That was a far easier way to think of the dominant diminished than I had seen before. Now i need to get to my piano and try this! Thank you again, Jonny!
I have been playing the piano for many years but this lesson changed my life! You teach in such a good and clear matter-of-fact manner, thank you very much!
Even though I don’t play piano but I can apply all these on saxophone, the way you teach it’s really help to understand easily, great instructor thx so much.
This is the best lesson about Jazz playing by far. thank you!!! I search for such lesson for a long time. Finally, I believe I will be able to play Jazz some day, thanks to you!!!
I am still a Nooby but I took your advice about playing scales on every degree of the Major scale, and I'm getting a better grasp of modes. Just that knowledge helped with this lesson, and inspires me to continue on this path. Anyone that is new to piano and jazz really should follow Johnny's advice since it leads to better skills.
Thank you for this video Mr. Jonny! As a growing guitar player your lessons are very helpful! Thank you for giving these lessons freely! God bless you sir!
Your vids are helping me so much with jazz! I haven't practiced yet, but this makes me want to. I've known my theory stuff for a while but was overwhelmed how to use it, this video is solving that! Thanks so much for making them free to the public, much appreciated!
Thank you for uploading these videos I got much better at jazz on the piano. My dream is to become a professional jazz pianolist and thanks to you that dream will come true

Thank's Jonny. I've learned so much with you, and so much to learn from now ;-) I thought that the Minor Bebop Scale was all white notes from D to D with #F ... Peace ! Steven from Montreal
On dominant 7s, my teacher showed me the harmonic minor 5, I find it to sound awesome and it's easy (at least for me as a saxophone player it's easier than diminished in most cases)
Do you teach beginners? Or is there a series of videos we can learn from online or for purchase? Seems like a lot of your videos are for intermediates.
Thanks for your video ! It’s really easy to know and it does help me improve my scale practice. Can you tell me which app you use as a background tempo? Thank you :)

Wherr does the C minor blues scale fit in here?can you play it in all chords?
muy bueno gracias
Jonny , I wish i could play like you !!! :)
Jonny how can I play fast like you? Great video!
Great breakdown!
A bit fast for me🙁
C Lydian ... from scale's point of view, what is the difference between a C Lydian a G major scale?
thank you.
You start on c and end on c but then use a raised 4 or f#. It essentially is the forth mode of the G major scale
It sounds different because when you start on C and end on C your ear is not expecting the F#. So it's sounds like the Intro to The Simpsons
@@roncallahan40 i think i kind of getting it, thank you very much :)
