My mate Derek says you can save some cash by making your own torque wrench - he cut a bit of scaffold bar off and extended his halfords socket set bar - best thing is he wrapped it with red electrical tape so that he can use it on live stuff aswell - you chaps don't even have to thank me
🤡
@@johnjordan6736 Look upwards.. 👀
Shear and back half a turn??
Always good to see safe isolation cheks!
Gonna be that guy though in the comments who everyone loves to see….but aren’t you supposed to start with the least likely conductors to be live?
So E-N
E-phases
N-phases
Between phases
@@systemaliveI hear this a lot, doesn’t state anywhere its a requirement and also makes no sense.
What difference does it make you could have a fault and the N is live.. and if anything wouldn’t you want to know it’s still live immediately instead of waving your probes around a live apparatus testing the normally dead stuff first 🤷🏼♂️

Great video, keep up the great work ❤
Nice one Jake 🤝🏼
Marvelous!!! Keep the good job.
Thanks!
Love the vids mate, keep'em coming
Will do bro 🫡
Great video again Mike
Hi,mate watching u live from Ghana
Big love to Ghana ❤
I prefer cutting the insulation before it goes into the panel and just taping the end up and then easily remove it once in the panel
Same. A rolled up piece of cardboard in the panel hole stops the cable getting snagged and damaged
I used too, damaged way to many cables that way and now do it this way, enclosures like this don’t matter but the small ones it makes all the difference, different strokes for different folks thou 👍🏼
What compression tool are tou guys using on the ends of the lugs, and which one is the torquewrench? Been looking into a set of tools but the ones i found from klauke are almost 4k
All Milwaukee kit mate 👍🏼
@@residualelectrical any chance you got the model number for the torque wrench and the hydraulic crimper?
Sure 🤝🏼
Torque wrench - uk.milwaukeetool.eu/en-gb/m12-fuel-one-key-3-8-digital-torque-wrench/m12-oneftr38/
Crimper - uk.milwaukeetool.eu/en-gb/m18-force-logic-hydraulic-53-kn-cable-crimper/m18-hcct/
why are the neutral cables sleeve as CPC?
In this project, the load did not require a neutral point, but the cable did contain blue. So workers worked with blue as ground. This is cheaper and more convenient.
@@pozinglikebigemosoundcloud4767really intersting that they are allpwed to do that there. In the netherlands in a multicore cable the earth has to be yellowgreen the entire way
@@bashaaksema94 It does in UK for flexibles generally
@@colinpenfold2971 ah nice makes it easier i immagine
@ ahh i see, interesting. thanks
nice work
Where did you get the torque settings from?
From the switch specifications 👍🏼
We don’t put crimp sleeves on lugs. With al sleeve a visual inspection of the crimping is not possible. Inspection is required for insurance certificate.
What’s the name of that chain tool you used 14:38
Just an exhaust cutter
👌
This is some impressive work, do you take on any Apprentices?
Thanks, got a lad with me, currently not taking anyone else on 👍🏼
Don't twist the conductors before inserting them into the crimp lug. When done, it can't form an gas/oxygen tight sealing!
What torque wrench is this mate? 1/2 or 3/8?
It’s this one mate 👍🏼 uk.milwaukeetool.eu/en-gb/m12-fuel-one-key-3-8-digital-torque-wrench/m12-oneftr38/
your mate looks like matt does fitness
I’ll pass it on 😂
😍😍
Assume is to make an ass of u and me as a previous boss told me. Although taking 400ish volts through the heart because you didn't follow safe isolation and assumed it was dead is a little more than making an ass of everyone IMO.
You young one's don't relise that we did all that with out your tools and no RUclips 😅 just did it as it's just a job! Your not a hero fella!!!
Boomer alert
Notis
Holy milking a simple project.
Thanks for watching mate
