The Kiseki series helped me a lot at one time in my life. After Reverie and Kuro 2, I thought the series didn't know where it wanted to go, Kuro 2 wasn't really good. I found that there was a drop in quality from Sen after Ao no Kiseki, and that the Calvard arc was quite boring, it was unclear where they wanted to go. But Kai changed everything. The route system was good, the Kevin route is amazing, the Rean route is pretty useless but the fan service is good. the game answers a lot of questions from the beginning of the series and creates new ones. And the final has arrived. Who hoped for a final like this? For me, the series is at its peak again since the last chapter of Ao no Kiseki, the plot twist with the character (I won't spoil who for those who haven't played the game) is impossible to guess. The staging is completely crazy, the cinematic, the OST, everything was perfect. Thank you Falcom
Most emotional final boss theme in the series. This fight isn't one you're supposed to enjoy. Your opponent isn't one who's satisfying to beat up. You're just doing this because you must. And you know regret will follow.
The fact that this was scrapped from Cold Steel III just shows that they decided to change the final battle at some point, because this music is incredible, it's both epic and tragic, and I can clearly see if fitting on the final boss of CS3 IF it was centered more on the corruption of the Divine Beast instead of it already corrupted.

It was peak fiction, and this track just adds so much to that. I think this is my favourite final battle in the entire Kiseki series. I'm also so glad I pegged this as Unisuga when I first played, without knowing he had a battle theme, it made the realisation significantly more powerful, and in turn made this battle and unforgettable moment in gaming for me. this could've been CS3 final boss ost, so it fits, the ancient guardian of the earth septerrion who has tanked the curse for who knows how long until it couldn't anymore and turned out to be a huge monster
This sounds like Nier Song of the ancients/weight of the world vibes. Def catchy. I hope western release comes soon, I really wanna play this already T.T
I'm sure this is a CS3/4 Unisuga leftover. But definitely still a fresh song. The orchestral sound is top notch in this one! The percussion's similar to Phantasmal Blaze, though he used Action Strikes in this one. The mixing on the percussion sounds a bit unfinished, but oh well. Beggars can't be choosers. I'm curious what's the deal with the choir, did Unisuga put that in or Sonoda. If Unisuga, could be placeholder for Jindo choir like Azure Arbitrator, basically a way of saying insert lyrics here. If Sonoda, he might try to make it more epic. And I've heard him mashing random Latin syllables together before (Malicious Fiend), this might be right up his alley.

Unused track from Sen3 it seems. For some reason this banger was scrapped and they only decided to add it now. I THINK I KNOW the reason it was chosen, I didn't see a lot of spoilers, but if the final Boss is the person I think it is, this song actually fits. It's a desperate song, about someone or something who's slowly being corrupted and desperately wanting to be free but bound by the shackles of a curse they can't get rid of alone. Frankly it fits the Divine Beast corrupted in CS3 so well, it's a wonder why it was scrapped. But it also fits the final boss of Kai if it's who I think it is.
@@advmx3Falcom has a lot of scrapped songs and it’s very rare that like 5 managed to come out from that jail and be put in later trails games or other falcom series
Well, we know Unisuga doesn't do new music for Falcom anymore so it's pretty easy to conclude that anything you hear from him post Reverie has to be a previously rejected track. You just have to be able to recognize that this is Unisuga's work, which isn't too difficult if you're familiar with his style. It's also reminiscent of One-Way to the Netherworld from CS3 and quality wise it's definitely so it's easy to place the origin of Kai's final boss theme in that period. We also have a rough idea of how many unused tracks could potentially be gathering dust in Falcom's proverbial closets thanks to leaks of their internal archival system for tracks their composers produced. That's getting into the weeds though.
Because it doesnt make sense for unisuga to compose only 1 music while 40% goes to bingus, hes not composing music for falcom anymore, i wish im wrong but nothing new come from him since reverie
@@sazhenmari A low input doesn’t mean that this isn’t new. It just means that it isn’t his main job. I think he composes 1-2 tracks per year for fun while doing his sysadmin job.

