I have decided to do small monthly goals instead of yearly goals because I forget them and lose motivation easily. Great yearly goals for you. I look forward to seeing you progress throughout the year. Thanks for sharing.
I love your goals and your word of the year. My word of the year is CONSISTENCY. I’ve never done a word of the year before but I like the idea of being consistent rather than trying to be perfect. For my reading goals I am doing a Read Your Shelves challenge and want to try to have 2/3 of the books I read this year be off my own shelves. We shall see how I do. Good luck with all your goals!
😄 I've only set my reading goals for the year but I need to set some life goals too. Especially in the financial and decluttering area. We are all here to cheer you on as you conquer all your goals in 2025. 🎉
Love your journal, goals, and your word of the year! One of my big goals for this year is to clean up my TBR-too many books and so little time lol! I think you did great with all your goals, the year goes by so fast it’s hard to do everything! 🥳
I haven't picked a word of the year cuz I haven't found one that really fits but my big focus this year is Use What I Already Have. Read my owned kindle books. Use up the beauty products. Eat the meat from my freezers (venison, beef, and pork). Preserve my garden veggies (make sauce, freeze, learn to can).
Luv seeing the goals. Bad Penny's motto: Never do today what you can put off t'morrow. Lol. But, 2025 is the year of lists, tasks and GOALS. My word for the year: BRAVE. Stepping forward into new lands, spaces and adventures. No moss, no more.😝
I love your discussion about your word of the year and connected to it. I think Joy is a great word and learned the same meaning of of it as well as a child in Sunday School. I need to remember Joy as well this year especially on hard days.
I make my book covers by going to Amazon...click on the book so the synopsis shows. click on the book cover so it is enlarged. Then right click on the cover and select "copy". Then open a word document and click "paste". The book will take up almost the whole page so right click in the middle of the book and you will get the crop outline. At the top of the page right past "Help" is "picture format"..all the way over to the right is "crop"... you can size it with the down arrows at the right to whatever size you want. I size mine to 2" vertical and then the horizontal sizes in proportion to the vertical so it's super easy and they look fine. It took longer for me to type this then the process actually takes! I do a whole page and print it and then cut out each cover and just glue them in my journal. Super easy! Hope this helps! Zephaniah 3:17 is my very favorite bible verse! The fact the the Lord SINGS over me every day just fills me with joy!! I am finally use to no sugar...The Whole 30 program helped me tremendously!! I love it!
SUSAN! You are awesome. This comment is the best. Thanks for the mini-lesson in printing pics of book covers. I need to just try it. I probably could have figured it out, but never sat down to just do it. haha. And now I have your step by step directions. Thanks so much! I also LOVE Zephaniah 3:17. I don't pick a verse for the year anymore, but I should. I used to and that was my fave verse for a long time. It's an amazing thought that the Lord delights over us with singing. Amazing. I am hoping to kick sugar to the curb. We'll see how it goes.
You and I are so alike in so many ways! As I listen to you, I am shaking my head and saying yes! My main reading goal this year is to be more intentional in my reading. I feel like I miss out on books just to be in a challenge or fill a prompt. Not this year. I want to make better choices. My word of the year is MORE. More time for new experiences, friends, myself, growth and learning. I also am making my health a priority. My mom passed at 53 and my dad at 58. I am 49 and need to take my health seriously. Lastly, I am interested in taking part in your Christian group reads. I am anticipating your choices. ❤
Love how you describe goals vs resolutions. Also the "definition" of JOY. Haven't heard it put quite like that before. You are so inspiring. Love your channel for the faith and life content as much as the reading 😊
The Books that Make You Laugh video was one of my favorite things you've ever done. I love humor in books and so few people highlight it. There's enough darkness, sadness, and whatnot out there and we all need some healing laughter.
Hi Krista - 😌 - Congrats on all your accomplishments with your 2024 goals! I think you did a tremendous job! That is a good idea - how you categorized your 2025 goals: good thinking. Your word for the year - Joy - what a wonderful choice. I wish you so much joy. Have a blessed week. ☺️📚💕
My word this year is Thrive. I have paired down goals and challenges, which is a bit liberating. Reading my shelves and overall decluttering are 2 main focus items this year.
My word for the year is NOW. It’s like not even putting stuff on a to do list. Just see it and do it. As far as book and reading goals I’d like to do 6 author or bookstore related things. I went to a Fiona Davis and Kate Quinn talk and signing already but it could be to sign up for a newsletter or try a new indie bookstore. Really enjoying your podcast Krista.💕📚
This is my first year having a word. My word for the year is discipline. I have let myself be swayed too much recently by what I want in the moment and not what needs to be done. I have let things I really care about get crowded out by things that don’t really matter so I want to take this year and become a more disciplined person. I’m focusing on my spiritual walk, health, time management, and spending. Joy is such a wonderful word and my heart goes out to you. I pray that God leads you from this season of grief into a new season of joy this year. ❤
Lol awesome job reciting the prophets! I learned the books of the Bible in order by using flash cards years ago😊 I read Jeremiah through Malachi in 2023 and they're all great! Best of luck with your awesome goals!
