“Burning down one side” “In the mood” “Ship of fools” “Heaven Knows” are all great Plant songs
Ship of fools is so amazing! 29 palms and calling to you as well.
Also - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Sea of Love
‘Song to the siren’ is a great cover too.
Sixes and Sevens
what he said
Phil Collins, a good friend of Plant, talked him out of retiring. Told him he'd play drums on his first solo effort and tour with him. That's Phil Collins
And other albums as well. Close mates.
I was blessed to see Robert with Phil! It was EPIC!
My favorite Robert Plant song, transports you to another place.
For me, that song is Kashmir.
And time...
my favorite song of all time made a playlist of all the Big Log's live versions available on RUclips.

🎼There’s nobody can sing bluesy blues like Robert Plant. He’s been singing with Allison Krauss lately and you talk about some good listening. But after all, Robert Plant is the King of Goosebumps. Been listening to him many years since Led Zepplin. After all we are in our 70’s and have been appreciating Robert Plant all these years.🎼💟☮️
Allison Krauss has the voice of an angel and is a badass violin virtuoso
@@maryklever1633
🎼Yes she is a bad-assed violin virtuoso and her voice fits into Plants just like a glove. I really love listening to them.🎼☮️
Going to see them in June with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan
I’m seeing him and Alison again for the 3rd time this August in Washington State!
@@EastCoastGal66
August in Washington State? OMG! Both of my daughters live in Spokane! Where is/are the concert(s) going to be?
He's had a 43 year solo carrer I've seen him 27 times on his solo carrer concerts. He's my favorite artist.
Right on. 👈
Genius!
Envy oooozes from my pores....
I saw him once in Oklahoma. I had balcony seats on the rail. When a song finished I said “ I love you Robert!” He looked at me like “ Really?” 😂 His voice is still amazing.
Robert is the GOAT for rock n roll singers!!
Robert has some good solo stuff.
Im In The Mood should be on your list.
His work with Allison Krause is great. Their song GONE GONE GONE is a good one.
I love their High and Lonesome ❤ they were fabulous on Crossroads
I'll be seeing them in June. Really looking forward to it!
Robert Plant - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Heaven Knows - Ship of Fools - Sea of Love
Robert Plant - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Heaven Knows - Ship of Fools - Sea of Love
That entire “Raising Sand” record is incredible. “Please Read The Letter” is stunning.
Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 after John Bonham died. This was recorded in 1983, when all remaining members were free to do solo projects.
Robert Plant has an entire Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame level career in addition to Led Zeppelin. Dude is one of the all time greats.
It’s a crime that he’s not been inducted as a solo artist. Hell, even PHIL COLLINS hasn’t. That’s just a travesty. Maybe after they both pass on… ☹️
Plants one of my favorites i like his dolo music better than his zeppelen stuff
My favorite part of this song BIG LOG is the guitar,.. that touches my heart❤ every time that I hear it. I can listen to it over and over just to hear the guitar.🎉
Robbie Blunt is the guitarist, I think. Something Blunt. He has such great phrasing. Rob's solo work is a whole other rabbit hole. Worth the time. He employs amazing musicians.
Open road, approaching evening, train in the rear veiw mirror coming up on my right and overtaking our ride as this song played on the stereo. One of those moments in life marked by a song.
Walking into the cafeteria at school. We had an old juke box in the corner. This came on, and the room went silent. I just stood still in the doorway listening. Sun shining in the windows with a big blue sky.
@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer _You've got a lot of soul!_
This whole song has the capacity to transport you to another world. The guitar is beautiful and the vocals are haunting.
Love Big Log! Ship Of Fools and I'm In The Mood are two others worth checking out.
This song is so damn smooth
Phil Collins plays drums on this track!
Also Phil Collins plays on the track: In The Mood.
The drumming on this song is electronically programmed, so it's definitely not Phil Collins. This is from his second solo album (The Principle Of Moments), and IIRC Phil Collins only played on the first one (Pictures At Eleven). Robbie Blunt's guitar is the MVP here for sure, and Paul Martinez is on point with the bass. That chord change before he sings "leading me on" is absolutely *gorgeous* isn't it?
My favorite solo Plant tune
Me too

