You said different times “why would anybody want to see that/watch me not know what I’m doing”. You know why? Because in this way we don’t feel alone. Everyone in the internet is only showing the happy and perfect side of life and I think this could be so toxic because it’s not reality. post grad is the quiet period where you rediscover yourself outside of school, take a trip, volunteer, do passion projects, date around, and find you and what you represent. Theres no linear path to your future but never get too lazy where you lose yourself. Never let marriage be your personality if you are struggling in your individuality, marriage without self-identity or assurance is loveless and a sinking ship
1) This definitely a common thing where post graduation people feel lost because we were given a student identity for 20+ years and then they take it away almost without letting us know in a way. You’ll find your way eventually, everyone does as long as they are willing. This issue can also come from comparing yourself to other people and honestly I can’t really say don’t because almost everyone does. 2) Don’t rush into marriage. You have to wait until you find the perfect one because you don’t want to mess up and marry the wrong person. For example, some of your friends have found the ‘one’ already and some haven’t. Some may just have boyfriends which may not turn into a husband. Eventually you will find someone because I can genuinely see that you are an amazing woman. I’m actually surprised you’ve haven’t found a boyfriend. Genuinely. I’m not just saying this to make you feel better. You’re pretty and hardworking. 3) Don’t try and achieve greatness everything all at once. You want a husband, good job, perfect relationship with God, etc. What your describing to me sounds like a perfect life and we’re not perfect. I might be wrong but this is just what I think. Make of it what you will. Keep going Riley and NEVER give up.
Please don’t rush into a relationship just for the sake of one, you just graduated college , now you get to have your first job, move into your first apartment in whatever town you want! Decorate it how you want, date around and find the one you truly want , not just anyone! It’s your time to find your style, your independence , who you want to be as an adult and you you want to be tied to, what kind of person! You get to make new friends and go out on girls nights and meet cute guys get all dolled up ! Get into the gym it will help you feel good and strong , eat some fruits they have a lot of vitamin c that will help you feel good too!! Do whatever you want to do! It’s your time! Once you get tied down that’s it you can’t flirt with cute guys anymore , you can’t go wherever you want and do whatever you want anymore it’s all on the man’s schedule and catering to him and it can be miserable if you don’t get a chance to live your life first!
Riley, I think what you are feeling is very common for people post graduation. I personally didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life either. I didn’t get a 4 year degree, but I did get my associates in programming. Some things that really helped me: 1) don’t compare yourself to others! Everyone has their own timeline for starting a family and finding love. I’m 26 and still looking for someone to settle down with. 2) The thing with money is that once you have it, you will always want more. I think it’s super important to live within your means (even for entrepreneurs). 3) Some RUclipsrs would kill to have the amount of subscribers and reach you have! I think it’s very important to look at everything you’ve accomplished in your life vs what you haven’t accomplished. If you can reflect by journaling for 20 minutes a day, I promise you that you will become happier. 4) One thing that’s really helped me is reverse engineering the end of my life. I want to be able to say “wow, I’m really glad I made apps. I at least put in the effort”. Think about what the ideal Riley looks like 10 years from now and take small actionable steps to get there. 5) Please take it one day at a time! We may think about our future a lot, but we live in the present. 6) Establishing meaningful friendships and being close to family really helps with happiness. Hey Riley, hope you see this. I’ve been following your channel for three years now. You helped my mental state when there seemed nothing good during covid. You inspired me to fly 8000 miles away to pursue my undergraduate degree in the US, when I hadn’t even stepped out of my country ever before. You showed that life can still be meaningful during depressing times. Believe it or not, I don’t know about anyone but at least for me, you had a huge impact. You’re creating impact on other people’s lives Riley. When you say you have no motivation left, you don’t know what to work for, you don’t have a purpose, you’re heavily undermining yourself. There are thousands who are inspired by you Riley, please keep going. It hurts me to see you going through this phase of life, but trust me, everything’s gonna get better. You have me and many thousands of loyal supporters who still get a smile on their face when they see a video of yours pop up. If not for yourself, at least for me and for us, keep going. When I first saw this video I got what you were saying but now, watching this in a very similar time of my life, I understand. This feeling sucks. But we’re gonna make it by the grace of God and when we do we’re gonna look back and see how much we needed these lost, out of control, confused feelings. We’re so close to our blessing girl. I relate to this so much… especially the “I never thought I’d not be married or not have a boyfriend by now”…. We obviously don’t need somebody to complete us. However, I’ve grown up being taught that marriage is a gift and when you have somebody it means that you’ve “made it”. I feel this hard. I’m 25 and get it 100% .
Im 43, when I was your age same thing happened to me. What helped was joining new clubs, find new hobbies, creating small buisnesses and that helped me meet new people, find new perspectives and then one day when I least expected I met my husband. We got married 6 months later. It is normal what is happening to you, you just want to force yourself to shift and try new things. You can do it! You are a beautiful, smart, young woman and you inspire us everytime we see you. We learn so much from you, dont give up.

