Additional note... Who else could get almost 500 viewers watching a live vlog, when all they could see was a black screen and an obscure red dot. The commentary kept us glued to the vlog and messaging to keep your spirits up and guide you to the safety of the lock landing at Torksey. Well done Robbie.
Glad you are safe. Thanks for bringing us along. Bet you sleep like a rock after you “de-edge”. Good of you to call your folks first. I’m sure they were worried. Take care and get some rest.
Having come across your series on BBC by accident, I was then hooked. A really lovely interesting series. I ended up binge watching all the series', and now currently working my way through your You Tube vlogs. Brilliant stuff. Keep it going.
Good to see you made it. Let's not do that again. When I visited the workshop and Retford club last year I asked their advice about getting to and from the chesterfield canal . I was told not to listen to the lock keeper at the basin . His idea of timing and tides was out. They may be right.
I must get a pewter tankard like that one! Looks like you will need all of it to unwind and decompress from this business! One can really see it in your eyes.
best content and nail biting ending, to me as a boater not so much but to non boaters it was awesome content with a fantastic story line and ending was perfect timing. brilliant
Hi Robbie, I just felt compelled to find you and say thanks for creating such a wonderful TV show. I'm totally hooked, it is such a joy to watch, i'm off work with a broken shoulder so it's often the highlight of my day & your portrayal of the slower pace of being on the canals is definitely helping me relax and stay sane. Living aboard was something I gave a lot of serious consideration to several years ago, and to be honest part of me still yerns for it. The series is such a gem, a real quality, wholesome, well made documentary, you've also opened my eyes too some great places to visit near Liverpool... So, thank you! 👍👍
Phew that's really good to hear Robbie - you had a lot of people worried there ! 😱 BTW, did you see that just before your battery died, you had almost 450 folks watching the livestream ? That's pretty damned amazing !! 😎
Pleased you made it o.k., years ago we got caught out, not in tidal water, but in a river in flood and we were getting pushed along at a faster rate of knotts than we would have wished for. Take care out there.
Hi mate. Wow watched the live stream back and the battery dying at the end really was dramatic. Glad you’re safe and hope you had a few drinks and a relax at the pub. Take care. Nick
Oh my days. That was stressful.Just watched the live stream before this ....I'm shattered just following on my ipad, hope a good pub session helped. So glad you're ok though 😃
well done robbie! may have bn a mad idea... BUT... you proved it was doable! now get yerself back together and recover some sanity! 😂😂😂 you deserve the great drinks and pub grub you had (i watched the main vid and this is posted few hours later! and no, i wasnt there 😂😂😂) i think us crankees (good name for the subscribers on yt! (well nutshell watchers are now called "nutters" because of me 😂😂😂)) are glad to have kept you company on the journey... all 4 hrs of it!!
Glad your ok Robbie. Just seen your video of you passing through Retford which is our home town. The pub at Torksey is lovely. We were the young couple on Rosé and Gin and met you couple of months back . We have since sold our boat but I believe you met the new owners in Doncaster. If you need anything while your in the area we are close and I drive. Safe travels :)
He's just been past our back door 😆 why don't you wait until he's in Boston 😂 Joking aside we are free tomorrow so let us know and we will combine a coal drop off/ Sunday lunch outing 👍
Hi Rob, been following you on the canal now for many years, I live alongside the Leeds liverpool in Litherland, Liverpool, I watched again last nite, seen you come passed by mine, been meaning for a while to get in touch, the Stars you passed by the broken bridge represent The Marram grass and how it was illegal to take it because it was a natural sea defence, another bit of useful information for your trip Rob
Wow! Robbie. You are my hero. I have never ever seen anyone narrowboat at night! Glad you made it safely to your destination. I watched quite a bit but not all...truly a white knuckle cruise after the sun set!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the live streams my man, brought some sense of life to me when sitting at a boring desk working from home. Thanks! And glad you made it.
Robbie, that was a nail-biting experience even viewed from my comfy sofa. Could you really see where you were going? I couldn't. Though not on a tidal river, I once got caught out by lost daylight just on the T&M canal, heading back to Willington, unable to see moored boats since little tunnel lights are near useless as headlights. Glad you are safe.
What a cliffhanger you left us with! Brilliant live stream, but don't do it again. Chill out, enjoy and maybe rethink doing tidal rivers or any rivers in winter. Too risky. Lol.
So glad you made it safely. Now go get some ale and a pie inside you. I really enjoyed the adventure. It had me on the edge of my sofa. I hope my guidance notes helped you locate the bridge, island and locks.
Hi Robbie Just watched your series on BBC4. In one episode you've limped into Nottingham and have engine problems leaving us waiting to see what happens. Next episode you magically materialise in Loughboro !
I don’t film everything you know! My dad almost destroyed it the first month i had it… Smashed the glass going into a lock gate. I had to roughly glue the wood back together and fit a new window. I’ll probably get the whole thing rebuilt this year.
Ahoy! Are you still along the trent? Was sure i saw you in newark marketplace today? Top channel watched from the early days and your travels worksop doncaster and the tv top work really enjoy it younger audience than tim n pru god bless

No i dont but from RUclips 😂 its a cracking town with lots of history especially the river and millgate, but as with most towns so quiet nowadays. The channels brilliant and real world keep up the good work keep cranking!! Hope newarks a good stay for you fella
Had to go out not long after the camera died and been fretting to hear. So glad that all ended well, and so pleased you did the right thing and phoned your folks! Really enjoyed all the livestreams this week - will there be any more, or will you be tied up with BBC filming?
Missing a Christmas update on where you are and what you are up to. Our friends are aboard theirs with Christmas tree, cat on board and lamb in oven......
Great to hear from you even though you have been unwell which i am sorry to hear. Look forward to your content in 2023. I wish you an early Happy New Year.

If you're ever in Manchester, on the bridge water, give me a shout. I'll show you one of the best pubs in Dunham. Love your posts. Tom
Cheers Tom I’ve been along that canal at least two times what was the name of the pub possibly visited although doesn’t ring a bell
@@RobbieCumming a little trek from the bridge in Dunham. Called swan with 2 nicks.. nice little walk through Dunham Massey.
Just had a look on Google maps, no pub games to speak of or even a jukebox? Bit I’ll bet it’s the people that make it 👍
