As a person who has tried every kind of exercise, I have finally realized that walking is something I have to be able to do for the rest of my life so I better do it everyday. I love Pilates and swimming, but I have to walk forever. At 75, I walk 5 miles a day and always try to find a pretty place to do it.
I could not agree more. I have been walking daily, sometimes twice daily since 2019 and it has absolutely changed my life. I am 65 years old, still a size 6, currently take no medication‘s and I am convinced I can out walk anyone. 0:00
I think we’re in the same boat! I just turned 76 and after having a stroke in September of 2022 (luckily no physical setbacks, except about 15-20 percent dizziness) I decided to up my walking mileage. I have always kept physically fit, and the stroke is still such an enigma. Anyway, I set a goal to walk 1000 miles last year which I did. I have now written articles for different publications regarding the absolute benefits of walking at this age. I continue to walk now in 2024 at distances further than last year. Just want to encourage seniors to walk walk walk. The results are tremendously beneficial. I am returning this summer to hiking and camping, as I have always done, in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Good luck to everyone….happy walking!
Ahhh, the timing! I've been feeling stuck lately, and I know the benefits of walking for my mental and physical health. Today, I went with some friends on a trail. We stopped to take in the sounds, and boop, there go my glasses, down, down, down, and into the water! I tried to get them, fell in, and had a heck of a time getting out and back up the hill 😂 we laughed our butts off. Laughter and exercise! Keep up the good work, Adelina
I'm a senior who walks outside almost every day. My primary care doctor said it is not only good for me physically but also mentally. My cardiologist told me to keep walking and keep that blood flowing. I feel so much better after my walks.
I’ve been walking almost daily for many years. I can really notice how I feel when I DO NOT walk. It’s important for me to walk mentally and physically.
❤ Adelina, hi 👋 Greetings from Kazan, RU. A sync happened - I went for a walk to the Volga river before sunset, opened RUclips and here you are with the video about benefits of walks ❤ I used to walk on a daily basis from January till March 2024 until I got a plantar fascia... and then all stopped. So now I'm trying to get back on the track. Thank you so much and let's praise the Lord
I'm sending you some courage. When I got a pretty bad Covid, I had to stop walking completely for more than 2 months, and my return to walking was miserable. It took me 3 months to come back to my usual pace, but it was worth the efforts ! My advice would be to give yourself grace, and keep walking as often as possible, at the pace you're comfortable with and for how long you can. Eventually, it will come back. Persistance is the key. Good luck !
As humans we don’t have all the answers but there is one that has. In nature you do feel Him, the creator of it all. I think you are feeling Him calling you out. God loves us and does want a relationship with Him for our good! Bless you Adelina…I love walking and sometimes I have promised myself to do a certain amount of walks like #50 or #30 and it does get me out to accomplish that. Then I post pics from my walks on my FB page to keep myself accountable. I might do it again. Thanks for sharing. Love and hugs❤️
So agree with you Adelina on the benefits of walking. I finally got back to my daily routine of going out first thing for my walk and I already feel better. I find one good habit also prompts others - like making sure I drink enough water each day as I’m terrible about that. And of course - making better food choices. Thank you as always for sharing your beautiful part of our amazing country. Have a wonderful walking week!
I’m with you on this. I walk minimally 10km a day. It’s the only exercise I enjoy. It has been so beneficial to my mental health. I do have some mental health struggles, and walking gives me clarity and a space to allow my brain to be silent. Just smelling all the trees and the breeze off the ocean triggers good sensations for me.
Thanks for the great walk…..I live close to Lake Ontario and although it’s not my “Tofino”I go there to walk almost every day. You are so right….it clears your head and no matter what the weather is it’s always lovely.
