Arceus is firmly the strongest due to Legends Arceus fully cementing that as canon(despite that already being true people loved to try and downplay Arceus cause of one movie) but the creation trio themselves have some consistent anti-feats stopping them from being the peaks of the verse. They are certainly up there easy top 10 but others have surpassed them.
Nah the coolest lore was definitely gen 8 with legends Arceus.
just to make something clear, ultra necrozma IS base necrozma, thats how he was originally before having his light stolen from him, and "regular" necrozma is an unnatural state where he is in constant pain, trying desperatly to quell it by absorbing light until it stops, so it helps your point further that ultra necrozma is NOT the result of a fusion, its how it was supposed to be and was for millions if not billions of years already.

And why does having light make it powerful exactly? A light bulb has a lot of light, yet it's very fragile, and has no chance again a rock, that emits 0 light.
Light absortion doesn't equal to power. We humans have those things that absorb light, and emit some light in the dark. That's Ultra Necrozma in a nutshell, since it only absorbs light, not an actual star.
If anything, you can say it's solar powered in some way. Just like Solar Beam.
If it relies on absorbing power, it means that to attack it will deplete part of it. If its power can be "stolen", then it means we can't view it as a star.
If we start applying logic, and get rid of plot armor, some Pokemon are a lot less powerful than what people think.

So i've been grinding the hell out of DOOM: The Dark Ages (Ultra-Nightmate) and i decided to take a break and watch some pokemon stuff... only to get jumpscared by Enhanced Ahzrak at 27:47 like LMAOOOO. I thought i was fucking tripping major balls or something.
Gen 4 really brought the best set of legendary Pokemon out of any Pokemon Gen ever.

Also, Blaine’s Mewtwo that lost to Zygarde was stated to have genetic defects and be overall one of the weakest Mewtwo variants. It literally had a thing where it was tied to Blaine so anything Mewtwo felt, Blaine would feel as well. So if an attack could make Blaine faint, Mewtwo would aswell. It’s a unique form of nerf, but certainly worth mentioning.
As to whether prime Mewtwo could beat Zygarde, that’s up to conjecture. But the feat of Blaine’s Mewtwo isn’t a good indicator either way
Tbh I think Regigas continent pulling feat is severely downplayed as Regigas would also need the strength to pull continents (likely while in the ocean) while not destroying those continents. Regigas also being the only pokemon Unbound Hoopa couldn’t overpower instead having to throw his ring under its feet. And this is likely while Regigas was still under his Slow Start nerf.

Yes but this is taking actualy powers into consideration and giratina is the only legendary that can contend with palkia and dialga in that sense. Gigas wouldn't be able to lay a hand on any of them (or even several lower on the list tbh). It's strong as hell but continents (maybe) don't scale to planets and universes
Awesome list, it always hurts my soul when people try to put eternatus above the creation trio or even necrozma. I agree with what you said about pokemon seeming to try to make the narrative that eternatus is the biggest dog yet, and how it just doesnt make sense that he'd be above the too 4.
I always saw it as Eternatus creates infinite energy and Necrozma absorbs infinite energy. The lack of statements for eternatus is very odd though.

When time space clashed and no one could stop it, like in mountain Coronet, Giratina appeared to stop it from happen.
Eternatus has infinity power from its core, enough to distort time and space, but I guess this is normal to Palkia and Dialga. But a spacetime rift from Giratina is strong enough to cause both Dialga and Palkia go mad, this time it's a real deal and Palkia Dialga have to step on to prevent

@anish4651 Typically youd just look at feats but in this case you'll need the lore relevance as well. Because all tho Zygarde had been shown to do less, we know what his role is in the world. He keeps balance between quite literally the forces of life and death.

Giratina is my favorite pokemon because of its design and unique typing (And Shadow Force is just a cool AF move), but it's interesting how its story is written like Lucifer. I know that Giratina and Arceus aren't literally bible allegories, but I find the parallel too close not to mention it.

Though Aus' shadow is not Giratina, but right now we know that Giratina is Arceus' shadow so it could be potential something something to Arceus.

Sadly Giratina is not in the meta in mainline game, but he is:
- In meta in pokemon GO
- In meta in TCG, he has two different sets, one for physical TCG and one for online TCG, both are in Meta
- Volo (Alt) & Giratina in Pokemon Masters EX is the strongest ghost unit and can be ranked top 3-4 strongest of the game.
- In mainline game, it has one of the hardest boss battle (if not hardest).

Remember, the Distortion world isn't supposed to be Giratina's realm; it's supposed to be Giratina's prison.
The only two known, seemingly permanent-ish access points to Giratina's prison are both in Sinoh. They're not guarding the lakes; that's just where they live. They're Giratina's prison wardens, with a hotline to the gods and enough power to keep Giratina busy until its siblings and/or the big A show up to shunt the Renegade Pokémon back to the shadow realm.