Hey Riley! I’m 19, going into my sophomore year of college. I just found out last semester I’ll be graduating my junior year, which has really hit me hard the last couple months, knowing I’ll have to be completely independent by 21 when I graduate. It’s a stressful time, and I’ve been worried about my direction career wise and financially. I actually feel very comforted by this video, it’s nice to know you’re not the only one in a similar situation. All I can say is we are where are for a reason, and if it brings you any comfort at all, you’re not alone!! Also, I think post-grad content would be great for everyone feeling similar to you! It’s encouraging to see, and I really think it would be helpful. Even if you’re just documenting day to day life, it really helps some of us to see relatable content that can make us feel like we’re not alone, and it’s not impossible to get through this phase! Most people people don't have jobs right after college and end up right back at home for a little while and that's ok but you go to college to get a job in the career you want but that hardly ever happens but that's ok. Iam 40 and my words to alot of you Youngs kids are do something you enjoy and don't let yourselves fall into a routine to where it's sleep, go to work, go home every day of your life.
Girl, I think you’re putting way way too much pressure on yourself to get married. Getting married is not going to make you happy, it should only add to your happiness. Getting married isn’t going to fulfill you. If you go into relationships thinking that, you will take whoever comes your way and they will most likely not deserve you. Try not to push yourself so much, let it come to you. The best things come to those who wait. I know it’s hard, I can’t even imagine, but patience is so important. We need to be happy now or we’ll regret it later. I would love watching any video you make even if you’re just sitting on the couch. I love watching routine, it makes me feel relaxed and soothes me. hey, i normally don’t comment on youtube videos but i feel really pulled to. i started watching you in my junior year and i just got through the first year of college. you really are someone i look up to BECAUSE of your authenticity and relatability. not only as a student, someone that has always been single and yearns to be in a relationship, but most of all your security in God. what i’ve been learning in these “in-between” seasons is that He WANTS and WILL give the desires of your heart but there is a reason for the pause. keep your eyes on Him in the midst of the storm. He gives us these seasons of being lost in this world, to remember to be secure in God, remain in His Word, scream and cry at Him all you need to. He’s the only satisfying love. He’s there and listening, equipping, healing, building character, and endurance in you. discovering and being secure in the only unconditional love and grace that exists, Him, will help prepare us for things even BIGGER than we expect. He will fulfill you. He meets us where we’re at. I encourage you to read the prodigal son (Luke 15), that really helped me heal from this idea of God being so distant and almost condemning/legalistic and taking away that forceful feeling of going to church. i wish i could keep going on and on,, but just know we love you ♥️.

One God for all of us he created us all and can revive us again, God initiated everything, & he repeat/redo things too, & thats clear, we see many cycles of different things in life, also in summer for example the desert land becomes like empty and is filled with only sand, and when rain falls in abundance in spring or winter, after that small flowers & wild plants grow again, also, we see how humans and animals grow and how their body is formed from the elements which were in the sand which plants feed on which they eat, and after they die they go to the sand and their atoms/elements are taken by plants which humans & animals eat and their bodies grow from those atoms & elements found in the sand which came from previous humans & animals which died before, so God can bring us again after we die even if our atoms became in the sand he can make us from the same atoms we were made of or from other atoms if he want or make us be in a spirit form or like ghosts, any ways, everything in this life is recycled, learn if you want about the different cycles in life in nature, the food cycle or food chain, the water cycle, even the gas cycle that makes the air the oxygen &carbon dioxide &nitrogen cycles, even the energy is like recycled but only changes from form to another form. Your content is helpful to so many of us. I am 19 in college and have never been in a relationship. I have very few friends and I have been angry and sad about this stage of my life since I started college. Recently something just clicked in my mind that I am actually soo grateful that I have the people in my life that I do have. Ive just realized that I need to have faith in the Lord that my life will work out.
I felt this a little too much. I'm currently at my desk staring to my university readings and feeling absolutely nothing. Growing up this is what I always wanted. To finally move out of home and start my life. I have been questioning my major and trying to ask myself if this is really what I want to do but more importantly is this what God wants me to do. I feel no sense of direction and my motivation is rock bottom. When you starting saying all these things I shed a few tears because even though I am also in college in my second year, i'm repeating my first year. I started this year with so many goals and so much motivation but as it has continued I dont even know I this is for me or if i'm called to do something different entirely. Now that the year is almost over I almost feel it is too late but the second trimester has just begun. I literally have no idea what i want to do but I have so many people telling me what I should be doing

I’m the same way in terms of having a go-getter mentality and that mentality making me feel unproductive at monotonous times in life. The main thing that I’ve found helps is lowering your expectations about how exciting and new day-to-day life needs to be. Realize that not every day needs to be thrilling and exciting for it to be valuable/beautiful. Some days and experiences are, but mostly, that’s just not reality. The beautiful thing about your life right now is you seem to have the room to explore everything life has to offer! Try a new job, volunteer, read a lot or commit to a new hobby you’ve been wanting to try for a while, push yourself into experiences you may not naturally have, and life will fall into place as you start to figure out what you like and don’t like. Even if there’s nothing you particularly want to do, just choose something and run with it. I agree with another comment I saw that Haley Pham is a great model of a post-school influencer who finds ways to make her life a little more exciting while also being content with her daily routine. I feel similarly to you, Riley. I’m 23 unmarried, in grad school, and just feel like I’m floundering. I know I’m still young, but growing up in the church it’s hard seeing people younger than me married with kids. That’s something I’ve always wanted and know it will come, but just not yet. Something I have to remind myself is that once I get married I will never be single and childless for the rest of my life. It’s taken me so long, but I’m trying to appreciate the single childless life and focus on myself as much as I can. Also, your videos bring me so much joy. Even if it’s a simple video, it motivates me to have more discipline, take better care of my body, and focus more on my faith. Sending you so much love. Ah Riley, there are so many people that don’t know what they want to do in their early twenties. It’s fine. The hardest thing is after you compare yourself where ur friends or ur parents were at your age, you think you’re behind. But it’s not true at all. Live out your passions, live life to the full. This is what your twenties are for trust me. You are smart enough and you’ve proved it with a degree. Now you can focus on doing things that make you happy. The expectations you have for ur self are incredibly high and because you’re not doing it, you’re disappointed. MOST PEOPLE GO THROUGH THIS. Hey! I just came across your channel because I felt the same way at the moment. I just graduated my sophomore year of highschool and while I have plans, it's been about a week into summer and I don't feel accomplished. There are so many things I want and need to do, but do I feel motivated? Not really. Do I feel guilty that as the days keep going and going, I'm putting more pressure on myself and the people around me? Of course. Moments like these, while they may not be shared online, are honestly more normal and average and constant than the others. You know how on a TV show time passes between events so that a storyline can happen? Those episodes that us viewers get to see are just a segment, a tiny tiny tiny sliver of life of those characters, of you and me and everyone else, and the behind the scenes, the unwanted days and weeks and months of even years are part of the story! They are just pieces of the puzzle that make up the intricate story that is each and every person. Self-doubt, confusion, loss, emptiness are worth sharing, honestly (like with how honest you were in this video) is WORTH SHARING because not only are you not alone, but so so so many others can feel relief by the fact that others can relate to the emotions. I guess my point is that as you speak, I can see myself and I find a sort of comfort in that, because I know that the broken part of life is something worth going through, because it can push us to higher levels of awareness and growth that we never could find before. I know we're in different places of our lives and this might all seem like terrible advice or worthless but I really really appreciate you sharing this and I will remember this, because these emotions and feelings are memorable and important. Riley my heart goes out to you for the struggles you have right now. One thing I did hear you say and I hope it sticks with you. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Even if it is YT content or to be married. Approach both as you did running a race- train for it (life skills such as travelling, developing new hobbies, taking classes at the gym, activities within your church) so you will meet new people and perhaps the person you were meant to marry. Some of those things you can use for YT channel content. Even the books you are reading you can do discussions or recommendations for YT. And for all of those who are struggling as you see friends getting things (spouse, job, parenthood etc.) that you haven't accomplished yet, life isn't a race it is a journey and seldom are we are on the same part at the same time. Keep pushing forward and working towards your goals...your time will come.
Hi Riley. I totally relate to you. Not having a significant other kind of sucks. I mostly struggled with not having someone as my home and comfort. But you get to explore yourself and focus on yourself just a little more. Then he will come so easily and quickly that you won't even realize how you got married.
“Having issues” doesn’t lessen your self worth or make you any less of a person.. you can still be an amazing person and loved even with issues. I struggle a lot with anxiety and overthinking & worried for the longest time that my bf would ultimately leave me for not wanting to deal with it anymore, but u know u have found ur person when they not only can look past that, but also cherish that about u bc it’s what makes you you. I know that sounds cliche but I truly mean it. My bf & I have been together for almost 3 years. U May think u have nothing going for u rn, but let me tell u. U are wrong. You’re beautiful inside and out, hardworking, intelligent, have an amazing smile, athletic, everything. ❤ keep ur head up & surround urself by like minded ppl that share ur values. Join adult groups in ur community to meet ppl. Don’t open urself up to ppl who don’t deserve it. Don’t settle bc u are worth so much more than that. I know u will find ur person bc u have so many amazing qualities that a lot of guys r looking for. Ur time will come. The best things are worth waiting for ❤

