There are several reasons why you may need to change the calibration number in a transmitter. A couple that come immediately to mind are: 1. when you have a flow tube that needs to be switched at the measurement point. The new flow tube will have it's own calibration constant that must be placed in the transmitter; 2. If the flow tube is sent for liquid flow calibration at a lab like TECO's, and its calibration constant changes. When the meter is returned, the new calibration constant must be recorded in the transmitter.
