Hello my friend you are very talented Michael I hope to be good as you tieing jigs. You are a very important part to the fishing world. Take care of yourself and keep the videos rolling in Michael
Wow this kills it for coho salmon! Tried the same style in different colors and patterns. This particular one is best in the muddy conditions. Sweet jig bro!
AWESOME! Saw several techniques that I have never seen before. Not sure if you sell these but they would be worth buying just to have one hanging on my work shop wall.
Hi Ken, Thanks a lot for the kind words. I have been a fly tier for 30 years, so I guess some of my jig tying techniques are lifted from streamer fly tying. Currently i don't sell jigs - just tie for my own fishing and for my RUclips tutorials. Tight lines, Michael :0)
awesome jig fly! i am hoing to build one but with less weight to make it slow sinking. What is the reel in the first shot of the video? looks like 4600 C3?
I love that jig Michael..I like how you cross wrapped that zonkers forward of itself but I am confused about your orange finish after your silicone strips... did you dub that onto your thread??? Do you think if I used a cross wrap zonkers in that finished collar I could achieve a similar finish??? I reckon our Aussie bass and cod would devour that jig thankyou for presenting it...regards Brian...
Thanks Brian. The orange rabbit hair for the front collar are cut from the skin and put into a dubbing loop. Basically I pull the tying tread away from the hook, around my finger, and back to the hook. Then i put a dubbing twister wheel at the end of the loop, insert the hair and spin the loop. Make a search for How to make a dubbing loop, and I'm sure you will find an instruction. Tight lines with those Aussie tackle busters. Cheers, Michael :0)
@@MichaelJensensAngling THANKYOU for your answer and advice...just for your knowledge I am going to enhance the whole jig as I have a custom made ball head with insert to fit a underspin blade...A size 0 gold Indiana blade will compliment that jig nicely... thanks for sharing it's design Michael... I use it for seatrout (sea run brown) in the salt here in Scandinavia. Think it will work for your speckled trout as well. Give it a try. Cheers, Michael:0)
The way u grabbed that rabbit fur a free handed it into the dubbing loop was impressive
Thanks buddy. Just been doing that move a lot i guess ;0) Cheers, Michael :0)

@@brianbochow You are welcome :0)
Has anyone tried this approach for speckled trout? I bet it would do well.

what is the 'spinning tool' called at the end?
Hi White Salmon. It's called a dubbing twister, and you can find it here: amzn.to/3Qp6VBA. Cheers, Michael :0)
Any fish you caught with that?
Sure. Perch, trout and lot's of pike. But it should work great for any predator. Tight lines, Michael :0)