Heya, I don’t want to cross a boundary or anything here. But maybe therapy would be useful, I had to drop out of university a while ago due to mental health and felt I lost all my purpose and felt like my life plan had fallen apart. But having someone to talk to, work through everything and have that neutral space to just be open helped me so much. It took a while getting used to, being able to be completely open but it has completely changed my outlook on life. It isn’t for everyone, but it might be something that could be useful. Obviously therapy isn’t feasible for everyone, but changing the self talk is the main thing I took away. Also, you are an inherently valuable person. Not that you don’t know that, but no matter if you’re a wife or a mother or neither, you always have value as a person and always will. I’ve enjoyed your videos through Covid especially, they made me feel less alone going through university, always making me laugh. Sorry if this crossed a line or something, I just wanted to share.

This is so raw and amazing. It is okay to feel alone, powerless, and hopeless. Everyone struggles and showing your struggles to the world is so powerful because it helps you and so many others. Your time is coming and the road is going to be rocky but you will have happiness in your life. Posting videos about what it’s like to be in college or deal with adult life would be fun and interesting to watch. Your person is coming, it is just going to take time. You can still be amazing and have issues, don’t let that stop you from being happy. Take time for yourself. We want you to be happy. Riley, you're so not alone! I just had a breakdown yesterday for similar reasons. I'm a soon 21 year old, a rising senior in college, but am already feeling lost: no internship, no relationships, no clear career directions. This season is difficult, but remember that it is normal for our age and for post-grad to feel lost. "For everything there is a season" (Ecclesiastes 3:1). But seasons are ever-changing. This time is temporary. Continue to persevere, do what you can, and stay as close as possible to the heart of Jesus. He will meet all your needs and in due time, and soon He will reveal true joy. "I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us." (Romans 8:18) Especially with social media, there is a ton of pressure to keep producing, to keep entertaining. The reality, however, is that our lives are not meant for entertainment. We are made firstly for relationship with the Lord. Our identity, our lives, our hopes, our plans are all rooted firstly in Him. You will get through this Riley (and whoever else is struggling with this!), and God bless💗

Let’s be friends because I’m in the exact same boat my girl!!!🙌🏼 It’s so discouraging to feel directionless in EVERY ASPECT of life! And nobody prepares you for it! Nobody talks about the possibility of being in your 20s and feeling like you don’t know what to do when it seems that everyone around you is getting married and starting a successful career etc etc. Especially when you are someone of faith and you are doing all the “right things” and you feel like the blessings aren’t coming or the Lord isn’t making His will known. Something I am CONSTANTLY being reminded is that it’s not necessarily about what you DO but who you are and who you’re becoming. Remember the grand plan that God has for you! The most important thing is to stay loyal to the covenants you’ve promised to the Lord and line upon line things will work out. Easier said than done of course. You’ve got this, girly! I’ll be praying for you …and seriously let’s be friends:)
Literally everything you said resonated me. I’m 21 about to graduate too and I was so lost and depressed about what I wanted to do in life. Stressed about a career because I don’t have a driving passion for anything in my field meanwhile everyone else seems like they do. All I can say that helped me is just take every possible opportunity to help you cross out things and navigate you toward things you might like and never knew you needed! :)

First off, thank you for being so vulnerable. As a 23 year old, I can relate so much to not knowing what I'm doing or where I'm going. It's hard when college ends and you don't have a clear direction or goal anymore! Second, God loves you so much and doesn't rely on your works. You don't need to be so focused on self-improvement and bettering yourself. Yes, growth is important and needed, but let the Holy Spirit do that within you. It's His work, not yours. You should look at Haley Pham! She is married but her husband isn’t the main vibe of all her content. It’s really about her figuring out how to transition into her twenties successfully and a love diary to everything that makes her happy! Linda Sun is also a great post-grad transition channel. I also just graduated college and it’s weird but I promise even without direction there’s plenty of things to do be excited about that don’t necessarily have to revolve around romantic relationships ❤
Don’t worry. You have a lot: friends, family,… the other things will come around at some moment. And hobbies change. Embrace the change, you will be okay, I am sure!!