My word is TRANSITION. I feel it fits best as We have a lot of changes this year inc my husband's retirement this spring. So my focus is the planning, preparing and prayer for those changes.❤ It's overwhelming but also exciting!!
One of my reading goals is to read mostly Christian fiction this year. And my word of the year is Satisfied, which is sometimes a struggle for me. Good luck with your goals! :)
Loved watching you talk about your goals for the year. I love to journal so one of my goals is to be consistent in keeping up with the different journals I have. And finally my word of the year is very much Faith related and that is Obedient. Can't wait to see how you do in 2025! 😃
I completed my reading goals last year but at a price I’m not willing to pay this year. I took on too much and what had been fun the previous year no longer brought joy in the last quarter of ‘24. I almost put myself into a slump and realized this mood reader will most likely never be a tbr reader. Not for a full year anyway. I have one goal this year and that’s to read a minimum of 70 books from my owned physical books. My goodreads goal is set at 70 to help me track my progress. I love your word for the year too❤️. Your journal is really cool also.🥰
Book covers are fairly easy. I look up images online then use Canva or word to print them. My reading journal is an A5 size so I make the covers about 1" x 1.5". If I have it, I print on sticker paper but also on reg. paper sometimes and just glue them in.
I think completing 10 goals is fantastic! My reading goals include participating in three online and IRL books clubs (one of which is yours), catching up on my Netgalley books, participating in five readathons (Middle Grade March being one), and reading one Christian non-fiction a month. My word for the year is "praise". I love what you are doing with your word.
Love watching you, Sarah, Lindsey and Bookish blonde. My word this year is calmness. The last 2 years have been bad ( my mother passed away at 101 years of age, my brother had 2 big surgeries) , so this year I'm hoping things will be calmer. I'm 68 and retired last year, so looking forward to reading and other hobbies. Faithful watcher.📖 🐾 🐈
101 is amazing. But it's never easy to lose a parent. I love the word Calmness. I hope that brings you some peace as you focus on it this year. Thanks for being here!
I like watching goal videos, Life goals I don't write down, I have them in my head, it is usually the same get healthier. Book goals, I do the buzzword, Chantel reads all day words for books, am trying to also to a to z. My goal again is to read at least one non-fiction a month, and want to read the books on my goodreads recommendations and my tbr on goodreads, want to read a lot of those books that I have on there. 🙂
Hi Krista! Your videos and Patreon community bring me joy! ❤️. I’ve been meaning to thank you for the sweet card you sent me. It truly made my day and I added your book rec to my TBR.
My small group did Defiant Joy and we all loved it. We refer to it when one of us is going through a difficult time. We say we are defiantly joyful in the midst of the storm.😊❤
Hi Krista, you certainly bring joy to my life with your videos! My goals for the year are to read all Sherlock Holmes stories and to read Middlemarch acvording to the original publication scheme to alliw myself to take my time with it. 😊
Thanks so much! I think Middlemarch is a goal of mine this year too. I think Jen's Reading Life has that schedule all lined up. I need to look into it a bit more.
Hi Krista, My word last year was joy, but I didn't do anything about it. This year I think I my word is going to be light because Jesus is out light Amen. And I will focus on that word because you inspire me! Love ya Krista! ❤️🥶it's cold here in MN.
I used to pick a word and then promptly forget about it. But the last few years I have been intentional about thinking about my word throughout the year. There are a lot of verses about light. I would google "light Bible verses" and read through them. Jesus is our light and we are told to be a light in the world. What does that mean or look like for you where you're at. There's a lot to unpack there. I hope it is a blessing for you!
I love how your explained your word of the year! This year I don't have one. My main reading goals are getting my tbr down and to make progress on all my reading projects. Are you going to do goal check in videos this year? I always love watching those.
For my alphabet challenge I did the same thing, since I didn’t have any books that’s started with x/z, but they had them somewhere in the title. That still counts to me!! Good luck with your goals this year!
My daughter did 75 Hard with 5 children (a phenomenal husband), but was not educated in the requirement of drinking one gallon of water a day. She inadvertently threw her electrolytes off and got really sick for about three days. Praying for safe success for your journey!
Thanks! I have zero desire to do the hard version right now. Maybe someday. I'm on day 3 of my medium version of it though and it's going well so far. The water is the hardest part for me! haha.
I don't set specific goals for the year anywhere, but I always have things on the back of my mind. This year I want to graduate (I went back to college a couple of years ago, which is why I haven't been around!) I also want to move! There are a lot of issues in the house we're living in right now, so I'm really hoping to find a better place this year. As for reading, I just want to have a good time, participate more in the community, and make a dent on my physical tbr! Good luck with all your goals! I love the idea of some progress is still progress, I will keep that in mind! ☺
I can totally relate about Kindle! I've somehow gotten worse at reading my Kindle books instead of better. What in the heck is wrong with me lol. I'm committing to only taking my Kindle when I'm traveling soon (plus one book club book because the meeting is the day after we get back), so I'll make a little progress. Great quote in your journal! I love that you said thankfulness and joy go hand in hand - I think we all tend to let the negative things loom larger in our minds than the positive, and it takes some intention to reverse that mindset.

