    How would you find the percentage of a value that doesn't fall on one of the standard deviation points? Such as $177,645

      You can do it this way: ruclips.net/video/LawGu8Ovvus/видео.html

      I also have it with both the TI-84 or TI-Nspire graphing calculator, if you have one of those.

      You wouldn't use the empirical rule for that. Are you looking for the z-score?

    thanks alot miss
    but i have question what is the next steo after knowing percentile ? or whats it tells other than % of data falls under that percentile,i mean why we interested in percentile value ?

    • @MathandStatsHelp
      @MathandStatsHelp  5 лет назад +1

      There are different reasons for knowing percentile. One reason might be in a situation like a standardized test or a growth chart for a child. Knowing the percentile of a score can help see where you were in relationship to other people. Pediatricians use percentiles all the time to make sure a child is consistently growing at every check-up. This particular example was to help students in my class get through a specific homework question, so I didn't elaborate on the purpose. Also, later in a Statistics course, you will use percentage under a certain value to determine if values are unusual.
