Our trip to Disneyland in 1974 is one of my favorite memories of my childhood. I really appreciate seeing this video. We lived in Nebraska so it was a very long drive to visit relatives. My mom made it very special by taking us to Disneyland. Thank you for posting this. ❤
I watched this in hopes of catching a glimpse of myself as a 7 year old at Disneyland in 1970, but what are the odds…? Growing up in Los Angeles, my family would have made the first of our several visits there around this time, when we had to buy those colorful coupon booklets required for all the rides and attractions. I miss those days
This looks to be around circa 1969/1970. I'm going off of hairstyles, dress and cars in the parking lot. I love how the Matterhorn used to look before they covered the whole thing in snow. Man...even those trashcans are nostalgic. My gosh, what the hell happened to that place??
I’m so confused. Their trash cans look the same. They are green, I believe. Same writing. The Matterhorn has had snow on it since it opened in 1959. When is the last time you visited? We just got back. So much of Disneyland looks like it did in the 80s when I was a child.
@@audacious6312 The Matterhorn is almost completely covered in snow now. Back then it was mostly on the top half. My last visit was five years ago. I was forced to go :)
@@audacious6312 Well, then they changed it again because for a while, they had it covered in snow. Sounds like Disney came to their senses. Maybe they'll REALLY come to their senses and bring the Peoplemover back.
@@audacious6312 I did some Google image searches on the Disneyland Matterhorn and I was right, it WAS covered in more snow several years ago and for several years.

disney at its best time, great memories
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I have more at youtube.com/@TheOldTimeyChannel
I have so much old footage I’ve moved all my old videos there.
I was there as a kid in 1968. My three favorite rides:
1. Matterhorn
2. Fake submarine
3. Monsanto Molecule
Some Disney rides are closed and some are open
Oh man, so many wonderful memories. Thank you for posting this!
Glad you enjoyed it 😀

So many bell bottoms and striped shirts 😆 Disneyland looked pretty neat in the 70s! Thank you for the the rare footage!
I notice a lot of people wore yellow . But I was hoping to see me as a kid with my mom

Lol the teacups def did move a lot faster
Sad I never got to experience any of this. Times were good.
Very cool! You know what you “don’t see” in this video? Wheelchairs , baby strollers, and fat people all over the place.
6:43 is that rock/cave feature on Tom sawyers island?
This was Disneyland at its peak. It's been downhill ever since.
Yes you are correct! And now they are in a downward spiral that they may never recover from. Go woke and this is what you get
Dialogue and not only video clips please?
What kind of dialogue? This type of 8mm film did not record audio.