That shirt is lovely, and looks great with your coloring! GIRL!!!... you read 170 books this past year?? Holy smokes!

Great video! Good luck reaching your goals!😃
The Books that Make You Laugh video was one of my favorite things you've ever done. I love humor in books and so few people highlight it. There's enough darkness, sadness, and whatnot out there and we all need some healing laughter.
Aw thanks, Angela. It was so much fun putting that LOL video together.
Thank you, Krista! 🥰

You're so welcome Amy. I love having you in my corner!
I really like the Cultivate What Matters journals. I had not seen them before. Thank you for putting them on my radar!
I love Write the Word journals! Also, love that joy is your word for the year! 🥹💛
My Word for 2025 is Peace
I love everything CWM publishes. Their color schemes and quality is top notch. Love your word!
Some great goals this year! I just wanted you to know that Pinterest had many Scripture writing plans🤗
My small group did Defiant Joy and we all loved it. We refer to it when one of us is going through a difficult time. We say we are defiantly joyful in the midst of the storm.😊❤
I'm glad to hear that! I have decided it will be one of the four readalongs I do this year.
I don’t have many personal or reading goals this year but want to focus on my health, reading my active series and Newbery winners ❤️📚
Hi Krista, My word last year was joy, but I didn't do anything about it. This year I think I my word is going to be light because Jesus is out light Amen. And I will focus on that word because you inspire me! Love ya Krista! ❤️🥶it's cold here in MN.

There's a lot to unpack there. I hope it is a blessing for you!
My word for the year is trust. Trust that the future will be bright and trust in myself. 😄
Trust is a great word. Hard to put in practice sometimes. Hope it is meaningful to put in practice and think about this year.
I love how your explained your word of the year! This year I don't have one. My main reading goals are getting my tbr down and to make progress on all my reading projects. Are you going to do goal check in videos this year? I always love watching those.
What a great vlog! Thanks for sharing 😂
Thank YOU for watching!
For my alphabet challenge I did the same thing, since I didn’t have any books that’s started with x/z, but they had them somewhere in the title. That still counts to me!! Good luck with your goals this year!
Yep. Works for me too! Thanks.
Those are some major life events this year, moving and graduating! Wishing you well!
JOY - Jesus first, yourself last and others in-between. ... I remember learning this as a kid in Sunday School.
Yep! 😃
Love your goals! Mine are more simple…keep three teenagers alive and read 100 books 😁 My word for the year is Live, as in live life abundantly in the Lord. Have a great week! 🙂
I totally understand how 24 is too many! I make a lot of mine super simple so they can be checked off easily.
That's smart. I just stopped caring about some of them. haha.
I'm always inspired by your goals and I chose Joy as my word of the year last year. This year my word is Trust with Psalm 56:3-4 as my quote. My goals this year are to step outside of my comfort zone and put myself out there in dating and the things I do. I'm 52 and I'm ready for some changes this year. 😁
Nice. Trust is hard for me sometimes. I hope it brings you a lot of inspiration and joy as you focus on it in 2025.
I live in New Zealand and made a reading goal to read 5 New Zealand Stories.😃😁😃
Love that! Let me know if you read any good ones. I don't know if I've read anything set there.
Yes, I chose a word for this year. But I cannot remember it right now. Hmmm? I love the words joy and hope.
How did I miss your October challenge? It sound so much more fun than scary stuff. I will have to keep an eye on your plans for 10/25.
Have a wonderful day!
Haha Katie! Now I'm so curious what your word was! I didn't have a challenge in October, but put out a video where a bunch of booktubers shared a funny book.
One of my goals for this year is to read more Christian nonfiction
Start on a healthy path by simply cutting off only processed sugar; get your sugar from fruits in moderate amounts of course; give that a month and see how you feel!
That's the plan.
If you are ever looking for a sermon series digging into the Bible, Torah Class with Tom Bradford is amazing (available on YT). Just finished Daniel. Love it is not denomination or escological specific
One goal is to read enough Kindle Unlimited books to justify the expense. Do you plan to discuss your 75 soft journey? If so, do you plan to post that type of content on your Joyful Journey channel? I would be interested in doing some health based challenges with others. Accountability can be motivating for me.
Hi haw do you pick the word for the year
Good for you girl! Those are fantastic goals! My goal for this year, is to get my channel monetized, so I'm investing time energy and money into it! I love doing BookTube! I'm a long way from monetized, 100 out of 500 subscribers but I'm having so much fun! 🤩🤩 I have a long way to go to reach 3,000 watch hours! 😂
😊😊😊
😊
🥳
