The final look at the Merlo 42.7 CS Turbofarmer, concentrating on the comfort and cab Suspension. A different telehandler will be next on the list to look at.
A happy driver is a productive driver, with the cab, boom and seat all sprung think how much quicker cycle times can be = faster work = lower time spent. Result! Great vid again George, can't wait for the next machine to demonstrate and review!
Sound bloody noises in that cab, personally I like the Merlo’s as they have really good all round visibility, the feel of the hydraulics is lovely allowing for very gentle operation in tight areas and all the service parts are easy to access and the panoramic P60.10 that I drove had the best chassis side shift of any telehander ever built.
It's clearly going to work for operator comfort not bouncing around in the cab like in the older machines . But it would be interesting to know what they've done so the wiring harnesses that joint the now independently floating cab to the machine, don't fatigue the wires in one spot breaking them. Then things stop working in 3000 hours or so, I've seen quite a few air seats quit at 3- 4000 hours where that's happened to the internal wires flexing at pivot points they are tied to so they don't pinch. If the same happens with this i can just see it being expensive having to replace machine wiring harness later. If you buy this for the farm the contract from Merlo will probably say you got to burn those JCB overalls L.O.L. Thanks for the video, Take care
@john mcgee Experience here in Canada with the tractors i billed customers to take the stupid things out, and fix them because they are a bitch to get at in the cabs to repair. while half standing on your head jammed between the seat and the lower cab interior ! I've done Deere's, Massey's, and a couple Landini's all in roughly the same years and hour range. I did about 20 of them in 6 months at one point. A couple dealers mechanics said they'd done them before as well with the same problem. It's been a few years since I've done any. Maybe they changed seat companies or the manufacturers fixed the problem As i used to change the wires and reroute them differently.
Another great vid on Merlo and cab suspension makes big difference over long day. I driven JCB, New Holland n Bobcat but haven’t driven Merlo, might need twist boss’s arm.
Merlo do seem to be getting popular. Jcb 407 we had. Compact and v strong. Maybe a bit small for you but I liked them. Good luck on choosing when the time comes
George cab suspension on these are nice until they've done 6 months work. Cabs then crash and bang on the mounts along with chafed pipes and electric's.
The only downside to the machine is the joystick in my opinion as you are always having to keep the button on the back pressed and lets say if you have troubles with arthritis in your hands, having to do long hours in it would surely start to cause problems.
Would I be right in thinking a few years back Merlo produced a telehandler with rear lift arms and pto, I am sure I saw one demonstrating using a four furrow reversible plough.?
Ours is just over a year old, adblue has already given problems, it can barely lift a twig and it doesn't align the wheels straight after crab mode. They keep getting worse it seems.
It looks to be a very table machine with the boom out and up, I got a scare a few times in a manitou and find it very unstable on a excellent concreted yard
Wow as good as fastac now that saying something 😮would you consider a merlo multi farmer so you can use for alot other jobs with the 3 point links?? Are you trying other makes??
@David Davies I agree with you, high cost with bales aswell, if you add all the cost of diesel and time and wrap etc and average it out per bale it's a minimum of €8 per bale to make George has over 800 bales at a quick guess so that 6400 a year minimum
Bales are easier to sell than pit, they might be feeding all year round and if so they would need 2/3 pits about 15ft tall each and very long to get nearly the same volume as the bales

Cheers Mike 👍
Certainly could see the huge difference in the ride when it was switched on 👍👍
George I'm surprised that merlo has not asked you to do their demonstrations vyour a natural keep up the good work mate.
Nice piece of kit. Very comfortable👍good vid George
Neighbour who does our silage bales has 2 merlo one with suspension and 50k on a beef farm. Seems very happy with it running the wrapper and stacking.
By running the wrapper I assume you mean there is a power pack on the wrapper and starts the wrapper with a remote
@@jerryodriscoll3691 you can get wrappers that go on the front of the loader, Tanco do one.
Nice machine George, good video and have a nice weekend! Mfg, Jan
You too Jan👍👍👍
That looks like a right nice machine, it just fits the yard perfectly

From experience nothing beats a merlo CS for ride comfort. Surprised more manufacturers dont offer it

