I've lived in Guadalajara for 14 months now... for the same reason. the beach is way too hot 8 months out of the year for me. although now GDL is feeling too hot for me also and I am considering moving San Cristobal!
It was helpful, thank you! We like artsy. But is one of the other colonias you mentioned more urban? Anything more citylike? This reminded me of parts of CDMX. In CDMX we like Condesa which is very street lined, nice homes, artsy, cultural, lots of restaurants. Maybe this is the best comparison. Thanks for the video. Look forward to the other two. Where do hipsters hang out? Surely they have an area? And the techies? Thanks Blake...
You'll find hipsters in Americana and perhaps to a lesser extent in Chapalita or Providencia but maybe others have opinions on that too. It depends what you mean by urban. Americana is closest to the center of GLD so in some respects it's more urban than the other two, though there are more high rise condos and big malls close to Providencia
@@colibritravel5994 I know I always go back to CDMX for examples, but that's the best way for me to describe. The Juarez neighborhood has become a hipster and techy neighborhood where you'll find many companies setting up shop for their start-ups and sending employees from the US to this area. It creates a vibe that I like, brings in new business and a more international experience. But I guess CDMX is more international. The thing is Guadalajara has set itself up as the hub for tech companies from the US and has even created a Visa to bypass all other visa options for residency for those that work in this industry. @@colibritravel5994 Yeah, I'm coming down to GDL at some point. I'll probably do a year or so in Vegas so hence my mention of weed. I know MX has to do something soon and am curious.
@@exotic_andy4353 It was so much nicer back then, there seems to be a lot of traffic nowadays! I know it sounds cliché but Guadalajara in the '70s was the perfect city.
I enjoyed your videos and I hope you visit the other communities. My husband and I are thinking of moving to Guadalajara. Is the weather in Guadalajara hot like Merida? How is the bug situation? What are the best communities to live in for expats? Are you able to compare the cost of living from Merida to Guadalajara? Merida is another place we are considering but I keep hearing it’s too hot. ❤️
thanks! I haven't been to Merida yet, I'll be there in January though and hear the same, that it is very hot and humid. If you'd like to make a donation via patreon I'll be happy to chat about Mexico and moving here
Mérida is one of the cleanest and safest cities in Mexico, although the weather all year round is usually very hot and humid, unlike Guadalajara, which has an almost perfect climate all year round, the temperature typically varies from 41°F to 89°F, It is also considered one of the most beautiful cities in México, with its wide, heavily wooded boulevards.
no, GDL is at 5000 feet of elevation. the higher you go the cooler it is but more importantly the less humid it is. April, May and June are the hottest months here. this year the rainy season started late so it was mid 30's C for the entire month of June. winter months are really the ones that are that perfect weather where its mid 20's C and extremely low humidity. the rainy season here is June - October, so you have 4-5 months with rain and then the rest of the year is dry.
oh ffs. its so frustrating people asking about Mexico being safe. it is much safer than the US. there is almost no random crime here. the majority of crime is cartels and drug dealers killing each other.
Well, it's Portland. I have to say the forward facing quick walk is unsatisfying to the possible tenant of the neighborhood. And where was the weed in the market video?
I don't know if you're considering moving to Colonia Americana but I'm sorry you found it unsatisfying. I showed weed paraphernalia and clothing with weed leafs etc in the video. Anything more than that I thought it was best to leave out for privacy reasons. You're correct, it is Portland
I don't actually like Guadalajara to live I found it very dirty and polluded.I would recommend to live in aguascalientes one of the cleanest cities in Latinoamérica.
I love Guadalajara... and it depends which neighbourhood you are in as far as the level of cleanliness. avoid the centro and anything east of Calz Independencia. the further west you go the nicer the city is.
I thoroughly enjoyed this walk through Colonia Americana. Great video with great pick for soundtrack.

As of today, this is the best neighborhood in the world 🌎 👀
it was voted on. its an opinion so it depends who is being asked. I personally love it but to say best neighbourhood in the world, probably not.
6:06 In the early 70s I lived on Mexicaltzingo #1964 ! thanks for bringing back memories...a lot has changed I see
Did it look better today? Or was it nicer back then?

Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses and the home of the Rose Parade. I grew up out in the desert SE of there about 120 miles.
cool, I lived in Portland for a couple years before coming to Guadalajara
Portland Oregon - city of Antifa and BLM thugs.
Pasadena Ca. the city of roses ,
Is that safe? No cartels and thief’s? Because someone recommended me to buy a house in colonia americana

Some advice - your audio levels from you talking to music is like 10 times louder. I had to get my remote every time you went from talking to music.
Pasadena?
Lol when you were tlaking about your $500 camera and that guy behind you looking suss
who is going to steal a camera these days when everyone just uses their phone for photos and videos?
Sorry men, antes de colonia americana,,,,,, ara colonia Francesa..... je je je je jejeje. no se por que3 la llamaròn americana
Move to Mumbai india 🇮🇳 it's great!👍
