Many times have heard artists saying “ you live character’s live when performing “ and never heard “ you share with audience character’s emotions to take with them “. Brilliant said. Seemingly the same thing but it’s not. You don’t just tell the story, you make audience cry with you or be happy for you. Wish Xander all the best in his career. And a little jealous of Russia having him. We here in London need him more :)

I've never previously heard the term "ballerino" used to refer to a top male dancer before. Traditionally, the top female & male dancers in a ballet company were referred to as the prima ballerina & premier danseur. Anyway, it looks like Xander Parish may not have had much of a ballet career, if he had chosen to remain in the UK at the Royal Ballet - as none of the staff at that company was able to see his potential, & his work ethic. So Russia's gain is the UK's loss, obviously - & congratulations to Yuri Fateev for being able to recognise Xander's potential & being willing to work with him to bring him up to speed in the Russian ballet style.

That small town Hull is known much better to the whole reading world than lots and lots of big cities - Robinson Crusoe set off to his many-decade journey from Hull.

As in other interviews I've seen of him, he comes across so well. Honesty, and a great deal of healthy self-awareness. The interviewer is a bit too forward - talking or interjecting too much. But this is good.

I love Xander Parish but he is a male dancer, not a ballerino!

I'm inclined to agree that, in English, it's a clumsy term. However, it is the male version of "ballerina", which comes from the Italian; and I think "ballerino" works fine in Italian. (Fluent Italian speakers may correct me.) I too admire Xander Parish very much, both as a dancer and a person.

Interesting that Chinese tv presenters or Chinese public Network chooses American English and not Brittish or neutral English that can be better understood by everyone