Such a great motivating video Adelina - thank you! I am trying to do the same, but at the moment, it’s a little stop start lol. Must keep working on this healthy habit & many thanks, for the lovely reminder. Enjoy your picturesque walking! xo 😘
It is weird how you don't realize what the outdoors does to you until you stop going outdoors. It makes me grumpy and "depressed" Like you I work from home and I do the "commute" thing too. But then things pile up and I forget it for a while. And after a while it then becomes this big thing to do, I think about it longer than actually doing it. The trick is to tell myself to stop thinking and just go, and that also can help 🙂Being my own mom ;-) Thanks for the reminder, and the video and for taking the time to film, edit and post this, taking us along and show the beauty of nature and inspiring us Btw; I also, feel the neck and shoulder pains, I do get massages, but I also bought this Shiatsu (spelling???) massage thing at Lidl a few weeks ago. It is a strap that you can lay around your neck or back and for 10 minutes at a time it is like two capable hands are getting the knots out. It even gets warm, I love it
I also work remotely and always thought I would walk at lunch, but it doesn’t work for me either because I am thinking about what I need to do the rest of the day. During this beautiful spring - fall, I am going to commit to getting off the computer in a timely manner at the end of the day and set a goal of walking at least 2 days after work and build up to daily. I appreciate the idea of thinking of a walk as the time I would have been previously commuting in the car. I find more problems with stiffness in my hands than back issues with sitting all day, because of writing and typing.
That was therapeutic on a few levels.😊 I felt like I was walking with you. The shots you got of the scenery was calming & breathtaking. And the trees made me teary. 🥹 And how the roots were exposed on some, one of them making a staircase for you, 🌳🥰
I agree with everything you say about the benefits of walking. For me, the frosting on the cake would be the river and/or ocean. Just watching this video, I realize that I love driftwood, rocks, and stones, so if I had your environs, I’d probably drag home a few treasures every time I walk…..🤣.
I LOVE my walks. On a good day I can get in three. But it's usually two--morning break and at lunch. But I have joined--and I can't even believe I did this because I always said I hated gyms--a gym. I love feeling like I'm getting stronger. And I especially love being a dork old woman in my dork old clothes dorking it up with all the kids getting jacked and ripped. One of my favorite books about being outside and how good it is for humans is The Nature Fix by Florence Williams. If you're ever struggling with motivation to get out for your walk this book will zap that in an instant and make you want to walk for days.
You truly live in a beautiful spot. A lovely spot for a walk. I sit at home working too. The job is so much pressure I rarely get up unless the dogs need to go out. In March, I had major Lumbar surgery and I'm still healing. I'm sure sitting did not help the 2 herniated discs and scoliosis that I deal with. I am trying to build up my stamina so I can walk. Hopefully one day I can start walking like you.
Wonderful to listen to you and watch the scenery behind you. I garden for an hour or 2 each morning as I work in the afternoon. I enjoy making our yard look beautiful and its peaceful at 6:30 a.m.in our neighborhood. I eat breakfast feeling energized and ready for the day. However, if I had an ocean nearby, I'd go there first, then garden. Great Video! Thanks
I have the same experience as you. Regarding stress and anxiety, I think the benefits come from the fact that stress is often an anticipation of what will/could happen in the future. When walking, you are fully in the present moment, especially if you walk without music or audiobook. And "here and now" is often less stressful than any future event.
I also have found (for several years now) the benefits of daily walks, for all the reasons you mentioned. You have an awesome place to walk. Take care.
I just came across this wonderful video while doing my cubii, love it. I am in recovery from a brain surgery. Presently, I am working up to walking and moving day by day.
I love your random thoughts about walking. They're right on! I have a job being on my feet alot but have been working on going for a walk after work too. To clear my mind and relax my exhausted body. Thank you for your inspiration. I know it will help me to walk more. Because, you are right, even a short walk, makes a big difference! I can happily picture you walking by one of my favorite beaches. 😅 ❤ Sue
I loved this video. I find the same benefits you mentioned. An the cool thing is that all you need is your shoes - no special equipment needed. Being outside and moving is so beneficial. Enjoy that ocean air for me! I love the ocean so much.
