The consistency and morbidity in the writing of this show is phenomenal. Todd is the scariest and most psychopathic character in the whole BB universe because of his uniquely nonchalant approach to murder. Gilligan absolutely nailed his flashback scenes in El Camino.

My personal favorite detail: Throughout the Show, Jesse always sits on the Passenger Seat to symbolize that he is constantly being manipulated and not in full control of his Life, but here he‘s locked in the Trunk, implying that in this Situation he is completely powerless to do anything about his Life anymore. Until the end of Felina, where he finally sits in the Drivers Seat
If you read this comment closely, you can notice that this is a reference to the fact that people look too much into things (still a neat interpretation tho lol)

His Bike gets stolen early on, his Car is confiscated by the Police after the Tuco Shootout, by the end of S5 he has to Carpool with Saul for gods sake. Also the Movie about him is called El Camino, referring to both the Car (which literally has a symbolic role throughout the movie seeing as he only drives it himself in the first few minutes) and Jesse himself like COME ON you can‘t tell me there‘s nothing to this (Also its not even my Theory I‘m just expanding on it)
I keep rewatching this scene. Despite the unsettling context, it's such a vibe. The great song, Todd's chill demeanor, the beautiful desert landscape; it's all so comfy.
He's just professional at his job, unfortunately his job is killing people and committing crimes nonstop. But in all seriousness, he's a great character, easy to hate and it was very satisfying to see him getting killed by Jesse. Even more after this movie.
My own head cannon is he just spent a lot of Walt’s money partying and let himself go enjoying the good life. Then decided to lose that weight by the time Walt came back to impress Lydia.

Compared to the more bloodthirsty characters like Tuco, Fring, or Holly, you can tell Vince wanted to finally introduce a genuinely good guy in the form of Todd. At this point in the story, though, Jesse can’t process Todd’s kindness, which is the tragedy of the character. Really moving story.

It’s so weird to see the place i grew up at be used in this. I feel so vindicated though about some of the shoots in this scene. As an aspiring film maker I knew my home would be beautiful on the big screen and it made me feel good. Lol The trucker passing Todd gave me anxiety cause I know that’s a no pass lane and no one from the other lane would see that truck coming in that very moment cause they’re on a small rise of the hill, so no one would see it coming.

It’s so weird to see the place i grew up at be used in this. I feel so vindicated though about some of the shoots in this scene. As an aspiring film maker I knew my home would be beautiful on the big screen and it made me feel good. Lol The trucker passing Todd gave me anxiety cause I know that’s a no pass lane and no one from the other lane would see that truck coming in that very moment cause they’re on a small rise of the hill, so no one would see it coming.
