

Thanks for the comment! :-) I find natural light to be the best, even indirect light. It seems to bring the colors out, and the indirect light keeps the glare down on the pieces. I wish puzzles had more of a matte finish to cut down on the glare.

Where are you based? Ravensburger puzzles in Europe (where their base is) is the definition of a ribbon cut. That matching cut you describe. The oddly shape pieces, you describe, are common in the US. In brands like Sunsout, cobble Hill, and sometimes eurographics. You can tell what it is most of the brand. And the oddly shape is called random cut or Smart cut. I have seen them stated on the box that they are that type.

I'm in the US. The Eurographics puzzles I bought had all pieces of the same basic shape. I like Ravensburger and Pomegranate the best. They have the best quality I've found. I guess I don't look closely at the boxes. I once got a Ravensburger puzzle that intentionally had an extra piece, and although I figured it out, it would have been nice to know *before* I did the puzzle :-). It did say it on the box.

Hello ma’am where did you buy your cake spatula from…very cool idea for an accessory to make moving a bunch of pieces without them falling apart! I am not much of a baker so I would not even know where to look for that!

I got mine years ago at Crate and Barrell. But here's a similar one on Amazon: smile.amazon.com/Extra-Large-Stainless-Spatula-Turner-Strong/dp/B075GXHVDL/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=1KPWSUURQACMN&dchild=1&keywords=pancake+spatula&qid=1629914235&s=home-garden&sprefix=pancake+spa%2Caps%2C248&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzRzM2TVJXUjFQNDc5JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjA3NjI4RlhYNVI1N0owMURKJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2ODA4NzAyTTVTVjdDUVlTSkVRJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Sorry, no. I bought it over 10 years ago at Crate and Barrel. But this one looks like it would work pretty well: www.amazon.com/Norpro-Grip-EZ-Flexible-Pancake-Spatula/dp/B00NO6QJVG/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Pancake+Spatula&qid=1615478090&sr=8-3