Haven't even played Kuro 2, but I will say this: IT seems they want to finish the series ASAP, because if by the end of Hajimari we had 70% done or something like that and suddenly we're 90% done with Kai, it feels they want to finish this series way too soon, if that's the case expect the story to be as meh as possible for now on xD

I refuse to spoil myself on this, not any more than knowing that it's waiting for me at the end. If this piece is really as good as all the comments are making it out to be, it deserves to be enjoyed in-game.
Thank you, Unisuga. You're the greatest to ever have done it. We miss you, king.
😭😭😭😭
What is the OST that plays during Quatre's Connect event while Van meets him in his room?
It gave me a feeling of the Japanese version of "The Amazing Race" theme song.

???????????????????????????????
AIN'T NO FUCKING WAY. I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS WHAT THE FUCK
I think this is the first time I shed tears listening to music since playing Zwei 2 last year
and what do you know it's the same guy making me cry. definitely sounds like a leftover though
(also semi-relatedly - Sonoda final boss with a motif again when??)
Even if this isn't as finished or interesting compared to what he can do nowadays (and many of his other orchestral songs historically in general)
Just hearing his beautiful signature violin again.. just hearing his percussion again.. just hearing his knack for fast-paced orchestral music again... just hearing his punctual, purposeful, emotive transitions again..
Still my favourite composer and creative mind for anything in general - ever since I got into Trails, Ys and Falcom in 2021.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, I CAN'T STOP CRYING.
If he ever makes music again pray he gets per-track credits and the recognition he deserves 🥲. Wish the best for him as usual.
I wish Jindo would arrange this into a more spectacular masterpiece. Of course, Unisuga's superb ability to forge epic music like this is already breathtaking, but I hope one day it will happen.
Imagine if this song gets a super arrange version with a real choir...

@@SenseiMasterShikikan-sama Never
Btw, would it be fascinating or inappropriate had this music been released in 2017?
@@jamessparrow7569 it would be great that if it's used rather than reusing "One-Way to the Netherworld" but this particular composition is in context and aged like wine 🧎
@@SenseiMasterShikikan-sama Wine couldn't even contain the music itself, for me. It's way more valuable than wine. Btw, I don't drink wine, so I may not know how it feels to compare music with wine. Haha
This gives me nier vibes
I love it but, to be honest this is more suitated for dungeon don't you think it literally has leitmof of end of saga from sen 4 minus the orchestra.
Yeah, probably an unused track from Sen III/IV. Still better than the vast majority of this game's OST. I cried so hard.
Where is the motif, I don't hear a single one :(
@@kentstopme Just shows how goated he is

Hasn't grown on me yet (literally just finished the game 1 hour ago)
Btw, how do you guys get to know whether this song is a reject or not in the first place?
@@sazhenmari there is precedent for him doing so. he only composed 2 actual songs during Ys SEVEN (2/4 were leftovers). I think more likely this is a leftover just based on the general instrumentation and composition, though.
@@YourVinished That makes this music more precious, given that he might have used more time to compose for a dramatic climax IMO. It makes me wonder what it would take to work as a music composer in the real world.
I don't hate also I don't like it too because it doesn't sound like Trails music ,it more like Final Fantasy or NieR music to me .
the violin is very much trails music
the choir effects are very reminiscent of something like Bipolar Nightmare from Automata, but the attention to detail is more characteristic of the orchestral boss music from Cold Steel.
(me taking the Try Not to Reference the Composer challenge)
far better than nier and ff for my own opinion😂😂
@@theo-y5s8j I agree. Nier has some good music, and the choir does remind you a bit of it, but this is far better than most music there. I won't lie.

Good music but for the worst plot entire series .I thought CS4 bad but can't even hold the candle with this one
suuure buddy
Haven't even played Kuro 2, but I will say this: IT seems they want to finish the series ASAP, because if by the end of Hajimari we had 70% done or something like that and suddenly we're 90% done with Kai, it feels they want to finish this series way too soon, if that's the case expect the story to be as meh as possible for now on xD
@@advmx3 nope, Kondo lied like always, np way is this series 90% done when we still have Kai 2 and more games.
