On my 2014 Trax, you must raise the engine with your jack to get the lower half of the engine mount out to get access to the belt. It will not come otta there without lifting the engine a bunch. The Cruze has more room for it to come out. Hope this helps someone who is struggling to get it out.
Just remove the 3 bolts on top of the motor mount, and the belt will squeeze through the space, no need to remove the whole bracket unless you want to. Just saying
Very well done sir, very professional. In my Wife's Buick Encore 1-4 2016 3 of those bolts are TTY & must be replaced if anyone else is doing there own so please be aware.

Great video I have 57000 mi on my 2013 1.4 I decided to change the belt but I didn't think anything about the tensioner 4 months later the tensioner pulley is making all kinds of noise like the bearings are going out . It's a good idea to consider changing the tensioner at the same time with the belt being that all these things have been removed that's just my opinion because it happened to me the tensioners only 65 bucks for genuine GM.
But how did you get the enging to raise when you tightened the engine mount bolts. In the first part of the video you can visibly see the engine lower down as you loosen the bolt. Then when you show the reassembly portion there is like a "jump" in the video and the engine has risen as you are tightening the last bolt. Did you jack it up a bit >?
Not my cup of tea, but I still appreciate the professional video! If I recall correctly that was your mother's car and your plans were to sell it in Lue of a Subaru outback? If so I hope she enjoys it as much as the rest of us enthusiast do!
You have to support the engine with another jack, makes it easier to do and puts more weight on the other motor mount so there is less of a chance of things going bad
Great video buddy. Struggling to remove my wife's serpentine belt in her Buick Encore. Now I got it thanks!!
My suggestion here is to spin all the pulleys and ensure all the bearings are good before installing a new belt
my typical sunday therapy video :D. Keep them coming!

I'm doing this on my Encore (same as Trax) and was wondering if this was what I needed to do. Thanks for confirming.
This is why I really appreciate our 2 Toyotas....ease of upkeep....!

Exactly.
Yup, you got that right! Total useless pain in the ass for no reason.

There's not much on modern vehicles low tech. Lol
Great video! Very helpful!

thank you very much.
Looks like a Chevy Cruze if I'm not mistaken. I heard GM is hacking that line as well as the Impala in 2020. Great quality vid as usual.
Yeah. 2011 Cruze LTZ.
Hello sir I need to know if whats the specific torq for the belt tensioner..thanks
Thank you this looks like the same engine my Buick Encore has. going to try this with supervision next Saturday.
It is.
Did it work
Good job
Why did you lift the car side up?

Yes, she's been wanting a white second gen L.L.Bean for a while.
So is there any reason to lift the passenger side other than to make it easier on your back?

to get the hydraulic jack underneath from the front and raised without ripping through the air dam and bumper cover.
On Encore leave engine jacked up.....Not as much room to inner fender as Chevrolet. But otherwise good video.
All this to replace a belt??? Holy fuck!
Gotta love GM. 😂
i'd replace the tensioner while i was at it also.
Yo bro this same process on 2016 cruze
