Nice review! This company is great - I've backed Wildspire Miniatures from their first Kickstarter, and could see that they've built up a nice, vocal fan base there! The characters are fantastic and unique - they almost tell their own stories! And, if you're low on inspiration, the character sheets are a wonderful addition to the whole thing, with great little backstories to work with. Wildspire have also been one of the few miniatures manufacturers on Kickstarter to consistently deliver backer rewards on time, which is really appreciated - the price per mini at KS prices has been hard to beat, in addition to everything else - great value here compared to other plastic mini manufacturers, more than making up for the light detail, bendy weapons, and stiff poses here and there. Their PR rep on Kickstarter is responsive to positive feedback, and with the most recent Kickstarter as I write this has designed characters based on fan suggestions, with a lot of fun ideas making it into the latest set. Some of my favorites from the sets released so far are the goblin book-seller and goblins-in-a-cloak, that friendly-looking bugbear in a top hat, a nice large-sized dragon reading a book, a plump and spoiled-looking cat sitting on a throne, a cat highwayman with a pair of pirate pistols, a bizarre bear with sharks for hands (straight from the old-fashioned wizard's laboratory where owlbears and other wacky dungeon monsters come from!), and (from an upcoming set) Animated Kindling (a burning log of wood with arms and legs and a big grin on its face), Animated Teddy Bear, and Turkey Dinner Golem.... every set they've made has been packed with weird and memorable characters that should be an absolute joy to role-play as friendly NPCs, henchmen, sidekicks, villains, and monsters! Anyway, it's a great, eccentric little company specializing in a great selection of characters that do something that none of the bigger companies are doing in a world filled with the usual dwarves with axes, elf archers, angry muscly orcs, and other safe, stock fare, and the value for each set is hard to beat. My group loves them! Glad to see them getting some love in a review like this, and nice to see that it is a fair review, too (calling out the weak spots along with the strong points.) I can't think of anything I disagree with, and it's fun rediscovering them through the fresh eyes of your review :)
Thank you for showcasing this set of miniatures. I’m relatively new to the hobby and this set would be a great place to start populating my campaigns. Keep up the good work!
These look dope, definitely want to pick up a box of my own. Seems like a solid option for getting a bunch of minis, which is something I've been meaning to do for some time (plus the man in the bush, hahaha). Do you have any sort of affiliate link? If I buy some I definitely want them to know I heard about it from "Just Gonna Craft It"
