Parking Brake Light Stays On. Yipes!

If the BRAKE light comes on while driving or stays on after releasing the parking brake, check the brake fluid reservoir. When the fluid level is low, there is usually a leak, and the brakes may stop working soon. If the fluid level is normal, you probably have a bad switch in the parking brake, but you need to get this fixed either way. If you want to add fluid and drive further, read the cap to see what it takes. It’s usually DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid and it’s very caustic, so be careful not to spill or get it on you. Do not drive with leaking brakes except in an emergency, such as a zombie attack.
