Yeah, not sure how many they sold back in the day, but I doubt folks were able to listen beforehand. I bought it because I couldn’t find it posted anywhere online (though knowing this was long ago proven to be a fraud).
No, he is not Elvis. Vernon and RCA sued four people and at the hearing held in December, entertainer "Mike Conley Ellis testified his voice was electronically inserted into the recording."
I mentioned this in my description. Never heard of anyone’s voice being “electronically inserted,” and it’s a strange way to put it given the technology of the time.
That was another one. I didn’t go for that one even though I didn’t found a couple in a box of LPs I bought. I never listened to them and got rid of them. I don’t believe all these sightings. I’m even sick and tired of these damn singers that dress up like him and think they sound like him. Now this kid in the last Elvis movie farce is still going around with his stupid persona and a lot of these kids think he’s better than Elvis. He wasn’t even close!
So obvious this is not Elvis, I feel stupid even saying the very very obvious that this is not Elvis Presley. I do feel sorry for people who are fooled by this.
Yeah, in my description I note all the ways it’s long been debunked. There are a lot of these 45s still around, but I think folks must’ve bought them without hearing first.
To be fair, they didn’t claim Scotty or Bill were playing on it. According to what the record sleeve says, Elvis was hired to sing this song in Arizona in 1954. Scotty was alive and well when this record came out, if they’d used his name I imagine the lawsuits would’ve been filed ASAP. Now, that’s the sort of thing one could probably get away with lying about for a little while in the pre-internet age. Today of course it would be debunked instantaneously. Besides which, yeah, I don’t think anyone listening to this back to back with any Elvis record, but particularly something from Elvis in 1954 - which we can all do now instantly - would ever think this is Elvis.
Nope, if this is elvis, im the the fool. Catchy tune and a nice song, but not elvis, just someone trying to sound like him, if this was elvis his voice would much higher and alot younger, this is a voice in the 20 age group, which means elvis would be around 25ish and not a teen
It’s pretty catchy, right? But yeah, even if one thinks this sounds like Elvis, the circumstances under which he supposedly recorded it don’t add up. But a fun bit of Elvis-adjacent history for my collection of 45s!
Possibly an early demo, certainly not the finished article. Also, and most importantly, this is NOT his first recording if it is Elvis...the voice is too deep and more like a 57/58.
Yeah, while to my mind this has been pretty well proven to *not* be Elvis, the singer does seem to be doing an impression of late-‘50s Elvis. Definitely too deep to be a convincing 1954-era Elvis!
Yeah, even if it did sound like Elvis circa 1954 - in my opinion, this singer is doing a more generic impression of twentysomething Elvis - the circumstances under which he supposedly sang this make little sense. It supposes Elvis was in Arizona for some reason, before becoming a professional singer and before recording “That’s All Right.”
No
Pinned for others who don’t read descriptions 😉
Not even close! I can't believe anyone actually fell for this.

Thanks for the interesting information about how they tried to prove this was Elvis! Yes, I bought it, Elvis related.
Yeah, seems there were quite a few of these hoaxes in the years right after Elvis’s death! Most famously Orion, who was even on Elvis’s old label Sun.

😂Hilariously not Elvis!🤣
Yep, probably not hilarious to those who spent good money on this record back in the day but in hindsight …
NO ......this is Not Elvis
Correct, one of many cash-in attempts immediately following Elvis’s death.
A big not on your life from me 😂
Ha ha, and indeed from the world at large. It seems almost quaint now, but there sure were a lot of fraudsters in the years right after Elvis’s death.
It’s been proven that this wasn’t Elvis!
Yep, my description notes it
Not Elvis
Correct; as I say in my description it’s been pretty well proven that it’s not him.
Elvis my arse - more like Eddie Cochrane lol
Ha ha I love Eddie Cochran, and this, sir, is no Eddie Cochran 🤣 (It’s definitely not Elvis either.)
First of all, the sound style of the guitar solo is 60's and doesn't look anything like Scooty Moore. Only another Elvis clone, the real one :)

Agreed; if anything this sounds like an impersonation of Elvis in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s.
I like the song....but I don't believe it's Elvis!

Dit is niet ELVIS
Juist

fake
Definitely, I learned a lot about this record when writing the description. A fake, and not the only one in the years after Elvis’s death.
good song not elvis
Just no, no, no,no.
