Brilliant , I lived in Blaencwm in the 1950s and I used this line to travel to Maesteg most Saturdays and to Swansea on day trips, the detail is spot on, I wish that I could purchase it for my train sim .
This music should be known as "the Rhondda tunnel theme" from now on, I've watched this about 10 times so far,and it's absolutely magical... Well done 👌🏻
Another great effort with this simulator Ben , stirs the memories and is really appreciated , thank you , I've shared it to two other groups that I support , hope you don't mind
I thought about this as a novalt like train ride for years only one track like orean express love 😍 out thanks again Ben! 🤭 She ment a lot to you I see! 🤭
Hi, Im Lorine, a current year 3 architecture student from Cardiff university, I am currently doing a community design project fro Cymmer. Your video is really amazing and showing a lot of details of the past Cymmer, I am wondering did you use a 3d model to do this simulation? If that is the case, is there any chance I could access to that file? Thanks a lot and it is absolutely fine if you can't share it for any reasons. Thanks
Thanks! The Porthcawl Route is available via the 'Recreating Britain's Lost Routes' Facebook Page. I hope to get the rest out there sometime. But bear in mind that most of these aren't routes as such, just models of a specific area. The Penarth coastal route will probably be next to get published...
Brilliant! I’m looking forward to the day that I can cycle through Rhondda tunnel

Especially as it was also used on the walk-through of the tunnel :)
Absolutely brilliant Magical. Did the trip as a young boy.
Fabulous little video. This was the train we used to use to travel from Trehafod to West Wales to visit family in Glynarthen in the 1950's.
Wonderful memories of travelling the South Wales Valleys in my childhood. Thank you for your time, skill and effort.
If only Dai Will was still around, we could have called in for a cuppa and a quick tour underground at Fernhill. Thanks for posting this.
What a wonderful idea these clips are, if only video was available in "those days"
A lovely video Ben, thank you
Very nice Ben...it's certainly has the vintage feel to it .
Well done and the music is a lot better than the run of the mill RUclips music.
Excellent graphics. Nostalgia and evocative music takes me back to walking those hills.

saltleywsc Good plan!
Cymmer - Aberavon, and Briton Ferry would also be interesting. Great videos. :)
Matt Gibbs it's finding the time. Winter is my Train Simulator time. Summer is always tricky. I agree though, good subjects 😁
Wish they could reopen the tunnel
Some great videos Ben, are these routes publically available?
