Hope NBA Live to pick up where left and push out new games. With one competitor, 2K will put more effort into the game, rather than just a roster update year after year.

EA Sports was arguably terrible still when they had competitors decades ago. EA is the one that started the trend of just buying out the licenses so they don't have to compete.
@@3mannhendrixx To be fair back in the day other football game developers had compelling products that made madden feel arcade. Even with the competition EA sports was lagging behind. But since they were mainstream they had the audience. And we know just because something is mainstream it doesn't necessarily mean that it is good. Doesn't matter the context.
Same here, hopefully they are taking there time to make a good game.. The last NBA Live game was actually pretty good, I preferred "The One" game mode over the My Career in 2K..
EA's game was trash, thats why y'all didn't buy it. They didn't care about competition, they just wanted to push online and Ultimate Team on yall so you could give up the money. People say these things as if we forgot how they gave the bare minimum even with multiple years to develop and multiple cancellations and delays.

I feel like if they didnt have the stiff after bucket or play reactions, it would go a long way. One of the worst parts is seeing the players all go into a weird stiff animation when the play is over. Having them always in their signature walking or movements all the time would look better
with all technology progress today, one would expect better than this...
They're clearly more focused on microtransactions and advertising than anything else, and that's just sad.

This isn't computer playing. It's clearly two guys on each team. The guy on the warriors pisses the hell out of me he has the splash brothers and decides to let wiggins or draymond shoot. Most nba 2k gameplay demos on youtube are absolute trash.

Is it me? but ive watched like 5-6 random videos of 2K23, and it doesn't play smooth enough, graphics wise, it looks stunning, but seeing players have a 2-3 millisecond hesitation when say, passing or dribbling is somewhat annoying considering this a AAA title game priced almost £100
Stick with ps4 pro. It’s better than ps5. Remember they made it fast and now they are going into detail with ps5 pro soon.

The animations in 2k14 were much smoother and more realistic compared to the current 2k. It's strange how the players in the current version seem to slide or float instead of running.
Can't believe the gameplay is still the same after 5 years I last played it.

I play nba 2k23 and I hate the shot meter and also anything but a green wouldn’t go in. Even if you shoot a three that is wide open and slightly early/late with Stephen curry, it cannot go in

Defense is unreal, is the same all years, if you pick the tricks is really easy and boring to play
Get your eyes checked, this is the same robotic unrealistic animations since 2k13.
2K just copy paste from 2k13 and upgrade the graphics and dumb people still buy it.

I was thinking the same thing. I just got it and I've already noticed a bunch of differences from last year, especially with the shot meter. And there's more options to make the game play the way you want it too..

I remember the huge jumps in graphics, like GTA 3 and even playing the first Madden on Xbox 360. Those days are gone bro, I was comparing graphics from gameplays of 2012 titles and they don't look that much different. Hopefully some technology advancements bring back the huge jumps, but 2032 may not look much different than now.

@@mtvslime9564 Either will be fine. I usually have both, I haven’t this gen though. I have the PS5, I’d recommend but the shitty thing is it can’t do 1440p. Should look better when they develop exclusively for new gen though.

@@Spybee007 it's because there isn't that much room for improvement anymore. These games are so hyper realistic that in order to double the "improvement", you would have to increase the computational power and storage size by 100x. It becomes exponentially harder to improve simulations like this the closer you get to perfection. We've reached the point of Diminishing Returns.

ngl NBA still looks trash compared to FIFA and madden in terms of movement. I dont think the devs are bad just to be clear. I just think basketball specifically is more tricky to perfect the movement.

They need to put real basketball game besides the screen and copy paste player movement to be much smoother. You can clearly see changes of animations. I hate they do sort of a gather move before passing and when catching it, especially on a fast break. And whats with the full baseball style passes. Just make it more life like. Perhaps introduce some sort of an AI that will "cover the gaps" between animations.

@@BetterLiving247 This has been an ongoing problem for years and years. It plagued EA, too. I don't know if it's a result of redrawing everything on the screen, or poor physics implementation. But they sure as hell haven't bothered watching actual basketball or comparing their game to the real life counterpart. They couldn't be doing these things.

To me this game is just not fun (like all 2K). Too many missed shoot, offensive foul, interceped pass... it's just so frustrating to play. It's a VIDEO GAME, i prefer fun and irealistic actions. I missed NBA street and NBA LIVE.

These stupid developers make it so hard to score for a beginner player that it ruins any "realness" or fun. I bought NBA 2K21, played it about one day, and after missing about 10 straight layups, took it back to GameStop. It's so idiotic...I hope they hemorrhage $$.
The majority of the community literally begged for harder shooting, and they got it. I hate the new shooting but I cant blame the devs for adding something requested by the community.

Same damn game with an updated roster for the last 15+ years. Love NBA 2K 10+ years ago, but I expect it to be better today. Graphics and the players’ movements looks awkward and unnatural as fook- this was acceptable 10+ years ago but not today IMO.

Anyone else think the gameplay framerates are atrocious? I'd say it's nowhere near 60fps, more like 40 at best. Not to mention the menu's and the auction house which has you reaching for a sick bucket after a few mins of searching and scrolling. It's the first game on PS5 i've had to ditch for poor framerates and timing.
Yeah definitely. I think the frame pacing is off and while graphically it looks great. The new animations have a slight delay before the Player does it.

@@blanka4545 sometimes at the end of a quarter, when the other team shoots a shot or I shoot a shot and it misses, the commentary gets overly excited and is like, ohh got it off in time but it didn’t go in!

The action is just so, how do I describe this, point A to point B to point C to point D? There is no fluidity, if you watch closely everytime you pass the ball, all action on the court stops until the player receives the ball and then it resumes. That's just dumb. I'm not sure the dev's actually play / test the game or even watch the game in general.
