I just traded my FK8 for an FL5, no regrets at all. All the creature comforts make it feel completely different, it's like a tier above when driving even though it's essentially the same car. Sound system, infotainment, the cruise control, the individual mode settings, way better.
I learned how to drive on a Pontiac Bonneville SSE. It was a 1991. Red with matching wheels. The car was so much fun to drive! So when you mentioned your old Bonneville, totally took me back lol
I have the FL2 Sport 6MT with the K20c2 and I love it so much. It ain't an FL5 Type R, but when that VTEC kicks in at 5400 RPM, I'm smiling the biggest smile.
Between the fk8 being a ricer from the factory, the AC issues, and busted brake stuff you posted about coming up in a future video, all the mods you have. I’d sell it as it and get the FL5. You’re getting older. In a good way. You’re finding that stock suspension and a couple mods for sound are the way to go. You’ve learned that modding, over time, creates reliability issues. All car enthusiasts go through this as we age. Will it hurt when you think about the fk8 sometimes? Maybe. But at the end of the day it’s just a car. And one day they’ll all be in a scrap pile anyway. It’s better to enjoy life while you can. And the FL5 is significantly nicer with way more features. From individual drive mode to lane centering. It’s a lot better.
Sorry for your loss Cameron, my grandfather passed away recently and he was the one who taught me how to drive. Bummer because as I’m older now all I do is eat sleep and live cars.
Nice! Also consider if you really need a FL5 and cost to you to upgrade. See if that lines up with other other financial priorities. You may be lookin at $12-$15K to upgrade on top of what you spent on the Highlander. $15K invested in a nice index fund with an average of 10% annual return will net you about $25K in 5 years. Unpopular opinion, but in the end of the day the whole you only live life once is overrated. Years from now, you will value your time more than ever. Financial independence is the best way to "own" your time. Read this again 10 years from now.
I go back and forth on either wanting a type R or getting a bmw M or M-lite. Definitely 2 different cars but watching your videos makes me want to get the type R to replace my 9th gen si
I will be getting an FL5 in the future. It has a nice amount of room for my 4 month old and a turbo engine. I have the NA Corolla hatchback now, and it's pretty tight with me, my husband, and my daughter. I'm sorry for your loss...
Nah you're definitely doing it right. If I had my car packed with stuff right next to my child like that, I'd be driving like a great great grandma. Safety is always the biggest priority, I think most of us drive safer when we have passengers in the car.
Well at least your daughter looked like she was having a better day since you didn't mention any illness or tantrums. The cat so it seemed kept her calm and entertained.
Throw the stock exhaust on and keep the downpipe. I have the TSP downpipe on my ITS and stock exhaust. Sounds great imo. Comfort mode is quiet in the cabin.
Always been a fan of doing just a downpipe with stock exhaust. Gives it some character but isn’t overly aggressive. Our kids tend to like it more too for a daily driver.
@@Superdimensional I love it as-well on my DE5. This is pretty much the same downpipe as the PRL high volume downpipe. Both have GESI cats but PRL discontinued their offering and TSP took off from where they left it.
I did the drive from Sacramento California back to my home in Palm Bay florida way back in 2009 when I was 20 years old. I had just been dumped by my girlfriend that I moved to California with with a year and a half prior and boy o boy all I wanted to do was get home and took the 5 to the 10 then down 95 in a 2004 Chevy impala. Did a lot of reflecting that ride but was able to do it in 2 and a half days. Slept one time for a few hours when I had just exited California into Arizona deep in the night and went straight through after that. Almost turned around half way when my then ex girlfriend found out I left and said sorry but bye then I had done enough reflecting to know my heart and home was here in Florida with my friends and family. Nothing like a long drive to really think about the important things in life. After that I don’t think I’ll ever drive that far again but yeah that drive is rough.

I used to think adaptive cruise control was the coolest thing ever on my 21 Accord 2.0T Touring until I realized that it could prematurely wear out the rear brake pads.
Bro... Your daughter is a trooper. She had no space to stretch her legs. I have an FK8 and driven an FL5.... no point on trading it... u can spend the money on making the FK8 more daily friendly... it sounds like thats what you are looking for ...FL5 prices plus interest rates not smart investment for a young family. I hope Vivian reads this lol
First things first My deepest condolences 💐 your Great Grandmother bro. Now eh yall are young man LOL, yall will learn how to move lighter and lighter as time goes on.
I havent used it during this trip, but I try to use my Shur MV88 microphone when I can. Other than that you are hearing audio recorded straight from my iPhone and my GoPro with the media mod
Is your downpipe catted? If so, can I call dibs on it once you’re back in NorCal? Also, wait and see if they’ll have a Limited Edition FL5 like the FK8 did and then decide from there!
Sell the mods and FK8 get a FL5 asap before they kill it off. When they get killed off for EV I assume they'll go way up in value. Maybe outta price range if wait too long and used not new
Hks legamax for absolutely no drone. Stock down pipe though. I have slight drone because I have solid motor mounts. Or a valvetronic muffler. I have an 89 fox body with the universal valvetronic muffler and 0 drone at any speed or rpm. Open is straight piped and closed muffler is quieter than oem fox body exhaust.
He installed the down pipe when he LIVED in CA lmao, his car is registered in Maine so CA PD can’t do anything about it unless he’s revving the piss out of it obnoxiously
dog rides with mom in the front seat, while the kid is burried almost in stuff in the backseat in the smallest and least safe car of the family. way to clarify your priorities....

