Congratulations Codger - A Perfect TMJ. You set the tone perfectly at the start when you said "Don't think it should be too difficult". Basically you took out and replaced 6 bolts and some plastic rivets. In the process dropped a washer which took 45 minutes to retrieve, then after you had thread locked and torqued up all the bolts you read the instructions and found you had the wrong bolts in the wrong holes! You then had to swap them back over and reapply thread lock and re torque. In total I estimate that those 6 bolts took you 2 hours or more. That is a PERFECT 10 Minute Job (TMJ) as only us blokes can do. Welcome to the TMJ Club and let's get all your viewers giving details of all their TMJ's. The TMJ phenomenon could go Global!!

I bought a CBX at the backend of last year with plans for trips this year. As a youngster I wouldn’t have been seen dead on a bike with a top box, now, rapidly decaying and in my twilight years I’ve fitted a givi rack and trekker outback box and don’t give a stuff what people think 🤣 When I’m riding the bike I’m hardly aware I’ve got my pizza delivery box behind me. The plate you fitted is wider and looks more useable to carry stuff than mine, the givi plate is best used to attach your box to the bike. Thanks for the vid. Mates wielding spanners at a bike is always a laugh.
I enjoyed watching you and Ten Minute Ken (love his t-shirt) do this upgrade with humour. Your wife must be an angel to accept a motorcycle in the kitchen:) Dave
Great video as always, thanks. Just a question what rear pannier do you use? I have a cb500x and am planning some long trips this year, just have no idea what to buy. Any advice would be great. I have looked at Honda ones but I cant afford those. Thanks.
Hello, thanks for watching. I don’t have any panniers for this bike. I use Kriega soft saddle bags on my 690R, but like you I did not want to spend a lot of money on a so-called ‘budget’ bike. So for my recent mini-trip to Isle of Man I bought a waterproof, 60L rollbag for £9.99 from SportsbikeShop in UK and it was great. 2 Rokstraps and all went well. I think, eventually, I might get some cheap saddle bags, lots on Amazon etc, or a cheap version of one of those loop bags. The position of the exhaust is the limiting factor, don’t want anything that can melt if it hangs too low. But for now I am happy with my cheap Roll bag. 60L is quite a lot for one person. 👍

Hello. It's just an eBay job, £12, to try. I think it works quite well for that price. Just search 'motorcycle spoiler' on eBay, there are 1000s. I bought a 28cm wide version (at its widest point). Hope that helps.👍
