    Did you guys know about the TJ Maxx and Marshalls thing? Where do I buy suitcases from now!? 😨

    • @axnyslie
      @axnyslie Год назад

      I was just at Sierra Trading Post which was right next to a Marshalls and they had lots of suitcases and backpacks very cheap. I am doing carry-on only when I depart in 2 weeks on a milti-city trip and was worried that I have gone 5kg over the limit for Thai Smiles who's taking me to Seoul next month. So I'll just do the online check-in and nonchalantly stroll my way on board 😉. Your videos have been very helpful! I got all the recommended apps downloaded ready to go and I'll be staying in Myeongdong for the convenient location.

    Hi Megan,should take all my skincare( liquid) in cabin luggage only?so all electronics and liquid in cabin?

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  2 года назад

      So, electronics are valuables and I usually try to keep valuables on me (in my carry-on luggage). They technically could break (because they throw the bags around) or be stolen (because it sadly does happen…)
      Liquids will need to be in small, travel-sized bottles (less than 3.4 ounces) AND in sealed, plastic baggies if you plan to take them in your carry-on luggage. If you plan to put them in your checked luggage, make sure you still put them in plastic bags in case they explode in transport.
      Either way, liquids and electronics will need to be placed on the conveyor belt in security if you keep them in your carry-on luggage ☺️
      I hope that helps!

    Great tips as usual! I know you've been to S Korea - how easy is it to buy things like hairspray there instead of having to pack it?

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  2 года назад +1

      South Korea has many things (basically everything) that you would want/need to buy! The only issue that might come up is if it’s not what you’re used to/not in the right size.
      For example:
      *Deodorant. You can buy it here - but it might not be as strong as the ones you’re used to or maybe the formula is completely different.
      *Clothes. People in South Korea are, on average, much smaller than Americans so I often struggle to find shoes and tights that fit me well.
      I’ve bought hairspray here, I just miss the formula and smell of the ones I usually use at home. I’ve bought tights here but they keep tearing because they’re a little small.
      On the flip side, I always buy my skin care here because it’s cheap and the quality is amazing!! Sooo long story short: Easy to buy stuff- it just might not always be equal to what you’re used to.
      I actually plan to make a video on this topic eventually so look out for that! Hope that helps a bit 💕

      Thanks for taking the time to write such a lengthy reply! I'm going to pack extra deodorant so I can fake that I smell as sweet as a Korean 😁 🌹

    Do you recommend visiting Seoul around the latter half of December? Is it too cold or bearable? thank you in advance

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  Год назад +1

      I guess it would depend on where you’re from! But it can get really cold… and cold hits different when you have to walk everywhere 🤣 (also, it’s annoying to take public transportation because it’s so hot inside of the subway so you’re freezing outside but sweating so much inside… hahaha 😅 just being honest!)

    What color is that and where can i find a suitcase that looks like that?

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  Год назад

      I always buy my suitcases from Marshall’s or Ross (Dress for Less)! That way I can do the smell test and make sure they don’t have a chemical smell inside 👍🏼✨

    I have had my carry on weighed by a very over zealous attendant. It was a nightmare. I had to check it. I had used the same bag, same weight dozens of times no issues. And I was only JUST over weight but shown no mercy lol

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  2 года назад

      WOW! Really!? I’ve never heard of that! Someone must have been having a bad day….. I’ve flown well over 50 times and I’ve never had anyone weigh mine…. But I guess, if for some reason they did weigh mine, they caught me 😅

    • @julia_newsome.t
      @julia_newsome.t 2 года назад

      @@MeganOsten I definitely was on the receiving end of someone’s bad day lol. I used to fly every weekend - my husband and I did long distance for 2 years before we got married - and only got caught once so not bad odds I guess 😅

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  2 года назад

      Hehehehe 😉 I’m surprised that’s even a question they could ask…. What did they say?? I’d like to weigh your carry on as well??

      Also! Good for your guys but WOW that’s a lot of flying!!!

    • @julia_newsome.t

      @@MeganOsten yes they had a cage kinda thing that your bag had to slot into to check it wasn’t oversized, mine fit in the cage which was all they were making everyone else do then an air hostess decided I had to have mine weighed as well and it was overweight, not by much like a kilo maybe but she still made me check it 🤷‍♀️ And yes we clocked up the frequent flier miles for sure, definitely a sign of commitment because I don’t love flying! It was a 90 minute flight each way 😬 Finally convinced him to move down here lol We still flew a lot even after we got married, about once every 2 months to take the kids to visit my in-laws, but they moved down here too eventually so now I only fly for holidays. And it was only ever that one time that I got busted with my overweight bag lol 😅
