Season's greetings, Allison. Thanks for your comment. Are you referring to the wax print fabric or the flannel? Doesn't matter I suppose. Pattern matching when the fabric is off-grain is tricky. The first issue is what are you sewing, and how the fabric being off grain is going to affect the drape of your project. I will suggest picking what part of your project you absolutely need to match up and let the rest of your layout fan out from there, but you can't match up everywhere since it is off-grain in the first place. Hopefully, your fabric is only slightly off-grain. Centre front and back are usually the areas I'd try to get to match up and not the side seams. I hope this helps. PS - Do not cut anything on the fold, or in two layers. Single layers only so that you can align everything exactly the way you need.
