Anybody who thinks they are ready for parenting is fooling themselves. Every day with every child is a fresh challenge, but it is rewarding like nothing else. And every now and then you have a day when you think you must be doing alright.
I’m 23 and my girlfriend let me know she’s pregnant. She wants me to work while she takes care of the kid at home I’m fine with that. It’s just very hard to make money out here for myself so now doing it for another life form will be tough. But I won’t stop for my future kid.
If you plan on having biological kids, I think it is ideal to start having biological kids somewhere in-between 25 years and 34 years of age. That is the generally age frame where people have been out of school for quite a while, developed significant work experience, and are generally more financial stable than young adults at ages 18 to 24, possibly financially stable enough to have kids; but they are also not too old and their biological child is less likely to have any developmental, mental, or physical problems than biological children of parents who are at least 35 years old. But if people want to have biological kids as young adults (like the kid in the video) or wait until later in life to have kids, then that's their choice.
Myself and wife had 3 kids In that exact time frame first at 26 and last 34 and to be honest we still felt young enough and we're barely ready, but I think you never are ready no matter what age
I live in a world where babies are always a good thing. You will be okay with a heart and mindset like that. We're parents 5 times over, and it's scary every. single. time. It's sometimes tough financially, but as long as we keep our sight on the long-game and our priorities, it works out.
I love listening to Dave's advice. How come alot of Americans have multiple credit cards, do they not look at your credit history/bank statements when you apply for your second, third etc..... ??
Anyone who thinks having a baby isn't a permanent hardcore decision is either still a baby themselves or just completely mindless. Obviously having a child is probably *the* most permanent and hardcore decision a person can make!
@Transistor Jump I agree .. which is why I don't insult people over these things. Reality is reality though.. just like saying: "Someone who steps in front of a moving train is either slow-minded or suicidal". That's not an insult, just a reality.

I bet he figured being home watching tv would be ok as long as the kid is at home too. Might as well go to work youngin if that’s what you’re going to do.
I’m not sure about 100% ready, but it’s better to be prepared. Having a kid in your early 20’s is just not smart. Better to wait till about 30 when you’re hopefully out of debt have a house and have a wife. Here you’re prepared but still maybe not a 100% ready but in good shape to have a kid
This is the Central Valley in California, I highly doubt the couple was married prior to conceiving the child! Also I bet the girl thought he had money driving a nice car with nice stuff...... she will learn.
CAN RAMSAY SHOW STAFF SEE THAT DAVE RAMSAY GETS THIS MESSAGE RE SHOW MESSAGING PLEASE- MANY THANKS: Seeing a therapist is a healthy step- not a sign of dysfunction. That’s like saying attending a gym is a sign of ill health. Some of the most unwell and dysfunctional people have never approached a therapist in their life. Some of the most unhealthy people have or will never set foot in a gym or equivalent. So an adult child not seeing a therapist is not necessarily a good thing and does not equal good parenting. You need to be really careful how you message this in your program.

Anybody who thinks they are ready for parenting is fooling themselves. Every day with every child is a fresh challenge, but it is rewarding like nothing else. And every now and then you have a day when you think you must be doing alright.
I'm 35 and petrified of having a baby.
You're smart.
It's simple. If you don't want to be a father, use protection. Don't be stupid and then call Dave to bail you out.
spaciousgalaqxy calling Dave is a smart choice. Quit calling people stupid.
I don't think he was calling for some kind of bailout. I think he just needed some focus and encouragement.
Scariest thing to me about having kids is being able to afford kids.
Well at least he is not 16 lol
Or 13 .. like my brother. 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@scorpion8rage what,thats crazy.
A vasectomy is reversible.........I know what I'm doing
Go for it.
No worries, Jacob. Just put the debt up for adoption.
I’m 23 and my girlfriend let me know she’s pregnant. She wants me to work while she takes care of the kid at home I’m fine with that. It’s just very hard to make money out here for myself so now doing it for another life form will be tough. But I won’t stop for my future kid.
Get into sals If you aren’t already

the every dollar app is not all that. tried it for a few months and the carryover to the new month sux. got rid of it.
I've never been to that world.
The second mouse gets the cheese.
Would love to hear an update from this man
I just found out my wife is pregnant :) am Christian but still feeling scared. But God will get me through.
I love listening to Dave's advice. How come alot of Americans have multiple credit cards, do they not look at your credit history/bank statements when you apply for your second, third etc..... ??
No, they just look at your income... with excitement. 🤣 🤣 🤣
I don't know what is so cool about being a dad at 22 years old.
She's 20 and he's 22 having a baby and they're in debt....that's NOT so awesome if you ask me!!!!
For real
Some people will never consider an abortion
grod805 Murdering a child you created isn’t and shouldn’t be an option
@@Schoondogg if you're not ready. 23 is pretty young
On the other hand, responsibility can make people grow up fast. Look at the Greatest Generation.
I just found out imma be a dad and I’m not ready at all I’m shitting my self fr
Why some people for a simple yes or no question go on to tell their whole life story?
Self-centered people do this.
Babies having babies....tragic
22 isn't bad.
Most start around 14/15 .. now *THAT* is babies having babies.
@Transistor Jump Conserning permanent hard core decisions, it truly is.
@Transistor Jump It is hard core since most get it wrong with dire consequences.
Anyone who thinks having a baby isn't a permanent hardcore decision is either still a baby themselves or just completely mindless.
Obviously having a child is probably *the* most permanent and hardcore decision a person can make!
@Transistor Jump
I agree .. which is why I don't insult people over these things.
Reality is reality though.. just like saying: "Someone who steps in front of a moving train is either slow-minded or suicidal".
That's not an insult, just a reality.
Good luck.
He said wife like they’re married 😭 in this generation, I doubt they’re married. Especially if he’s living with his parents, kid is only 22 having a kid!
Justine Chamelle it was a shotgun wedding
I thought the same thing! Dave assumed or was being sarcastic!!
Right
Way to young for kids at 22
Don't get why it's ok that almost every girl has a kid by 22 but when it's a guy all of a sudden it's "way too young" or a big crime.....
Good luck bud lol
I bet he figured being home watching tv would be ok as long as the kid is at home too. Might as well go to work youngin if that’s what you’re going to do.
Who would move from Texas to california...
Someone who lives with their folks for free.
An idiot... which is exactly and obviously what this kid is.
But he has time ... to one day grow up.
Scorpion the kid will be fine
@@daejonmoody3304 We can always hope, yes!
I wonder what Dave would've told me. We were the same age but our parents were 100s of kilometers away. I wish I knew what I know now...
It’s not the money it’s the sleep! Lol
You don't need sleep in your early 20s though
This was me two years ago.

Hey dude. I was in your shoes. I killed it. Hit me up.
Really? Why not? I have been a father since I was a 22 yo.
All of the bad situations are just dumb errors. I think you don't have to be a genius, you just have to avoid the big boo boos.
It scares me
*gooood*
Is anyone ever ready to be a father?
I’m not sure about 100% ready, but it’s better to be prepared. Having a kid in your early 20’s is just not smart. Better to wait till about 30 when you’re hopefully out of debt have a house and have a wife. Here you’re prepared but still maybe not a 100% ready but in good shape to have a kid
Deliver the baby at home and save $20,000....
He's got family support, that helps major -
bet he makes it.
