    Thanks Nice and clear demonstration,
    I have a problem, when I park the vehicle for 8 hours the oil level reach to maximum and once engine starts the oil level becomes at min level... please advise what could be the possible reason...

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  Год назад +1

      The most likely reason for the power steering oil reaching the maximum level when the vehicle is parked for 8 hours and then going to the minimum level when the vehicle is started and driven is that there is a leak in the power steering system.
      When the vehicle is parked for an extended period, the power steering oil settles at the bottom of the reservoir, and any leaks in the system allow air to enter the system, which causes the oil level to drop. When the vehicle is started and the power steering system is engaged, the pump draws in air instead of oil, which causes the power steering to feel weak or "sluggish" and the oil level to drop further

    If I have metal shavings in my power steering system should I replace my rack and pinion or flush and replace pump only??

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  11 месяцев назад +2

      Metal shavings in your power steering system could indicate a serious issue. It's recommended to thoroughly inspect the system to identify the source of the shavings. If the damage is extensive, replacing the rack and pinion might be necessary. Flushing the system and replacing the pump alone may not address the root cause.

    Is this a hydraulic power steering and not electronic as in my Toyota etios. I had a contessa years ago but it didn't have power steering and no way to lubricate with steering box oil so I suggested my mechanic who was a bit reluctant but finally agreed to do what I told him, I wanted him to make 2 holes in the rack casing ( housing) and give two grease nipples and after packing grease the steering was smooth as butter. Can I do the same on my etios which has power steering

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  2 года назад

      Dear both the high pressure lines are same, so there will be no problem (hard steering) if you interchange these lines.
      The most important thing is tha if you Interchanged the place at valve you must interchange its place at rack too.

    My reservoir was leaking from the steering pump, after which i sealed the steering pump (Fixed).. and then the leak stopped..
    but the steering is hard after running the car for like 5/10mins it become somehow heavy while the car is on drive(D) and vehicle is stop (lets say a traffic stop and not moving) this is when its becomes impossible to turn the steering.
    Do you have any ideal the cause or fix for this?

    • @automotivespot

      There are several reasons for the problem as you mentioned here, and the reasons are as follows
      1.malfunctioning power steering pump
      2.worn power steering belt
      3.faulty power steering control valve
      Check these three, hopefully you ll get the main reason for your problem. Thank you

    if there is oil leakage around the rubber at the valve what could be the main reason, which part need replacement?

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  9 месяцев назад

      The reason could be a damaged or worn-out seal within the valve assembly. Typically, the part that needs to be replaced would be the valve seal to stop the leakage. It's important to diagnose and address the issue promptly to prevent further damage to the power steering system.

    • @automotivespot

      It's possible the whining noise is simply coming from trapped air bubbles in your power steering fluid. If you suspect this is the case, you can confirm it by removing the cap from the power steering fluid reservoir and checking if any bubbles or froth has formed in it.

    sometimes Two or three days pass without any problem The power steering . 💁🏻‍♂️
    And sometimes power steering stops working more then 5 times a day 🤷🏻‍♂️
    I already replaced the power steering in a new one, put it still the same problem 🤦🏻‍♂️
    * I think the problem is overhead .
    I believe that the the power steering temperature goes higher and power steering stops itself 🤔
    what do you think?
    *P.S : wen I cool down the power steering in water hose hes starts works normally 😐
    *P.S 2 : wen The Power steering works the steering wheel is very very easy to Spin and light and fast.
    Thank you for reading my problem and excuse me for explaining a lot 🌹

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  2 года назад +1

      I have read your description and it's so tricky to answer as many factors are related to your prob as you have replaced it with new one.
      The simplest solution is that the vehicle has simply run out of fluid; this could be due to a leak or it could be because you have not replaced the fluid recently. A more serious problem is that the pump itself is failing. Moreover check for reservoir tank, any leakages, power steering belt for wear or aging. Secondly if you think about high temperature, so I want to clear you that at high temperature it works better while at lower temperatures there must be probs due to viscosity (inverse relation to temp) .

      Oh so it's an electronic powered. The electric power steering uses an electric motor that draws energy from the vehicle's electrical system to provide steering assistance. Sensors detect the torque or effort that the driver is applying at the steering wheel, and a computer decides how much assist needs to be added. So in short, check the motor and sensors too.

      W salam.
      If your steering wheel is making a loud rubbing noise when turning, the culprit could be the upper bearing on the steering column itself. This can cause the the plastic on the back of some steering wheels to rub against the cowling on the steering column.

    I am your subscriber, sir. Please ask how to modify the Torque Rod in the Pinion Gear? . All this time I have been observing why no one has modified the Pinion Gear. The info is that by modifying the Pinion Gear you can lighten the steering. Thank you very much in advance, I am waiting for your answer and vlog

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks a lot and I am happy to have a subscriber thinking out of the box. Actually Modifying the torque rod in the pinion gear of a steering system requires precision, as it directly impacts the handling, steering feel, and performance and that's the main reason there is no one trying to modify the torque rod.

      @@automotivespot Thank you in advance for my attention. I want to ask again, is there one O Ring seal inside the torsion bar? And what is the seal that makes the steering wheel heavy? Lastly, have you ever replaced the OnRing Seal? Once again thank you for your attention

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  2 месяца назад

      There is no such O ring seal in tortion bar. However the vehicles that uses steering systems with tortion bars, there are related seals in relative components.
      1. The steering rack in power steering systems has internal seals that maintain hydraulic pressure. If these seals wear out, fluid leaks can occur, leading to a loss of assist, making steering feel heavier.
      2 . Seals in the power steering pump can also deteriorate over time. If these seals leak, the pump won’t maintain adequate pressure, causing heavy steering.
      3. Leaks at hose fittings (secured by O-rings or seals) reduce hydraulic pressure, contributing to steering stiffness

    thank you so much sire very good explenation also you should mention about how the torsen bar work because its the key element of the rotatory valve when the driver exort too much force one the wheel the trsen bar would twist and it will make the orifices in the grooves inside to line up so the fluid will be flowing to the appropriate line depending on if that twisting is to the left or to the right thank you so much very nice video keep up with these videos they are so good and i love them i would like if you mad a demonstration about the automatic transmission and the torque converter thank you so much sir

      Yes it is work. If the engine not running you will have heavy steering because the pump doesn't work yet.

    where is the greatest chance of clogging this system with a hard particle of sediment? We changed new power steering oil and since then I have had a heavier power steering. I think that part of the old deposits got caught somewhere in the valve in the middle, where there are small holes

    What is oil seal actually?

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  3 года назад

      Steering oil seals are used within the steering system, it provides prevention of leaking steering fluids and retains fluids inside the machine so the steering system can operate properly and avoid malfunction

    • @automotivespot
      @automotivespot  3 года назад

      Oil Seal is a device that is used to prevent the leakage of lubricating oil in mechanical equipment by closing the spaces between the moving and stationary components of the equipment