Your walk is just so beautiful and peaceful. I’ve been walking a couple months most every day and I too have noticed only very great results. Especially my mental state of being and also less stiffness. So glad to find you. You came up on home page. Maybe cause I’ve been posting daily walk videos😊
You always have good ideas. This time you had pretty scenery. I have heard if you walk for at least 30 minutes you start to burn calories. So I try to walk for an hour. Lately I have just been cleaning and yardwork. That makes me feel good. Because I got something done and out of the house. I have also heard if you park far away from the store or whatever. You get exercise that way. Or walk up stairs instead of the elevator as another way of exercising. Or just pick up a five pound bag of potatoes, a couple of times.😊 Have a good week.
Yes! Walking is good for us. I now walk🚶♂️🚶♀️on a regular basis... It all started as a teen, it decreased throughout my thirties for at least two decades then restarted again. I have lived in five states including Alaska. In all of those places I have walked long distances. After our son was born I pushed the stroller, then as he grew we walked to parks consistently. He is now grown n I walk solo during the week. It has done wonders for my mind too. My dear husband has bad knees and can no longer walk very much. We go for rides in his bike 🛵 All the effort helps his mind and body (getting off n on). There's much benefit in getting out in nature. 🌞
I love that you’re doing this Adelina and your surroundings must certainly make it easier to get your butt out the door! I’m planning a whole new focus on health too, once I’m in my new home. Hugs for you and Soph! ❤
Recently i have had some health issues so my heart dr recommended walking 4 to 5 days 30 to 45 mins a day. I walk daily 2.5 to 4 miles along the river right behind my house. My blood pressure has gone down, i feel much better and love the nature sounds which calms and takes stress away. I even gave up the ride on mower for a self-propelled mower on my acre of land. Keep up the good work
If my area looked like yours I’d be walking more too. I am retired now so getting the house ready to sell so maybe soon I can live somewhere nice too and walk my heart out. Thanks Adelina!!
I do wish I could go for walks, safely. Since having the vaccine I often get lightheaded it's awful and scary. I have passed out twice luckily once was in my garden and the other in my living room. The first time I injured my head the 2nd time I missed the coffee table by a couple of centimetres. So I am scared to be out alone in my village however I do go walking when my son takes our dogs, I'm still terrified about passing out but I'm with my son rather than a stranger. Xx
Beautiful Places to walk. And the information you shared is very inspiring. I do walk often. And it is a positive mood changer. Thank you for taking me on your walk.
I usually start walking on a regular basis in the spring, summer & fall. This year I'm late doing that so your video is timely. The benefits are huge. Good for you & thanks for the reminder to walk again. ♥️🐈💐
Thanks for sharing Adelina! What you said made so much sense. The views are so beautiful. Glad that you are blessed to behold them!! Hope you have a great week and ty for the encouragement 🥰
Love your commute home routine. When I worked my commute home was sometimes long and stressful. So getting home was beneficial as I knew I had to walk my dog. So we would walk the yard (about an acre) three times around. Sadly I lost my dog so my walks are solo up and down the driveway for about 18 minutes giving me a mile. Thouh of late I have to be aware are the air quality due to the Canadian fires and allergies. When that happens I go on my stationary walker.
I was a home health care worker working in clients homes. One client was concerned about her cat if she went into the hospital. Ask me if I wanted a cat. I had just lost my dog so I said yes as I was all by myself. So I readily agreed. I never told her that her cat was never a anti social. The fact that she had nine windows to actually look out was her blessing. Have had Katie Kat for 6 years now and she's a character. I always said we rescue each other. 👍🐈 Thanks care and todos to Sophie 😺
5lbs is huge with your prior size. Good for u! 👏. (Edit: meaning you were small to begin with, not over weight by any means, smaller u are harder to lose, u know what i mean). I gained 25lbs these past 2 winters, bummed out about not being able to go south in my truck camper for first time yet, covid border blocks, then this year truck part on back order. So stupid thinking food would make me feel better, that was 20 yr old stupid thinking. Now i'm struggling to get it back off...it hopefully will happen eventually 🙃. Your little talk was another kick in the arse for me to stay on track, it's helpful. 🍻
Love the hikers, i bought the same ones, so comfy and keep the feet dry. ...and they just look cool 😎 lol I stopped daily walking ( i do beach walk twice a week with a friend), but good reminder to start again, daily, even if only 10 minutes a day.
