Beer bottles are a bit too thin, and that causes fractures, but I have done wine bottles before, and I got a bit of a crooked edge, but you could always sand it. I have no idea why yours did not cut apart, but it may have just been too thick like you suggested. And if you really want to use beer, I might try spinning it for less time to account for the different thickness. (Also you can get an electric sander too)

Corinne - Goo Gone works great for removing labels. I worked janitorial for brand new model houses (meaning there was clean up after interior designers). Spray it on, wait a few mins, and wash it off. Voila!

When cutting wax dip your knife in hot water. ( it helps a lot actually )
or you just use pressure instead of a point. you don't want water in your wax...

Corinne! I have no tips on how to break the bottle but I do I have a failproof recipe to get the labels off: Soak them in a sink of the hottest tap water, some dishsoap and BAKING SODA! Leave for 30-60 minutes. They slip right off, and just need the smallest scrub to get the rest of the glue off.

The internet never lies! I made a couple of candle holders with wine bottles for my wedding. Took some thickish string wrapped it around the bottle then using a syringe poured the acetone over and lit it. Turned it when the flames went out I dunked it into freezing water and it was cleanly broken off. Using water and sandpaper I sanded the edges. It was very easy. I only wanted the bottoms off so the whole bottle went over the candle for wind protection.

I tried this project a while ago and using corona bottles worked really well for me, they're thinner than normal bottles (which means they break easier and don't crack down the sides) and the design looks really cool. :)

Acetone evaporates very quickly that is the tension that it didn't work and the yarn is a bigger fiber that is why it light and not the first string

Essential oils are usually better for soaps than candles. Fragrance oils are frequently the way to go and they make a wide variety that is great for soy or beeswax candles.