This is why Gen 4 is my fave. Gen 3 were my first Pokemon games but Gen 4 real set the bar and template for what the Pokemon world has to offer. Before Gen 4 we had legendary Pokemon but there was no real Hierarchy. But with the introduction of the Creation Trio and Arceus we finally got that. The Pokemon Lore really peaked in Gen 4.

In your defense, Ultra Necrozma is NOT a fusion. He's only a fusion in gameplay terms. Ultra Necrozma is the original form of Necrozma, who was depowered by the Ultra Recon Team and kept in a prison for years. So Ultra Necrozma should DEFINITELY be on this list as it IS Necrozma. Necrozma is essentially 50% Zygarde, while Ultra Necrozma is 100%

@Alastordadeer But it's valid due to there being a rift in power that can't be filled. Ultra Necrozma (Which is well, his original form.) is pretty much implied to have even more power than anything below the rest of the top. This doesn't mean that Ultra Necrozma is a match against the rest of the Creation Trio, it's just that's how tops work.
If you wanted something more accurate, you could do powerscaling or something similar to a tier list which more accurately portrays the difference in power.
If in a universe, only I and a god existed, he'd be top 1 and I'd be top 2, that doesn't mean I am even close in power to him, it's just whatever was available as the next most powerful thing.
To be fair mega ray took on 3 God's and 3 legends so and 1 mythical so yeah take that into consideration and ultra space is kinda like its own cannon as some people think that arceus came from ultra necro so...

Pokemon Lore is very specific about how the universes were created, it says Arceus comes from the nowhere and was the first ever Pokemon, so to think it comes from Ultra Necrozma is just being delusional.
And in the Hoopa movie, Rayquaza didnt actually fight those legendaries 😂 he was getting beaten by Deoxys in early movies, but then yall really sit there and think it took down 7 legendaries, when we barely saw them in a direct fight, including the gods, who’s mere presence are enough to destroy reality… not buying it

the only pokemon that scales with the powercreep is mew since it contains the dna of every pokemon. It could technically controll attacks like time roar and spacial rend at tge same time. It should technically even be able to use Arceus power depending on how trustful the pokedex info is.

i wanted to add a note regarding ogrepon, as she is one of very few gendered legendary pokemon, this is because (I think in cannon) her species is a common species found in a distant region, and traveled to paldea with her trainer a very long time ago. so in reality she’s only a legendary through technicality, and is still better than some actual legendaries

I’ll be so honest, I haven’t been into the latest Pokemon in a while. So when I saw those first few legendaries and some of the other newer legenderies later on in the list, I thought they just looked like regular ass Pokemon. They didn’t even look like legendaries to me

Gigas maybe pulled continents. Terapagos scaled to rayquaza who's at base large moon/small planetary. Even if you scale down that ray, one percent of its power would still be stronger than regi.
@kylesmith9573 Regigigas pulling the continents isn't even close to it's best feat, since the creator includes the manga in this video Regigigas should be at least in the top 10. It was capable of fighting the creation trio in the manga that alone in itself is enough to put him at a minimum of Universal. Same goes with Darkrai.

@koltensmith3974 The Hoopa movie is non canon and contains to many contradictions to be considered properly. Like how a space-time rift appeared yet the GODS/CREATORS of space and time couldn't do anything about it. Not to mention GIRATINA couldn't do anything about it when it was show to be able to completely negate both time and space.

I'd argue Girtaina represents Quantum Mechanics and thus isn't just the lord of Antimatter (which is infact a misattribution, it was supposed to be Dark Matter.) But *all* matter, baryonic, anti-bayonic, dark, or otherwise. That and energy... and dark energy, and gravity, and all fundamental constants and forces, and all "rules" of the universe related to the stuff that exists within it.
This would compliment the dynamic with Dialga and Palkia, all three cannot create a complete universe without the other.

@brillywinsen6526 Not a bad concept, but the thing about Space and Time is that they don't inherently cause the existence of matter, anti-matter, energy, etc. They are the effects of the cosmic stage, the area for it and the sequence of actions that it will perform, but not the props and actors.
Giratina is who provides those props and actors, they give the play meaning and purpose.

As a big ass Rayquaza glazer and fan, 7th is very fair, I do think if you considered megas and other forms there are a lot of pokemon that deserved to be higher on your list. 7th for base form Rayquaza is fair. Ive seen some people rank Rayquaza outside the top 10 because he was caught by a trainer in the newest pokemon adaption. I do think band for band mega rayquaza slaps 100% Zygarde but probably not Necrozma. Anyway good video good sir I subbed

canonically Mega Rayquaza is probably not that strong as he's mostly been stated to be a planetary threat. He could beat 100% Zygarde, but I doubt he can beat the new Mega Zygarde in lore. Though Ultra Necrozma, Eternamax Eternatus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and Arceus absolutely crush Mega Rayquaza.