I started trying to walk 20 minutes after my elderly dog died Nd often my walking turns into one to three hour walks, because of my RUclips videos. I often film nature things and get lost in my filming that the time just flies by
Good review of the benefits of walking! From the time I first started walking, my Grandmother and Aunties took me out for walks, so many memories! Walking has always been my exercise of choice, I am active in all sorts of ways, but walking is special. We have no easy access to walks of beauty such as yours where we live, so our daily walks follow the same old route every day. But we enjoy that, as it is surprising how much can change in a day in your surroundings. Today we found a capsized turtle by the side of the road, rescued it and took it to a wet area well away from the road, every day is different in the world if you are looking. Gyms and repetitive exercises are not for me, I am active doing things that enhance life in multiple ways, such as felling trees, burning brush, up and down stairs many times a day to bring and take things from food storage, cooking from scratch, canning and preserving, cleaning, well living a life of gardening, preserving, scratch cooking etc. makes for almost constant movement. No gyms for us, no fresh air there! My 93 year old Mom goes for daily walks, although she now has a walker it hasn't slowed her down much. I was walking with her through a lilac garden on the weekend and she not only kept up with her children, she was fine at the end of the walk, and we were exhausted.
GO Adelina! WELL DONE and you have such a wonderful place to walk! I also started trying to walk daily, but recently the weather and my knees are not agreeing with me:) ALL the BEST and ENJOY! Cheers :)
I love walking, but living in a subdivision, I get so bored with the same route! That keeps me from walking so many times. I don’t always wanna drive to somewhere else. I wish I lived somewhere closer to nature.
My husband and I speed walk 4 MI every morning. I am going through treatment for breast cancer even during my chemo I walked every day and now I'm in radiation and I walk every morning before I go and have radiation. I really feel that that has helped me with the side effects not having as many side effects from the treatments.
As a person who has tried every kind of exercise, I have finally realized that walking is something I have to be able to do for the rest of my life so I better do it everyday. I love Pilates and swimming, but I have to walk forever. At 75, I walk 5 miles a day and always try to find a pretty place to do it.
Good for you.. I'm 70 and I walk 4 MI every day
Wow. Wish I had done that years ago. I am 79. But when I was younger. I went dancing a lot , I loved it. I need to walk.
I could not agree more. I have been walking daily, sometimes twice daily since 2019 and it has absolutely changed my life. I am 65 years old, still a size 6, currently take no medication‘s and I am convinced I can out walk anyone. 0:00
That's awesome! 😁
Lungs are pumping and circulating all the fresh air and blood. Making you happy with life and your surroundings. The best part of your day. Smiling.
If I had all that scenery around me, heck, yeah I'd love walking outside. You're right about walking; mind and body.
Oh my gosh! I'm glad you didn't fall too! 😁
Hope you retrieved your glasses lol funny story
Unfortunately, I didn't!

I'm a senior who walks outside almost every day. My primary care doctor said it is not only good for me physically but also mentally. My cardiologist told me to keep walking and keep that blood flowing. I feel so much better after my walks.
Yes, I agree with him 😊.
So agree. Walking is good for the body and soul. Enjoy!
I’ve been walking almost daily for many years. I can really notice how I feel when I DO NOT walk. It’s important for me to walk mentally and physically.
Very true. 😊
I'm so glad! 😊
Good luck !
Amen
"my commute home" Thank you Adeline🥰
As humans we don’t have all the answers but there is one that has. In nature you do feel Him, the creator of it all. I think you are feeling Him calling you out. I love your shots showing the ocean lapping the rocks on the shoreline! So peaceful!
Glad you like them!
