  • There is an issue with Windows where it tries to use the wrong driver for the Lego Mindstorms NXT while updating firmware. It will cause the unit to tick every second or so and the screen will be blank. This video shows you how to make sure you are using the correct driver to update the firmware.
    You can find the latest version of the Lego NXT software and firmware at the link below.

    No Chance. Win 10 didn't detect the device. I can hear this tick tick tick. But if I plug in die USB Cable (used diffrent) - nothing happen.

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  Год назад

      You could try another USB cable or another USB port. I'm sure there are other things that can cause the clicking brick syndrome as mentioned in the first part of the video. This was the method I used to fix several of them

    I saved 3 NXT man. 1 billion
    thanks here from Brazil RS. I learn robotics wit nxt / Ev3 lego this year. what is the cause of the problem?

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  2 года назад +1

      Awesome! Glad to help. It's a driver issue. When the Firmware is updated it changes to a different mode requiring a different driver. It's in this mode when it is ticking. Windows can load the wrong driver thinking it is something else which stops the software from seeing the NXT. Manually changing the driver to the correct one fixes the issue and allows the firmware to be properly loaded.

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks

      It's very common for the screens to fail and if the volume is turned down there is no indication it is turned on. I have a really old video about how you can mirror the screen on a PC through USB. If it is completely dead I haven't had any success fixing them but also haven't really tried. They are pretty cheap on Bricklink to just buy another
