Going higher doesn't work in my area, I'm surrounded by higher houses and trees, mine cuts out at 1500 feet distance no matter what mode I use. This mod increased that by 2x to 3000 feet. It doesn't sound like much, but in my area, it makes a huge difference.

The official range with FCC mode is 4km, don't really see the need for the antenna if you don't also mod the battery.
Hack The Fap that’s 4k in ideal conditions. In urban areas it’s hard to get 1.5km without the antenna.
