- I managed to get my hands on some Cosclay! Which was pretty difficult because I am in the UK and there is only one stockist, I had to wait 6 weeks for delivery but I finally got a chance to test it today..
I got mine here: www.mouldlife....
I did some testing with cosclay and some paint, Found that FX flexible acrylic paint made by Plaid seems to have a higher durability with the bendy clay then standard acrylic.
You need to mix the paint with a flexible material, such as liquid latex. Then it won't crack when bending.
Fabric acrylic paint will probably solve the problem with the cracks
Just interesting, why don't you use thinner wire?
I saw the paint cracking coming. It'd probably be worthwhile to explore mixing Cosclays that are a pretty close match the flesh tone you're going for. I do a semi-paper mache technique of medical paper tape over armature wire and if you add pigment to your glue or Mod Podge, you get less cracking. Though it's def a time-consuming process!
Do people not realize they can make custom hands for their dolls and make them posable?
IKR!! Even the basic joints.
I love the commentary haha
What paint do you use please? 😊
i use kintsuglue for my stopmotion hands but im going to get some cosclay bc kintsuglue starts cracking after a while
Ok. Now that time gas passed, how is it holding up? What is the best clay that stays flexible? I use Bondo which is polymer. Any suggestions?
Great video!