I'm in the same phase of life right now and here's what I've taken out of it this far. Maybe this will help/apply maybe it won't. If you can't be stable and secure by yourself and figure out your life and what you want you won't be able to be secure in a relationship. This is why we have this phase of life to show us ,okay ,we first have to become independent and prepare ourselves to build a stable and healthy relationship and family before actually being able to have it. You will find your path and will grow into your dream of getting married and building a family. Give yourself grace and time. ❤

Your videos are awesome and although I’ve never watched most of the things you post, I relate to what you’re going through. I’m 25 and I’m struggling with most of my classes because it’s overwhelming. You will make it through this. You don’t have to know what to study. Just start somewhere. It’s a beautifully darkening beginning that’ll get better.
Stop reducing yourself to a husband, your happiness should never depend on a man loving you, that is toxic. You are young, use that time to become independent, to travel and meet new places and new people. Everything will sort itself out. And work in your self esteem, love yourself first, go to therapy if you need to. Do not live for others approval, ever. And stop with the self deprecation and the "I should be married". No, you should not, not yet. You should be enjoying life, because one day you will be too old to do those things and there is not going back. Do things for yourself, not for others, once you meet people and have more life experiences you will find things that make you happy, things to share with everyone if you want to, and eventually people to share your life with, if that is what you want. The key is share, not being dependent. For the love of god, people, stop trying to live by what others say or do, live for you. Don't follow trends, those come and go, and don't expect to be the person that changes the world either. Start by feeling happy with yourself and work your way up. And people do care, about you. Not about your idea of living for a husband. Talk about what matters to you.

Riley, I've been off of youtube for over a month, but I logged back in today to watch your video. When I realized you'd posted I just had to watch it, because you are always so encouraging. As a Christian, it's refreshing to watch someone else who believes in God just sort of... doing life. I love your videos, no matter how 'boring' they may seem. Many others have commented about how you seem so much more real than other youtubers, and I 100% echo that yet again. No one, not even those who believe in God, portrays a realistic life anymore. On camera, everyone is perfect. I also thought I would be married by now. I'm about to turn twenty, and I've never had a boyfriend, a first kiss... anything. It helps when others like you show that they are feeling the same way. Sharing discouragement can be a way to encourage. Anyways, God created this life but it's only a temporary sample/an example of a coming everlasting one which could be either in heaven paradise or in hell. Most of us feel this way and it’s hard sometimes but we just have to keep in mind that God is God at the end of the day. He remains the same and he has a plan and purpose for us. Just keep moving babe, we’ll get there eventually

Riley, dear, this is something that we all went through at your age. I just want you to know that these feelings are legit-and that you're not alone. I'm 20 years older than you and still feel my life isn't very exciting, but people tell all the time they feel the same way. It's okay to seek counsel in this phase of life-- it's very common to have these doubts and hopeless feelings. Try not to beat yourself up. Take a break, volunteer, go on a mission trip-- take time to live in this new phase of life without the camera. Read, read, read. It will open up your mind! You're beautiful, hilarious, and important to this world. Deep breaths, you have a very long time to figure it out and you'll reinvent yourself multiple times. Post grad depression is very real!!!!!!

I feel 100% the same way about needing to get married. That’s always been my goal and my dream and I haven’t wanted or needed anything more. It’s not because I NEED a man to be happy or satisfied but it’s more of I need to be a wife/mom to be my full self. So I fully get that part of what you’re saying. All I see is couples my age getting engaged and married. It’s hard, but your time will come and you will feel the way you want to feel

Riley! You literally inspire me so much. Ever since I found you on RUclips which was in 2020 I have looked up to you. You got me through high school. I relate on so many different levels to this video. I am not post college graduate, in fact I am just going into my sophomore year of college at byu. When I graduated high school it was my DREAM to go to SVU because of you, but the Lord needed me at byu. Anyways, ever since that, my life plan has turned completely upside down. I thought I would be on a mission as soon as I turned 19, and when that didn’t happen everything else in my “perfect” plan seems to fall apart. I don’t know what your plan is right now, from what you said in this video, it seems as if you don’t either. Maybe you’ve been told this a million times and your sick of hearing it, but you should come move to Provo. Part of why I wanted to go to SVU is because I didn’t want to go to byu because of all the stigmas around it. My freshman year was the best year of my life (despite the many challenges and disappointments I faced). But I think you should seriously consider moving to Provo whether it’s to work or go to grad school, I don’t know. But being able to have the community it provides is life changing. And the boys there are great. There are a lot of options lol, and so many of them are amazing and it’s hard not to meet someone because everyone wants to date so everyone is asking people on dates. Provo is fun, it’s real, it’s so lively, and might be a good option🤷♀️ whatever you do, I hope to watch you do it because I love seeing someone so similar to me and you truly inspire me. I look forward to every video you post, even the ones you may feel like are “boring.” I always finish them feeling better and motivated!

Travel, do things YOU want to do. Do not be so hard on yourself, reach out for help. You are way too young to think you need to be married and with kids. You have time! I am Mormon and married at 20. post grad is the quiet period where you rediscover yourself outside of school, take a trip, volunteer, do passion projects, date around, and find you and what you represent. Theres no linear path to your future but never get too lazy where you lose yourself. Never let marriage be your personality if you are struggling in your individuality, marriage without self-identity or assurance is loveless and a sinking ship
1) This definitely a common thing where post graduation people feel lost because we were given a student identity for 20+ years and then they take it away almost without letting us know in a way. You’ll find your way eventually, everyone does as long as they are willing. This issue can also come from comparing yourself to other people and honestly I can’t really say don’t because almost everyone does.
2) Don’t rush into marriage. You have to wait until you find the perfect one because you don’t want to mess up and marry the wrong person. For example, some of your friends have found the ‘one’ already and some haven’t. Some may just have boyfriends which may not turn into a husband. Eventually you will find someone because I can genuinely see that you are an amazing woman. I’m actually surprised you’ve haven’t found a boyfriend. Genuinely. I’m not just saying this to make you feel better. You’re pretty and hardworking.
3) Don’t try and achieve greatness everything all at once. You want a husband, good job, perfect relationship with God, etc. What your describing to me sounds like a perfect life and we’re not perfect.
I might be wrong but this is just what I think. Make of it what you will.

