Unfortunately, somewhere back in time, professionals said that responding to every cry would spoil the child. Those children may now be untrusting adults. So sad. What about time outs? I agree with Gabor Matè. The message to child from parent "When you're having a tantrum and you need me the most is when I'm least available" Supernanny got it all wrong. Shaming a child is one of the worst things ever, I believe.
