Such a wonderful and extremely underrated track in the iconic film and soundtrack written by Phil & Mark, that played such an important role, and memories in all our childhoods. The instrumental, the emotion and scene is a memory that I'll never forget from when I was a kid, legend of a film, and soundtrack.
Beautiful. I have seen the movie in theaters when I was a kid in 1999. To this day it remains one of my best cinema experiences (next to seeing the "special editions" of "Star Wars" in 1997).
2:35 - end is Kerchak's passing and Tarzan's rise to his succession. One of the few animated score segments that brings even me, a soon-to-be 19-year-old to tears. It was very immersive and very tragic. But then again, I smile once more at the slight reprise of Tarzan's domination over Sabor. :'-)
LazyPops I went back and listened to Wakanda again. There is a spot where that is played ... But they only use that little descending rhythm - and only once, too. That’s kind of the thing with music ... it’s a lot of math and finding patterns and degrees and such, and composers use a lot of the same tricks depending on the music because that’s just how it works(i.e using x chord with y note to get z sound). I personally wouldn’t call it plagiarism because the rest of it is different and that part is used differently in Wakanda than in Tarzan. That’s just the way I see it, anyway. And to my knowledge of music so far ☺️.

This soundtrack was Phil Collins crowning glory. Nobody can touch it. Well done, Phil.

Same here. I saw this movie in theaters back in 1999 when I was 11 years old and I fell in love with it and the soundtrack as well.

@@janeporter818 It's so cool to see that others remember this movie as well! Sorry for my late response! Covid-19 made my life very tough.

If you didn't know what you were listening to, you could easily mistake this as music from the Narnia series.
Kerchak's dead T_T 3:59
14:04.
4:40 can't help but hear this motif every time in the black panther soundtrack ("Wakanda"). Is it just me? Is such replication common?

Ohh-Yeeeah.
@ 4:54 is the exact same theme heard in Black Panther in "Wakanda" @ 1:41. The EXACT same theme. Coincidence? I think not.
had.

I don’t hear it ...
