I play videos like these in the background when I draw. Since I draw a lot, I'm always in search of new artists with a different style, a different voice, different techniques, etc. I really absorbed a lot from watching and listening. Your work is amazing. You really lean into the detail when a lot of artists find ways to use shorthand or just block out those sections in shadow. Im looking forward to drawing to more of your videos good sir.
Aww, thank you so much!! That is really wonderful to hear. I do the same with videos. I learn so much from artists just chatting about art and the industry. I do have more coming soon. 🙏
@@jasonpaulperkinsart It's a pretty genius idea too. I'm going to have to print out some pages I enjoy and try to ink them. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you so much! I a big fan of sharing as a learn because it helps me learn it over again needing to explain it. Glad you like the videos. More to come.
Awesome work. I applaud you for still using Rapidographs. I used them regularly years ago, when I was in college, but I seemed to spend more time unclogging them than inking.
They can be a bit of a challenge. I tend to really only use three of them and I try and clean them after each piece. Granted if I’m working a book that isn’t always possible.
I don’t do a ton of my own character development but I have a few ideas kicking around in my head that I wouldn’t mind working on. Might give that a try!
that looks incredible, man. when i ink over blue lines i still see some blue left, which bothers me because i can't quite erase it (although i do run an eraser over it). but i try to leave the line i want which is sometimes different than the original artist. i should photocopy it to see the difference but the copiers are so good nowadays that they pick up the blue line.... which defeats the whole purpose of the blue line
Really the best way is to scan and use photoshop or some other editing software to remove the color from it. Then you can “clean it up” and reprint from there. It’s really the best way. You are right. If you are inking correctly then you will deviate a little in line from the pencils and that will always leave some blue. I personally like it. Makes it feel authentic to me but I understand not wanting it.
This was done on the Strathmore 200 comic boards which is pretty good stuff. I am planing on trying Eon art boards my next go round because I have heard good things about them.
This is a hunt 102 and 108 nibs made by speedball. The handle is about a dollar. The nibs are about a dollar and half each but you will probably want to replace them pretty often. Hope that helps. Check out the supplies video I posted for the products I use.
You are not respecting the lighting and line weights. Example 0:13 top left hand corner Batman face. Bridge of his nose should have a thinner line. Light is hitting it. Under the nose should have the thicker line. Overrall, you have too many deadlines. Deadlines means no variance of thick to thin, especially. When you are texturing. Richard Friend and Jimmy Reyes go over inking on their RUclips channels.
I am making more of these. They just take a fair amount more time. Sorry you dot like the reviews. Trying new things.
Take your time they are awesome

This is so great, thank you for sharing. Love watching these, shows how much time and patience goes into inking.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad these are connecting with people.

Radical looking inks. I just became subscriber #419
I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks so much! I have more coming and a few things I’m excited about!
Hello! I found your channel today and I'm already loving everything I've seen! Great work! A hug from Brazil, thanks for sharing your technique!!😃

This was fantastic to watch. New subscriber here, and I’ve been a fan of Greg’s art going all the way back to X-Force. Your inks are bang up great!
Thank you so much. I’m a huge fan of his and I’m always wanting to try to ink more talented artists in hopes to learn more about what I’m doing.
Exciting! Another great inking video. Would love to see some character video. Sketch and ink process. Maybe is too much but it would be great 😅

Another great video!

Amazing work, keep keep'n be blessed, saved all in Jesus shalom
This is like my dream able to add ''color'' to my sketch, but either it ended into a black canvas or turn into a horror painting.
It takes time and patience. Keep working at it! You will get it!
Amazing details! ^^
Thank you so much!
Amazing!
Thank you so much!!
awesome :)
Thank you so much!!
May I asked what paper did you use? I trying to find A3 size paper for drawing with dip Gpen.

@@jasonpaulperkinsart thanks for respond. God bless you. Im good drawing but my fear is inking and ruin the draw
🎉I like this ❤😊
Thank you so much!
Apologies but what pages are these from? 😲
Lol, I thought this was Greg Capullo inking batman.
Lol, That’s why is says practice. Sorry it wasn’t what you expected.
The 107 is just about the smoothest line around. Just not as flexible as the old 102 unfortunately.
I agree. Less line variations but sharp smooth lines for sure!!
Im so admire this kind of art! Also Im fan of comics :p
Thank you so much
Great video. Make more drawings like this, not the reviews

Thanks mate. Since I did this I have taken a few patreon classes from Richard Friend and Walden Wong.

Hahaha
Awesome vid! Subbed and followed on instagram!
Thank you so much! I’m a little behind right now but I have a couple more videos coming up soon. Thanks again!
the "dramatic soundtrack" is total arse. its unnecessary audio overload and why i did not watch this.
Thanks for the feedback
