That last comment is indeed a fact. Its why we dump above a certain altitude.

Being an aircraft engineer I love the comments regarding jettisoning of fuel and harm to the environment. Ok here are the facts,Fuel dumped by airplanes at high altitudes (usually above 6,000 feet) atomises and evaporates into the atmosphere before hitting the ground. The fuel, typically released during emergencies to reach safe landing weights, breaks into tiny droplets that disperse widely, resulting in negligible impact on the ground. Yes it is a very expensive exercise, given the price of Jet A1 at todays rate. This cost is at the end of the day is miniscule compared to the cost of loosing an aircraft which is many millions of dollars and the cost of human life which never can have a price put on it. I would rather loose $60,000 in Jet A1 to make the aircraft safe to land and not over weight. Maximum landing weight (MLW) for a A380 is 868,000Ibs or 394,000kg or 394 metric tons. Your choice.

Chemical Sprays have indeed been used in projects such as cloud seeding however its absolutely unrelated to aviation fuel.

If you don't understand the reason for dumping fuel you probably believe in "Chemtrails" also, and therefore are an Idiot.