I love to walk!! Gives me time to sort my thoughts and breathe fresh air!! 😀❤
Exactly 😁
Loved this walking chat. The driftwood is amazing. ❤️🇨🇦
So agree with you Adelina on the benefits of walking. I finally got back to my daily routine of going out first thing for my walk and I already feel better. Wonderful!
Nice vlog
Hi,Adelina ,new subscriber 😊Watching you from UK 👍🌹🌈
Thanks for subbing!
Bravissima!! And don't forget how important catching sunlight plus exercise (walking) is to prevent osteoporose!
☺️
I’m with you on this. I walk minimally 10km a day. It’s the only exercise I enjoy. It has been so beneficial to my mental health. Such a great motivating video Adelina - thank you! I am trying to do the same, but at the moment, it’s a little stop start lol. Must keep working on this healthy habit & many thanks, for the lovely reminder. Enjoy your picturesque walking! xo 😘
My life exactly! Thanks for this.... :)
You are so welcome!
Nature is the greatest healer in so many ways! Great perspective! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
It really is!

Btw; I also, feel the neck and shoulder pains, I do get massages, but I also bought this Shiatsu (spelling???) massage thing at Lidl a few weeks ago. It is a strap that you can lay around your neck or back and for 10 minutes at a time it is like two capable hands are getting the knots out. It even gets warm, I love it
So true! A massage sounds good ☺️
Thank you for reinforcing that I should go for a walk ❤
😁

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You've hit the exact right spot as you so often do, for me. I'm very grateful for having found your channel.
You are so welcome 🤗
Thanking you SO much for your company! Where is this trail please.
Walking is the best and safest form of exercise. Least likely to get injured from walking compared to all other forms of exercise
Im doing this now too, being outside on the many trails around here, being in nature, is as therapeutic as the physicality of walking.. 😊
Wonderful!

Yes to walking for health and wellness!👍😊
🤗
Yeah I have found that a good walk out in nature is very healing both mentally and physically . I too deal with some anxiety occasionally.
I also have found (for several years now) the benefits of daily walks, for all the reasons you mentioned. You have an awesome place to walk. Take care.
Thanks 😁
Walking in nature is my therapy. Thankfully I live next to old railroad tracks along a stream that have been converted to a county park trail 🏞️
Sounds beautiful 😍
I just came across this wonderful video while doing my cubii, love it. I am in recovery from a brain surgery. Presently, I am working up to walking and moving day by day.

That is a beautiful place to walk. Are you that close to the ocean?Wow,, I live close to lake keystone . I thought you were close to a lake.
I'm close to the river but the ocean is only a few minutes drive ☺️.
I loved this video. I find the same benefits you mentioned. An the cool thing is that all you need is your shoes - no special equipment needed. Being outside and moving is so beneficial. Enjoy that ocean air for me! I love the ocean so much.
So true!
Congratulations on achieving your goal. ❤️to walk. Nature’s great free medicine. Beautiful filming. Thank you
Thank you so much!
You have such beautiful scenery around you! Being out in nature is an added bonus to exercise and the weight loss doesn’t hurt either. 😊

Yes, once you're settled back in your tiny house on wheels it will give you the time for some self care which I know you're needing. ❤️
I definitely do!❤
Recently i have had some health issues so my heart dr recommended walking 4 to 5 days 30 to 45 mins a day. I walk daily 2.5 to 4 miles along the river right behind my house. If my area looked like yours I’d be walking more too. I am retired now so getting the house ready to sell so maybe soon I can live somewhere nice too and walk my heart out. Thanks Adelina!!
Good luck 🙏🏼
You always get a shot in your talk where you make me laugh … “of course not … I’m a lazy ass!” lol Girl you make my day! Blessings! 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸😁
😁🤷🏻♀️
Your experience and willingness to share adds to the quality of my life. Thanks Adelina!
Thants so kind! You are so welcome 🤗
Xx
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that.
Beautiful Places to walk. And the information you shared is very inspiring. I do walk often. And it is a positive mood changer. Thank you for taking me on your walk.
