Why would you power down the panel? Never do this on a gent unless required. Just stop the loop you're working on
Yes..you are right ..because sometimes power supply doesn't work when we on it after off.
So it's better to just remove the loop cable ..
Stop the loop, no need to remove cables. The amount of times a gent is powered down then doesn't boot back up due to the PSU being faulty
Test/Eng > Loop > STOP, then press Enter (F2)

again do i need to cut off all the earth shealth cable, or no need to connect the sheath cable because I am always seeing earth fault

Did your loop has proper return ..because T Tapping is not allowed here.
No you must connect the earth wire at the panel and at each device connect the earth wires together. The earth wire helps to stop interference on the loop and also provides monitoring for the loop e.g. earth fault when a cable is damaged and one of the loop wires (red/black) is shorting against the earth wire.
If you see an earth fault then it's the power supply if you see earth fault on loop? Then it's on your loop, connect loop diagnostic tool this will find the fault
Thanks for the information, I will like you to help me, currently installing new device, and it kept saying short circuit on loop 1and only six devices are showing if you find but you cant any device from the six devices you can fine, please what do i do rectify this problem of mine

Panel will give new address to all devices ..it will shift one more ..like 10 will be 11 ..
Should make sure all devices are in SAFE mode not SOFT mode before carrying out any of the work.

Yes.you can replace and..follow the same procedure ..as i explained in video.

If you dont remove the loop or cut or open or add...then no need ..if only ..head will be replaced..then no need..

@@1183Hrjust use the STOP function for the loop you are working on, though inform the building manager that all devices on that loop will be working until you have finished working on that loop.
Personally I'd stay away from depowering the whole system as there will be no fire detection until the panels fully restore.

What the hell are you doing?....step away from that vigilon .....never power down the panel,first get a download then stop your loop, install your device, allocate your loop ,get another download, configure your device ,upload,disable NVM,back up your loop and your controller then protect your NVM....That's how you do it....