Please don’t rush into a relationship just for the sake of one, you just graduated college , now you get to have your first job, move into your first apartment in whatever town you want! Decorate it how you want, date around and find the one you truly want , not just anyone! It’s your time to find your style, your independence , who you want to be as an adult and you you want to be tied to, what kind of person! You get to make new friends and go out on girls nights and meet cute guys get all dolled up ! Get into the gym it will help you feel good and strong , eat some fruits they have a lot of vitamin c that will help you feel good too!! Do whatever you want to do! It’s your time! Once you get tied down that’s it you can’t flirt with cute guys anymore , you can’t go wherever you want and do whatever you want anymore it’s all on the man’s schedule and catering to him and it can be miserable if you don’t get a chance to live your life first!

Riley, I think what you are feeling is very common for people post graduation.
I personally didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life either. I didn’t get a 4 year degree, but I did get my associates in programming.
Some things that really helped me:
1) don’t compare yourself to others! Everyone has their own timeline for starting a family and finding love. I’m 26 and still looking for someone to settle down with.
2) The thing with money is that once you have it, you will always want more. I think it’s super important to live within your means (even for entrepreneurs).
3) Some RUclipsrs would kill to have the amount of subscribers and reach you have! I think it’s very important to look at everything you’ve accomplished in your life vs what you haven’t accomplished. If you can reflect by journaling for 20 minutes a day, I promise you that you will become happier.
4) One thing that’s really helped me is reverse engineering the end of my life. I want to be able to say “wow, I’m really glad I made apps. I at least put in the effort”. Think about what the ideal Riley looks like 10 years from now and take small actionable steps to get there.
5) Please take it one day at a time! We may think about our future a lot, but we live in the present.
6) Establishing meaningful friendships and being close to family really helps with happiness.

Hey Riley, hope you see this. I’ve been following your channel for three years now. You helped my mental state when there seemed nothing good during covid. You inspired me to fly 8000 miles away to pursue my undergraduate degree in the US, when I hadn’t even stepped out of my country ever before. You showed that life can still be meaningful during depressing times. Believe it or not, I don’t know about anyone but at least for me, you had a huge impact. You’re creating impact on other people’s lives Riley. When you say you have no motivation left, you don’t know what to work for, you don’t have a purpose, you’re heavily undermining yourself. There are thousands who are inspired by you Riley, please keep going. It hurts me to see you going through this phase of life, but trust me, everything’s gonna get better. You have me and many thousands of loyal supporters who still get a smile on their face when they see a video of yours pop up. If not for yourself, at least for me and for us, keep going. Everything’s gonna get fine okay. At the end, you should always have faith in God, as you always do!
When I first saw this video I got what you were saying but now, watching this in a very similar time of my life, I understand. This feeling sucks. But we’re gonna make it by the grace of God and when we do we’re gonna look back and see how much we needed these lost, out of control, confused feelings. We’re so close to our blessing girl. I relate to this so much… especially the “I never thought I’d not be married or not have a boyfriend by now”…. We obviously don’t need somebody to complete us. However, I’ve grown up being taught that marriage is a gift and when you have somebody it means that you’ve “made it”. I feel this hard. I’m 25 and get it 100% .
Im 43, when I was your age same thing happened to me. What helped was joining new clubs, find new hobbies, creating small buisnesses and that helped me meet new people, find new perspectives and then one day when I least expected I met my husband. We got married 6 months later. It is normal what is happening to you, you just want to force yourself to shift and try new things. You can do it! You are a beautiful, smart, young woman and you inspire us everytime we see you. We learn so much from you, dont give up.

Hey Riley! I’m 19, going into my sophomore year of college. I just found out last semester I’ll be graduating my junior year, which has really hit me hard the last couple months, knowing I’ll have to be completely independent by 21 when I graduate. It’s a stressful time, and I’ve been worried about my direction career wise and financially. I actually feel very comforted by this video, it’s nice to know you’re not the only one in a similar situation. All I can say is we are where are for a reason, and if it brings you any comfort at all, you’re not alone!!
Also, I think post-grad content would be great for everyone feeling similar to you! It’s encouraging to see, and I really think it would be helpful. Even if you’re just documenting day to day life, it really helps some of us to see relatable content that can make us feel like we’re not alone, and it’s not impossible to get through this phase!

Most people people don't have jobs right after college and end up right back at home for a little while and that's ok but you go to college to get a job in the career you want but that hardly ever happens but that's ok. Iam 40 and my words to alot of you Youngs kids are do something you enjoy and don't let yourselves fall into a routine to where it's sleep, go to work, go home every day of your life.
Girl, I think you’re putting way way too much pressure on yourself to get married. Getting married is not going to make you happy, it should only add to your happiness. Getting married isn’t going to fulfill you. If you go into relationships thinking that, you will take whoever comes your way and they will most likely not deserve you. Try not to push yourself so much, let it come to you. The best things come to those who wait. I know it’s hard, I can’t even imagine, but patience is so important. We need to be happy now or we’ll regret it later. I would love watching any video you make even if you’re just sitting on the couch. I love watching routine, it makes me feel relaxed and soothes me. hey, i normally don’t comment on youtube videos but i feel really pulled to. i started watching you in my junior year and i just got through the first year of college. you really are someone i look up to BECAUSE of your authenticity and relatability. not only as a student, someone that has always been single and yearns to be in a relationship, but most of all your security in God. what i’ve been learning in these “in-between” seasons is that He WANTS and WILL give the desires of your heart but there is a reason for the pause. keep your eyes on Him in the midst of the storm. He gives us these seasons of being lost in this world, to remember to be secure in God, remain in His Word, scream and cry at Him all you need to. He’s the only satisfying love. He’s there and listening, equipping, healing, building character, and endurance in you. discovering and being secure in the only unconditional love and grace that exists, Him, will help prepare us for things even BIGGER than we expect. He will fulfill you. He meets us where we’re at. I encourage you to read the prodigal son (Luke 15), that really helped me heal from this idea of God being so distant and almost condemning/legalistic and taking away that forceful feeling of going to church. i wish i could keep going on and on,, but just know we love you ♥️.