You're welcome ☺️
I usually start walking on a regular basis in the spring, summer & fall. This year I'm late doing that so your video is timely. The benefits are huge. Good for you & thanks for the reminder to walk again. ♥️🐈💐
Perfect!
walking does make a person feel good
Thanks for sharing Adelina! What you said made so much sense. The views are so beautiful. Glad that you are blessed to behold them!!
Hope you have a great week and ty for the encouragement 🥰
You are so welcome!
Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry you lost your furry buddy 🥺❤️.
Good for you!
Love the hikers, i bought the same ones, so comfy and keep the feet dry. ...and they just look cool 😎 lol
I stopped daily walking ( i do beach walk twice a week with a friend), but good reminder to start again, daily, even if only 10 minutes a day.
I tell myself I just need to do 10 mins but I always do longer usually 45 to an hour ☺️.
I love driftwood. I envy you the scenery you have at your fingertips. Walking is such a pleasure and a gift for so many reasons, isn't it?
It really is ☺️
I started trying to walk 20 minutes after my elderly dog died Nd often my walking turns into one to three hour walks, because of my RUclips videos. I often film nature things and get lost in my filming that the time just flies by
thank you, I think this was the inspiration that I need!! Love the thinking of it as my commute home idea Happy walking
Thank you so much for sharing your story. And for rescuing Mr. Turtle 😍
Beautiful scenery for clearing your head ❤.
It really is!
Wow, such inspiring thoughts. Thank you! I love nature walks.
You are so welcome!
Great Advice!
Many Blessings
To You 💕
Thank you! You too!
Lovely! What a great way to complete your day! Cheers from Calgary!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much Adelina, for sharing this video with us. ❤
GO Adelina! WELL DONE and you have such a wonderful place to walk! I also started trying to walk daily, but recently the weather and my knees are not agreeing with me:) ALL the BEST and ENJOY! Cheers :)
You can do it!☺️
@@myBIGtinyhouselife :) THANKS MUCH for all you do and Share! WIll get back to more walking soon :) Take care!
Do love your video...thank you for sharing!!!❤
I can totally relate ❤
I love walking, but living in a subdivision, I get so bored with the same route! That keeps me from walking so many times. I don’t always wanna drive to somewhere else. I wish I lived somewhere closer to nature.
That can definitely be a challenge
My husband and I speed walk 4 MI every morning. I am going through treatment for breast cancer even during my chemo I walked every day and now I'm in radiation and I walk every morning before I go and have radiation. I really feel that that has helped me with the side effects not having as many side effects from the treatments.
I hope your recovery goes well ❤️.
Thank you, Adelina! 🩵
Welcome!
Hi Adelina, love your videos. What brand is the black striped hoodie your wearing? TIA!
Hi. It's a Lululemon hoodie I got at a second hand store ages ago. I love it.😊
Thank you for sharing this 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
You are so welcome
It is a beautiful area to walk in. When does it start to warm up there?
It's warming up now.
Nice❤
How long do you walk? June 1 is my retirement target date and I want to get out of the apartment as much as possible
When I'm not in the mood I tell myself that I'll go for just 10 mins. But I always go longer once I'm out. Usually 45 to an hour.
How soon after starting to walk have you started feeling better from a stress level? How long do you walk for?
I feel better almost right away 😊. How long varies but usually at least 1/2 hr.
Beautiful❤
Thank you! 😊
What will you do in the winter when its dark after work? I walk a lot in the summer but struggle in the winter to keep it up.
Not sure yet
Do you have any concerns about safety walking in an isolated area?
Not where I go 😊
I would l❤ve some of that driftwood.
Would Sophie be interested in joining you if she would tolerate a harness?
I wish! 😜🐈. She hates the harness. I'd be taking her for a 'drag' 😻.
Would it be nosy to ask what kind of work you do? Just curious. You seem to have work that you love.
What happened to your new Sunday video?😭😧
😊🥰
