Why Bangladeshi not like India :-
1. Interference in Internal Politics: India is perceived to have interfered in Bangladesh's internal politics, particularly during the elections of 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024. Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee mentioned in his book "The Coalition Years" about India's involvement in the 2008 Bangladesh elections. Additionally, in the 2014 elections, Indian diplomat Sushma Swaraj allegedly pressured Jatiya Party leader Ershad to participate, which he later acknowledged, lending legitimacy to the elections.
2. Border Killings: Between 2001 and 2010, approximately 1,000 Bangladeshi civilians were killed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the India-Bangladesh border. From 2011 to 2020, 334 Bangladeshis were killed by the BSF⁴⁵.(source- Human rights watch )
3. Water Disputes: India has constructed dams on transboundary rivers, affecting the water flow into Bangladesh. This includes blocking water from 54 rivers, which has significant impacts on Bangladesh's water resources.
4. Media Portrayal: Indian media, including dramas and movies, often portray Bangladesh negatively, spreading false propaganda and fostering hatred.
5. Political Remarks: Indian politicians, especially from the BJP, have made derogatory comments about Bangladesh, which fuels negative sentiments.