Very good video George!
Thanks for sharing George...
George forgot to mention how much i like your new intro on your vids Great
George cab suspension on these are nice until they've done 6 months work. Cabs then crash and bang on the mounts along with chafed pipes and electric's.
Amazing George what they can use Green Lego for! LOL ... nice job indeed. :)
Haha true Colin 😉
Nice one George. 👍👍👍
Serious bit of machinery 👍
Well, I was impressed with the suspension and I’m not even a farmer!! It must be good if your comparing it to the ride of a Fastrac George!
It was very good Trevor as you can probably tell from the video!
Nice bit of kit 👍
Might be the camera but if not I couldn’t listen to that whining noise all day it would do my nut in!!! Great video as usual tho 👍🏻
You would get used to it definitely after a while and forget it is there and I think the camera picks it up more
Defiantly the camera ours doesn't sound like that
Good video George 👍🏻
Great vid and great machine George but at the end we all know whats going to be your final decision.
The ford
Looks great George, still think I’ll stick with jcb though 😂😂 good video mate keep em up!
Good job George, I hope they at least sort you out with some new green overalls !!
Plenty of room under the cab when you turn on the cab suspension for cracking open a few Creme Eggs as you go over the bumps, just unwrap and enjoy!
Mmmm good Idea 😉
I run a merlo 40.7 at home can't fault it wouldn't change brands after using that it's a lot better machine than our old jcbs were
Got u george nice video
Pretty impressive.
re bonjour George belle vidéo comme d habitude
It's got boom suspension as well by the look of it.
Yes
Impressed!!
I could do with that. |My 30.9 does not have any comforts except the suspended seat which really squeaks.
Why don't you make clamp silage
The only downside to the machine is the joystick in my opinion as you are always having to keep the button on the back pressed and lets say if you have troubles with arthritis in your hands, having to do long hours in it would surely start to cause problems.
Probably a safety feature so if you knock it then nothing happens
try putting a rubber band around it
@@johnsmith-ub7vr or tape
@@Massey-ze3ln yeah problem with tape is when you turn the machine off you have to take off whatever you have on there to reset the switch
Don't know if it is the camera picking up the whining noise if not it would drive me daft
You would get used to it and forget it's there
Will you ever use all those bales you have, a lot of farms round here the piles just rot lower each year.
All our straw and silage bales will get used
Great video mate r you missing you fastrac keep up the good work mate 👍👍
I'm not surprisingly!
Did I see a clip of you with a case tele handler ?? Or did I dream that ?? 😂
Would I be right in thinking a few years back Merlo produced a telehandler with rear lift arms and pto, I am sure I saw one demonstrating using a four furrow reversible plough.?
Yes they still produce the Multifarmer, stay tuned because I'll have one of the big ones to see what they are like👍
That would be a joy to have on our Manitou... It's very stiff altogether.
Ours is a pile of wank . Suspension has played up from day 1.
Ours is just over a year old, adblue has already given problems, it can barely lift a twig and it doesn't align the wheels straight after crab mode. They keep getting worse it seems.
@@jackrobinson4101 is that the new type ones? Go back to the old ones like tom pemberton has, they're the right job 👍
Aye she's one of the newag ones, might be our last too.
It looks to be a very table machine with the boom out and up, I got a scare a few times in a manitou and find it very unstable on a excellent concreted yard
Was it an old small manitou?
And what did you have on the front?
Is the 2nd smaller lift ram for self levelling the forks/bucket?
Cool 😁👌
Time for a new pair of overalls perhaps?
I do need some new ones actually!
All the CS you might fall asleep 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Get a bobcat agri serious kit and comfort and hydraulics are unreal
Sorry George your not selling it too me..i prefer a JCB.
curleman haha nothing will beat a jcb but it does look good
Good video George, can you aford one mate
Good machine. But if you where given a brand new one or jcb equivalent for free. Which one would you have.
🤔?
Why the latest video? Didn't like the loader??
Did you's get a HiSpec tanker George?
Looks a good machine, but what are hydraulics like, are they as quick as JCB........
They are very quick and responsive 👍
come on george yes or no
Hallo george is the merlo Better as the jcb.i think is the same Technik.
The Merlo is very competent and is right up there with the top manufacturers.
Cab suspension might be great for the driver but will the rest of the machine get shaken to bits?
Do like a merlo
Wow as good as fastac now that saying something 😮would you consider a merlo multi farmer so you can use for alot other jobs with the 3 point links?? Are you trying other makes??
They cost around 140000 I'm pretty sure, that would take a fair amount of milk to get that
Yes Antony, got a couple more to try and I'll be having a look at the Multifarmer soon 👍
R us goin 2 buy one
Save your back from jolts, that's for sure...
U need a pit instead of so many bales 🤔
@David Davies I agree with you, high cost with bales aswell, if you add all the cost of diesel and time and wrap etc and average it out per bale it's a minimum of €8 per bale to make George has over 800 bales at a quick guess so that 6400 a year minimum
Bales work for us at the moment
g s gone to the green side.....no....
Stay with jcb
Y ye have so many bakes ur not going use em
Bales are easier to sell than pit, they might be feeding all year round and if so they would need 2/3 pits about 15ft tall each and very long to get nearly the same volume as the bales
We don't waste any silage or straw, it all gets used
George Saunders oh ok
creme egg r 2 George
Why are english farms so muddy
It's called rain
James Nicholl maybe because it’s been raining for the past 2 months
Feels like 7 months rain not 2 haha
@@Geeves8612 it's only rained twice actually, once for 40 days and once for 50 days