This is perfect to play on a cool summer night, riding with the windows down … so late that no one else is on the road. It’s soul stirring. And your reaction is how I feel every time I listen to it. I feel like a teenager swept up by what the future could hold.
Well said! I can totally relate to your remarks!
Try his I’m in the mood next…
👍Yes! 👍
Great track.
I was gonna say the same
I’d recommend 29Palms, In the Mood, Ship of Fools, Calling to You, and Greatest Gift
Yes to all of these!
"Like I've Never Been Gone" and "Sea Of Love" as well.
Still a solo artist lol Robert has no quit in him Another hypnotic solo Ship of Fools
Just saw him live here in a piazza in Italy in November. He is STILL amazing.
Wow ! That's fantastic. ✌🏻 what talent
@@valoriel4464 I have videos on my channel if you're into it.
I love this song! Robert Plant is so phenomenally gifted! I love his solo work and he's still at it!!! Thank you Polo!
Love this song...! Logging on the miles... "There's no turning back on the run"
A great long haul song!
Robert is the consummate artist, always evolving and changing. He is a hero and gift to us.
First Robert plant song I heard when he quit playing with led Zeppelin such a timeless classic
Robert Plant - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Heaven Knows - Ship of Fools - Sea of Love
"Like I've Never Been gone" and "Heaven Knows" as well.
I know it's early but, you're gonna love this song
All of Robert’s solo career consists of beautiful and interesting music of different genres. Try it you’ll ❤️ He’s 74 and still doing it ❤
It’s so cool watching someone hear this song for the first time!
Exactly!! Where were you the first time you heard this?
I can remember the color of the sheets😊
I was 18 years old, though I remember the tune from my childhood, maybe from Radio or something :') this song is like a deja-vu to me.
Robert Plant is just straight up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You broke this reaction down beautifully. I remember first hearing this song when i was 6 years old and stopped me dead in my tracks. I've loved this song all my life. Every time I've heard it, I get teleported somewhere. Everything else disappears. Your interpretation is exactly 100% Spot On. I wished you'd consider doing a video on "29 Palms". That was another beautiful solo hit from him he put out in 93. Thanks for a beautiful trip down memory lane.
How BEAUTIFUL!!!
This song has always made me tear up in just it's absolute sheer beauty

That was the fantastic Robbie Blunt on guitar who had the impossible task of following up Page as Plant's guitar muse. When I saw this tour Phil Collins was drumming but on this song he played xylophone. "Tie Dye On The Highway" is a fave by Plant. Pure banger.
It's so beautiful ❤️
This is my ringtone! I'm a diehard Zeppelin and Robert Plant fan. I love your reactions to them.

Love this and also “29 Palms”!
80s plant is one my favorite plants of all❤!
As everyone has mentioned, In the Mood, Ship of Fools, Heaven Knows. Also I like Tall Cool One. His later and current work with Alison Krauss. Its a deep well. 😊😊
Of course Zep gets all the love, but his solo stuff was quite prolific and interesting.
Such a great song... you can feel the emotion in the music.
One of Robert's best creations... a definite top choice in my playlists.
Enjoyed your reaction...
I had a STRONG FEELING that you were gonna LIKE THIS ONE!!! :) SUCH A GREAT, SLOW GROOVE!!! LOVE IT! :) Thanks, Polo!!
I agree, this is a timeless song. Robert Plant is the best rock vocalist of his time 12:12 and goes from rich, raunchy, sultry, to soft and smooth. Every time I hear this song I melt. The melody is superb. Love your channel. It's awesome to see you freaking out over songs I've known for decades. Great music never goes out of style.
But listen to Pearl Jam or Soundgarden and hear amazing vocals. Maybe you already have...
One of the greatest tunes to listen to while alone in the dark on the open road.
I’ve Loved this one & in the mood forever!
Yes great solo artist !
This song always reminds me of driving to Laredo, TX with my Mom's family and going into Nueva Laredo, Mexico. They played this song in Mexico on repeat. That was about 1983 when this song first came out. Still to this day I think of the heat and those sunsets. 🌇
One of my favourite tracks EVER.

He's song Tall Cool One is a banger from his solo career.
Ooohhhh Robert❤❤❤❤
A bit old for me. When he was younger, hubba hubba, he was gorgeous!! But I was too, young to appreciate him 😅
Robby Blunt on guitar 🎸. This entire first solo album (Pictures At Eleven), is a masterpiece. I feel as though it’s Robert’s finest solo effort. Next………
“Like I’ve Never Been Gone”.
✌🏼😎🇺🇸
This is from the second album! My favourites from the first are Burning Down One Side and Fat Lip.
@@TheoZoffrok my favorite would have to be “Like I’ve Never Been Gone”.
The guitar and his voice join as one its such a pure song wonderful
Led Zepp 4 EVER! Robert still incorporates Led Zepp songs into his repertoire in his concerts. It’s quite Amazing to hear it all again and he twists the songs exquisitely! ❤
This is the song that brought me and my son to South Carolina. Game changer and favorite song.
Sensational Space Shifters!! Band of JOY!!
It's funny to me that a solo career Robert Plant song has such magical guitar work in it. This is exemplary. For me, this is the best solo Plant song.
Notable solo Plant songs: "Heaven Knows," "Sea of Love" (Honeydrippers), "In the Mood," "Ship of Fools."
Yes! And also "29 Palms". That's a good one, too!
This was guitarist Robby Blunt. I believe he stayed with Plant until around 1988. He always matched up with outstanding musicians. After Zeppelin, his standards were high, to say the least.
He did have the habit of firing his bands every few years….at least until the 90’s when he reunited with Page. Always searching for new sounds and ideas. After 2000, not so much. He found his place and had stopped trying to catch the “golden ring”……again
Another beauty from solo Plant is Ship of Fools. Btw….the official video of Big Log is wonderful.
Robby Blunt on guitar. Wonderful
player
@@helenespaulding7562 I didn't mean to indicate that Plant would find bad band mates. It's just ironic, a bit, that AFTER Zeppelin he's got such great guitar work from Blunt. This particular song is outstanding for its guitar, IMO.
Robert Plant messed around and made a timeless classic.
A sexy song…it’s like floating down a lazy river.
Easily my favourite Robert Plant song. I was obsessed with it when it came out. Such a beautiful guitar intro and the vocal are just so…..Robert Plant!
It's been a few years since I last heard this, I wore out the cassette back in the day! I saw Plant in Calgary in '05, it was the 1st conceet I took my son to, ❤❤❤ him. Just found your channel, liking your vibe!
i LOVE how the song is almost 3 minutes in and you're already blown away, and Robert hasn't even sung a note yet.
41 years since its release and Big Log remains a beautiful, captivating, emotional piece of music. It's absolutely timeless✨