& he repeat/redo things too, & thats clear, we see many cycles of different things in life, also in summer for example the desert land becomes like empty and is filled with only sand, and when rain falls in abundance in spring or winter, after that small flowers & wild plants grow again, also, we see how humans and animals grow and how their body is formed from the elements which were in the sand which plants feed on which they eat, and after they die they go to the sand and their atoms/elements are taken by plants which humans & animals eat and their bodies grow from those atoms & elements found in the sand which came from previous humans & animals which died before, so God can bring us again after we die even if our atoms became in the sand he can make us from the same atoms we were made of or from other atoms if he want or make us be in a spirit form or like ghosts, any ways, everything in this life is recycled, learn if you want about the different cycles in life in nature, the food cycle or food chain, the water cycle, even the gas cycle that makes the air the oxygen &carbon dioxide &nitrogen cycles, even the energy is like recycled but only changes from form to another form.
Anyways, God created this life but it's only a temporary sample/an example of a coming everlasting one
which could be either in heaven paradise or in hell.
If we try to be good humans in life, and try to obey God and his messengers-including the final messenger for all humanity the prophet Mohammed- and those whom rightly represent them, for example imam Ali & ahlulbayt the family/good descendants of the prophet mohammed, then we will all go to heaven/paradise, if not then we will go to hell fire and burn in it forever.

I have very few friends and I have been angry and sad about this stage of my life since I started college. Recently something just clicked in my mind that I am actually soo grateful that I have the people in my life that I do have. I felt this a little too much. I'm currently at my desk staring to my university readings and feeling absolutely nothing. Growing up this is what I always wanted. To finally move out of home and start my life. I have been questioning my major and trying to ask myself if this is really what I want to do but more importantly is this what God wants me to do. I feel no sense of direction and my motivation is rock bottom. When you starting saying all these things I shed a few tears because even though I am also in college in my second year, i'm repeating my first year. I started this year with so many goals and so much motivation but as it has continued I dont even know I this is for me or if i'm called to do something different entirely. Now that the year is almost over I almost feel it is too late but the second trimester has just begun. I literally have no idea what i want to do but I have so many people telling me what I should be doing

I’m the same way in terms of having a go-getter mentality and that mentality making me feel unproductive at monotonous times in life. The main thing that I’ve found helps is lowering your expectations about how exciting and new day-to-day life needs to be. Realize that not every day needs to be thrilling and exciting for it to be valuable/beautiful. Some days and experiences are, but mostly, that’s just not reality. The beautiful thing about your life right now is you seem to have the room to explore everything life has to offer! Try a new job, volunteer, read a lot or commit to a new hobby you’ve been wanting to try for a while, push yourself into experiences you may not naturally have, and life will fall into place as you start to figure out what you like and don’t like. Even if there’s nothing you particularly want to do, just choose something and run with it.
I agree with another comment I saw that Haley Pham is a great model of a post-school influencer who finds ways to make her life a little more exciting while also being content with her daily routine.

I feel similarly to you, Riley. I’m 23 unmarried, in grad school, and just feel like I’m floundering. I know I’m still young, but growing up in the church it’s hard seeing people younger than me married with kids. That’s something I’ve always wanted and know it will come, but just not yet. Something I have to remind myself is that once I get married I will never be single and childless for the rest of my life. It’s taken me so long, but I’m trying to appreciate the single childless life and focus on myself as much as I can.
Also, your videos bring me so much joy. Even if it’s a simple video, it motivates me to have more discipline, take better care of my body, and focus more on my faith. Sending you so much love. You will do what is best for you and we will all embrace it alongside you ❤️

Ah Riley, there are so many people that don’t know what they want to do in their early twenties. It’s fine. The hardest thing is after you compare yourself where ur friends or ur parents were at your age, you think you’re behind. But it’s not true at all. Live out your passions, live life to the full. This is what your twenties are for trust me. You are smart enough and you’ve proved it with a degree. Now you can focus on doing things that make you happy. The expectations you have for ur self are incredibly high and because you’re not doing it, you’re disappointed. MOST PEOPLE GO THROUGH THIS. Hey! I just came across your channel because I felt the same way at the moment. I just graduated my sophomore year of highschool and while I have plans, it's been about a week into summer and I don't feel accomplished. There are so many things I want and need to do, but do I feel motivated? Not really. Do I feel guilty that as the days keep going and going, I'm putting more pressure on myself and the people around me? Of course. Moments like these, while they may not be shared online, are honestly more normal and average and constant than the others. You know how on a TV show time passes between events so that a storyline can happen? Those episodes that us viewers get to see are just a segment, a tiny tiny tiny sliver of life of those characters, of you and me and everyone else, and the behind the scenes, the unwanted days and weeks and months of even years are part of the story! They are just pieces of the puzzle that make up the intricate story that is each and every person. Self-doubt, confusion, loss, emptiness are worth sharing, honestly (like with how honest you were in this video) is WORTH SHARING because not only are you not alone, but so so so many others can feel relief by the fact that others can relate to the emotions. I guess my point is that as you speak, I can see myself and I find a sort of comfort in that, because I know that the broken part of life is something worth going through, because it can push us to higher levels of awareness and growth that we never could find before. I know we're in different places of our lives and this might all seem like terrible advice or worthless but I really really appreciate you sharing this and I will remember this, because these emotions and feelings are memorable and important. hey girl! let me just tell you that most of us are just as lost as you are and that is okay! there's a whole life in front of us and we'll figure it out. in time. you filming this and showing that vulnerable side which no one does actually means SO MUCH for all those struggling with this. i am in a quite similar situation like you are and i just try to cherish even the calm times in life. not every day, not every year of our life needs to be full of somethings. there will be times when it's difficult to count even one exciting thing in a day, but it's okay. do not be afraid to show us the 'deserted' point of your life, if anything, we won't feel like the only ones.