I have an FL5 and I am so glad that I have left it mostly stock. I fitted a rear sway bar and that is about it. It is a great car bone stock.
Hey bud, been watching your vlogs since past two weeks. Good to get to understand your lifestyle, much love to the family from India.
Sorry for your lost Cameron grandparents are the best ..One of my dreams car too fl5 type R.. one day welcome back to California bro..
Dude, sorry for your loss. And definitely get the fl5. I switched and its amazing
Your interactions with Vivian are hilarious 🤣🤣
"Laugh it up Fuzzball" 💀
I was about to say that! 😆
The great conversations we have with our wives haha great video man

I think she also said “Laugh it up, fuzzball.” What a couple of nerds. Love them.

🙏 4 u and family on the loss of your grandmom
Elly is a trooper! All that weight from the moving stuff is for sure killing that MPG
Hi Cameron I follow you from italy, you are a wonderful family. i wish you and your family all the best.
It’s time to get the fl5. Just the entire car chassis and interior and exterior is next level. It’s very refined and good
its made in japan, next level quality
Well at least your daughter looked like she was having a better day since you didn't mention any illness or tantrums. The cat so it seemed kept her calm and entertained.
Sorry for your loss. 😢 Also... have you looked at the integra type S for more of a comfortable daily?
Throw the stock exhaust on and keep the downpipe. I have the TSP downpipe on my ITS and stock exhaust. Sounds great imo. Comfort mode is quiet in the cabin.
Always been a fan of doing just a downpipe with stock exhaust. Gives it some character but isn’t overly aggressive. Our kids tend to like it more too for a daily driver.
By the time you get the new one, there will be something else that you will want at that point. That's the vicious cycle of it lol
I would put back the stock exhaust for a long trip. I swap mine out , for road trips .
FL5 for sure! Can’t wait for some canyon run when you’re back in Cali
Yea the drone on the 10th gen is kind of harsh. The main problem is the cabin noise. I have louder cars but the Honda can give you a headache.
new type R looks sooo much better...
Go get that FL5! Seems like it’ll be a better choice with the adaptive dampers and driver settings.
As a Houstonian, Dallas is technically less safe but yeah both cities are both crazy either way 😂
Get the fl5 soon if you want one because it looks like there won’t be a 2026 model. Love mine
If you ever get FL5 definitely try to keep it stock as I would say it’s pretty well set up car from factory.
I have the TSP high flow catted DP on my DE5, makes the best power and no stink, no watery eyes. Also is the only DP that doesn’t throw a CEL.

Cali group drive vids again coming soon?
Maybe
It's crazy snowing in MinneSNOWta
Me i prefer the fk8 would miss it if sold but if your looking for a dd fl5 would be better option, just my opinion
Check the M&M FL5 🔥🔥🔥
My condolences
anyone know if he still has the MAperformaxe exhaust and down pipe on? Thing sounds nice from the inside
What city are you moving to? I’m in San Diego and have a few Acuras.
You should have hosted a car meet at every state man.
They would never make it to Cali if they did that☠️ do you know how long car meets go for?
Sell the mods and FK8 get a FL5 asap before they kill it off. When they get killed off for EV I assume they'll go way up in value. Maybe outta price range if wait too long and used not new
the awe sounds the best with a down pipe
I live in Los Angeles what part of California you moving to
Nice video
5:21 I think you just drive to slow lmao , 80 is the new 60 bubba !
My 11th gen sport touring has had zero problems with wireless car play after 25,000 miles! Knock on wood!
Should of pull the fk8 with the highlander
its unknown if there will be a 2026 FL5 model as of yet. It has been mostly confirmed the next Type R model will be EV
Keep the Fk8 and and get the fl5:D
You can make it to the funeral in Dallas park your cars there an take a flight to where they are at

You should buy a truck. Cars are kind of losing their luster. I got rid of the fl5 and bought a Chevy Silverado 4x4.
Lol sounds boring, how is that at all fun to drive. I get having a truck and a fun car but selling your fun car FOR a truck?
@Tanner_Teves my fl5 was my daily driver and couldn't keep both. I'm from Missouri and we get a lot of snow and I just felt bad for the car.
@@rickeybradley2635 Well see that’s totally valid, but not at all the situation Cam is in lmao.
The weight you have in your car messes with mileage
As a dad now myself I’d half look at an integra type s , not much content being made on those
I’ll find one to test out
sell the fk8. youll get a pretty penny from carmax. get an FL5 💯
He needs like a integra type S. Better dadmobile
@@upperleftnorthwest4278damn, thats a good one too. didnt even think of that
Neither, his FK8 just needs maintenance.
Nah he needs to keep the FK8
I sold my fk8 for a fl5. Kinda miss the fk8 not gonna lie.
😮
well now we know your daughter is gonna be just like you she likes loud noise lol
Sell the 10th gen, fix what ever the fk8 needs if anything. And get the FL5
No car lasts forever. I always tell myself imma sell the vette for something else. One day it will happen.
Aftermarket exhaust are just unnecessary. The noise is obnoxious and no one that has to live around you likes it
don’t get a fl5 they are hideous fk8 is definitely the best looking civic
i live in mississsippi
Are you guys Married?
😢😢poor 10th gen
trade vivians car for an FL5

Ehehehhee