Sea of Love with the Honey Drippers
Extremely well produced song. Great engineer. Guitar masterpiece 👌
You’ve got to check out Robert Plant and Jimmy Page Most High too. The Zeppelin well is deep!
One of my favorite songs ever!
This is one of my favorite songs ever.
Robbie Blunt is the guitarists. You know how people will say: so and so is the most underrated guitarists of all time and you think well everyone knows who that is so how is that underrated?
Robbie Blunt truly is the most underrated great guitarist
Not one human outside of opera comes close to the notes and keys and the greatness of his voice
I saw this live on his Principle of Moments Tour 1983 here in Vancouver. Robbie Blunt on guitar, Phil Collins on drums. It was the last show on the tour. The encore was a jam similar to the psychedelic portion of Whole Lotta Love, with Plant shouting "Push it! Push it! Push it!", and Phil Collins wearing a wig. 😋 I saw him 2 more times... Shaken N' Stirred, 1985, and Manic Nirvana, 1990. Absolutely magical.
Fantastic, I feel like I'm in Spain!
I jammed to this song several times a day during my decade-long, long-haul truck driving job from 90 to 00. Made the endless miles out west pass in the blink of an eye.
This song came out when I was about 12 and just getting really into music. Blew me away and is forever ingrained in my mind. Love it just as much to this day.
41 years later, still sounds amazingly fresh.
You really should check out Robert Plant in the Concert in the Desert.
There's stuff out of West Africa, and the Sahara that would totally blow your mind!
A remarkably excellent song by Robert Plant…I can listen to this song anytime of day or night and is always easy on the ears…great reaction video!
My favorite Robert Plant track. It's so dreamy. ❤
Rockin’ at midnight. The whole album is great.
I love these music reaction channels its brings you back to songs you haven't heard for probably 30 years or more and watch someone else enjoy it
Good choice, can't go wrong
Magnificent! Peace
Robbie Blunt on guitar
This album was playing during all our high school parking sessions ❤🎉
This song feels like a road trip song.love it and it also feels very nostalgic
about friggin time this cut shows up! anywhere...good on you!
I haven't heard this song in years, it's still so good.
"Ship of Fools" and "In the Mood" are mandatory Plant reactions.
My first time listening to it as well! I can truly dig it!❤️😎👌
Yes indeed my friend his solo career began in 1983. I haven’t listened to this song in years, thanks for the reaction. My personal favorite LP of his is Manic Nirvana. U can’t go wrong diving into the Plant rabbit hole. Looking forward to more.
yep, it's a very haunting melody, amazing song
This is one of my favorite songs. Loved your reaction.
Really good music takes you to another place, time, memory. It has a dream like quality or rips at your soul with its honesty. Vicki
This is a song I usually listen to over and over and over… it’s so rich ❤
SHIP OF FOOLS!!! Love the engineering on these tracks! Every instruments is so clear and vibrant! Not muddy at all. I think Ship of fools is a masterpiece in engineering.
Thanks Polo. I kinda forgot about Robert’s solo songs. Still love it all these years later 🔥
One of my favorite songs of all time.
My mom used to play this song to make me go to sleep. 40 years later, it still hits. “In the Mood” is fun, too!
Great song I remember was number 1 for ages in my country. Beautiful distinctive guitar by Robbie Blunt who was in Plant solo band for awhile. Great solo career still always diverse and still going.
Thanks for taking me on that journey. This track was new for me as well, and I will definitely be adding this to the play list. I love the spanish guitar sound...
Nothing else in the world like the titans of the 60s and 70s trying to find the their way through the 80s
Heaven Knows, Ship of Fools, and sooo many more for you to unpack.
Robert Plant has been singing as a solo artist since Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 and has released very good albums. He didn't want to just be the former singer of Led Zeppelin forever but wanted to live out his own creativity. On his first album there is a song that is still in the Led Zeppelin style "Slow Dancer". A great piece of music.
This has been my fav since 89. Glad you reviewed!
This song always takes me back to when I was living in Massachusetts with my eldest sister. I was having a really difficult time living at home and had to decide whether to stay up there or go back to Florida. I stayed for awhile and have some really fond memories of that point in time.