Hey Riley! First of all, I have recently found your channel and I just love you and your personality since the first video. Honestly, I wasn't focused on what you did in the videos, I just loved seeing your positive and bubbly self! it is okay to not know what way to turn or what you are doing in life. I will be praying for you! You will figure it out one way or the other and God will do the rest! Love you so much!!!
Riley my heart goes out to you for the struggles you have right now. One thing I did hear you say and I hope it sticks with you. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Even if it is YT content or to be married. Approach both as you did running a race- train for it (life skills such as travelling, developing new hobbies, taking classes at the gym, activities within your church) so you will meet new people and perhaps the person you were meant to marry. Some of those things you can use for YT channel content. Even the books you are reading you can do discussions or recommendations for YT. And for all of those who are struggling as you see friends getting things (spouse, job, parenthood etc.) that you haven't accomplished yet, life isn't a race it is a journey and seldom are we are on the same part at the same time. Keep pushing forward and working towards your goals...your time will come.

But you get to explore yourself and focus on yourself just a little more. Then he will come so easily and quickly that you won't even realize how you got married.

“Having issues” doesn’t lessen your self worth or make you any less of a person.. you can still be an amazing person and loved even with issues. I struggle a lot with anxiety and overthinking & worried for the longest time that my bf would ultimately leave me for not wanting to deal with it anymore, but u know u have found ur person when they not only can look past that, but also cherish that about u bc it’s what makes you you. I know that sounds cliche but I truly mean it. My bf & I have been together for almost 3 years. U May think u have nothing going for u rn, but let me tell u. U are wrong. You’re beautiful inside and out, hardworking, intelligent, have an amazing smile, athletic, everything. ❤ keep ur head up & surround urself by like minded ppl that share ur values. Join adult groups in ur community to meet ppl. Don’t open urself up to ppl who don’t deserve it. Don’t settle bc u are worth so much more than that. Heya, I don’t want to cross a boundary or anything here. But maybe therapy would be useful, I had to drop out of university a while ago due to mental health and felt I lost all my purpose and felt like my life plan had fallen apart. But having someone to talk to, work through everything and have that neutral space to just be open helped me so much. It took a while getting used to, being able to be completely open but it has completely changed my outlook on life. It isn’t for everyone, but it might be something that could be useful. Obviously therapy isn’t feasible for everyone, but changing the self talk is the main thing I took away.
Also, you are an inherently valuable person. Not that you don’t know that, but no matter if you’re a wife or a mother or neither, you always have value as a person and always will. I’ve enjoyed your videos through Covid especially, they made me feel less alone going through university, always making me laugh.

I'm a soon 21 year old, a rising senior in college, but am already feeling lost: no internship, no relationships, no clear career directions. This season is difficult, but remember that it is normal for our age and for post-grad to feel lost. "For everything there is a season" (Ecclesiastes 3:1). But seasons are ever-changing. Especially with social media, there is a ton of pressure to keep producing, to keep entertaining. The reality, however, is that our lives are not meant for entertainment. We are made firstly for relationship with the Lord. Our identity, our lives, our hopes, our plans are all rooted firstly in Him.

Let’s be friends because I’m in the exact same boat my girl!!!🙌🏼 It’s so discouraging to feel directionless in EVERY ASPECT of life! And nobody prepares you for it! Nobody talks about the possibility of being in your 20s and feeling like you don’t know what to do when it seems that everyone around you is getting married and starting a successful career etc etc. Especially when you are someone of faith and you are doing all the “right things” and you feel like the blessings aren’t coming or the Lord isn’t making His will known.
Something I am CONSTANTLY being reminded is that it’s not necessarily about what you DO but who you are and who you’re becoming. Remember the grand plan that God has for you! The most important thing is to stay loyal to the covenants you’ve promised to the Lord and line upon line things will work out. Easier said than done of course.

Literally everything you said resonated me. I’m 21 about to graduate too and I was so lost and depressed about what I wanted to do in life. Stressed about a career because I don’t have a driving passion for anything in my field meanwhile everyone else seems like they do. All I can say that helped me is just take every possible opportunity to help you cross out things and navigate you toward things you might like and never knew you needed! :)
Riley I don't know if this helps, but I don't watch your channel for the content you make, but because of the person you are. You are so real, and I definitely need that going through my twenties. Your thoughts on these topics are so important, and listening to you feels like I'm with one of my best friends because of how real you are! First off, thank you for being so vulnerable. As a 23 year old, I can relate so much to not knowing what I'm doing or where I'm going. It's hard when college ends and you don't have a clear direction or goal anymore! Second, God loves you so much and doesn't rely on your works. You don't need to be so focused on self-improvement and bettering yourself. Yes, growth is important and needed, but let the Holy Spirit do that within you. It's His work, not yours. Regarding your content, I really don’t think you need to put labels on anything you do. I watch your videos because you inspire me, not what you do but who you are as a person. Yes, seeing you challenge yourself and being brutally honest with you experiences is such an inspiration and great motivation, but honestly you could rumble on about anything for 30 minutes and I would still watch it, because I find you super interesting as a person. Your just going through a rough patch but I know everything is going to work out great for you because you have a great head on your shoulders. You should look at Haley Pham! She is married but her husband isn’t the main vibe of all her content. It’s really about her figuring out how to transition into her twenties successfully and a love diary to everything that makes her happy! Linda Sun is also a great post-grad transition channel. I also just graduated college and it’s weird but I promise even without direction there’s plenty of things to do be excited about that don’t necessarily have to revolve around romantic relationships ❤
Don’t worry. You have a lot: friends, family,… the other things will come around at some moment. And hobbies change. Embrace the change, you will be okay, I am sure!!

I'm in the same phase of life right now and here's what I've taken out of it this far. Maybe this will help/apply maybe it won't. If you can't be stable and secure by yourself and figure out your life and what you want you won't be able to be secure in a relationship. This is why we have this phase of life to show us ,okay ,we first have to become independent and prepare ourselves to build a stable and healthy relationship and family before actually being able to have it. You will find your path and will grow into your dream of getting married and building a family. Give yourself grace and time. ❤

Hi I came back because I suddenly remembered your old highschool videos remember when you graduated from highschool in covid I just started my freshman year and now I'm a senior too it's so weird seeing you grow up!
Your videos are awesome and although I’ve never watched most of the things you post, I relate to what you’re going through. I’m 25 and I’m struggling with most of my classes because it’s overwhelming. You will make it through this. You don’t have to know what to study. Just start somewhere. It’s a beautifully darkening beginning that’ll get better.
Stop reducing yourself to a husband, your happiness should never depend on a man loving you, that is toxic. You are young, use that time to become independent, to travel and meet new places and new people. Everything will sort itself out. And work in your self esteem, love yourself first, go to therapy if you need to. Do not live for others approval, ever. And stop with the self deprecation and the "I should be married". No, you should not, not yet. You should be enjoying life, because one day you will be too old to do those things and there is not going back. Do things for yourself, not for others, once you meet people and have more life experiences you will find things that make you happy, things to share with everyone if you want to, and eventually people to share your life with, if that is what you want. The key is share, not being dependent. For the love of god, people, stop trying to live by what others say or do, live for you. Don't follow trends, those come and go, and don't expect to be the person that changes the world either. Start by feeling happy with yourself and work your way up. And people do care, about you. Not about your idea of living for a husband. Talk about what matters to you.

So much comfort and happiness can be taken from the simple things of a routine. We often times live so much in the future that we miss out on the only thing that we have: the present moment. Riley, I've been off of youtube for over a month, but I logged back in today to watch your video. When I realized you'd posted I just had to watch it, because you are always so encouraging. As a Christian, it's refreshing to watch someone else who believes in God just sort of... doing life. I love your videos, no matter how 'boring' they may seem. Many others have commented about how you seem so much more real than other youtubers, and I 100% echo that yet again. No one, not even those who believe in God, portrays a realistic life anymore. On camera, everyone is perfect.
I also thought I would be married by now. I'm about to turn twenty, and I've never had a boyfriend, a first kiss... anything. It helps when others like you show that they are feeling the same way. Sharing discouragement can be a way to encourage. Your real-life videos manage to shine Jesus into my life every time you post, just by the simple reminder that we don't need to be perfect all the time. God has a path for everyone, even if it isn't always clear. I know He will provide for you.

The universe science says was not always there, it had a beginning point, the big bang, meaning it was begun/initiated in other words created, thus there should be a creator,

& he repeat/redo things too, & thats clear, we see many cycles of different things in life, also in summer for example the desert land becomes like empty and is filled with only sand, and when rain falls in abundance in spring or winter, after that small flowers & wild plants grow again, also, we see how humans and animals grow and how their body is formed from the elements which were in the sand which plants feed on which they eat, and after they die they go to the sand and their atoms/elements are taken by plants which humans & animals eat and their bodies grow from those atoms & elements found in the sand which came from previous humans & animals which died before, so God can bring us again after we die even if our atoms became in the sand he can make us from the same atoms we were made of or from other atoms if he want or make us be in a spirit form or like ghosts, any ways, everything in this life is recycled, learn if you want about the different cycles in life in nature, the food cycle or food chain, the water cycle, even the gas cycle that makes the air the oxygen &carbon dioxide &nitrogen cycles, even the energy is like recycled but only changes from form to another form.
Anyways, God created this life but it's only a temporary sample/an example of a coming everlasting one
which could be either in heaven paradise or in hell.
If we try to be good humans in life, and try to obey God and his messengers-including the final messenger for all humanity the prophet Mohammed- and those whom rightly represent them, for example imam Ali & ahlulbayt the family/good descendants of the prophet mohammed, then we will all go to heaven/paradise, if not then we will go to hell fire and burn in it forever.

Riley, dear, this is something that we all went through at your age. I just want you to know that these feelings are legit-and that you're not alone. I'm 20 years older than you and still feel my life isn't very exciting, but people tell all the time they feel the same way. It's okay to seek counsel in this phase of life-- it's very common to have these doubts and hopeless feelings. Try not to beat yourself up. Take a break, volunteer, go on a mission trip-- take time to live in this new phase of life without the camera. Read, read, read. It will open up your mind! You're beautiful, hilarious, and important to this world. Deep breaths, you have a very long time to figure it out and you'll reinvent yourself multiple times. Post grad depression is very real!!!!!!

I feel 100% the same way about needing to get married. That’s always been my goal and my dream and I haven’t wanted or needed anything more. It’s not because I NEED a man to be happy or satisfied but it’s more of I need to be a wife/mom to be my full self. So I fully get that part of what you’re saying. All I see is couples my age getting engaged and married. It’s hard, but your time will come and you will feel the way you want to feel

Riley! You literally inspire me so much. Ever since I found you on RUclips which was in 2020 I have looked up to you. You got me through high school. I relate on so many different levels to this video. I am not post college graduate, in fact I am just going into my sophomore year of college at byu. When I graduated high school it was my DREAM to go to SVU because of you, but the Lord needed me at byu. Anyways, ever since that, my life plan has turned completely upside down. I thought I would be on a mission as soon as I turned 19, and when that didn’t happen everything else in my “perfect” plan seems to fall apart. I don’t know what your plan is right now, from what you said in this video, it seems as if you don’t either. Maybe you’ve been told this a million times and your sick of hearing it, but you should come move to Provo. Part of why I wanted to go to SVU is because I didn’t want to go to byu because of all the stigmas around it. My freshman year was the best year of my life (despite the many challenges and disappointments I faced). But I think you should seriously consider moving to Provo whether it’s to work or go to grad school, I don’t know. But being able to have the community it provides is life changing. And the boys there are great. There are a lot of options lol, and so many of them are amazing and it’s hard not to meet someone because everyone wants to date so everyone is asking people on dates. Provo is fun, it’s real, it’s so lively, and might be a good option🤷♀️ whatever you do, I hope to watch you do it because I love seeing someone so similar to me and you truly inspire me. I look forward to every video you post, even the ones you may feel like are “boring.” I always finish them feeling better and motivated!

She’s 27 and still single, but she gives the best advice. She has several books that really help. Everything will be ok! 😘♥️
You are SOOO young! Don’t worry about not being married, being Mormon is hard on young women because they think they need to be married so freaking young! No. Do you! Travel, do things YOU want to do. Do not be so hard on yourself, reach out for help. You are way too young to think you need to be married and with kids. You have time! I am Mormon and married at 20. I’m 43 now and I have a son who is my life. 6:16 Do you!! All things meant for you come when they are meant to!
