    So awesome to see you back with Aurora! She has so much fun in this performance, which is actually kind of rare for a Vevo performance, which are usually very serious and strive for perfection. As good as this is, "A Soul with No King" from the same Vevo session is arguably even better. In fact, arguably one of her best live studio performances.

      Some might disagree. If you like pink, this performance is arguably better.

    I think Freddy has the best job. Traveling the world while playing with one of the finest souls and greatest artists alive.

    Thanks… great analysis and reaction! She recorded another song the same day at VEVO, ‘Soul with No King’. It is even more impressive. Also she collaborated with Jacob Collier on a mashup of ‘A Rock Somewhere X The Seed’, the two child prodigies become musical geniuses together floating in the Arctic for Greenpeace: another masterpiece!

    This is obviously a very stripped down version, I recommend that you listen to the album version or music video to hear the original song.
    At 7:26 in this video she is laughing at herself for forgetting to play the piano. She posted when this video went live: "I simply cannot decide if I want to play the piano or dance. I simply CANNOT."

      Haha that’s the consensus I am hearing from discourse online. I love that though, sometimes those human “whoops” moments make for the most expressive and endearing performances. ❤ I just thought she was being infectiously joyful as always coming into it with a blind reaction! Haha

    It's a common statement to say of of a singer that she/he uses her/his voice as an instrument. I think what makes Aurora so special is that she uses her voice as a whole orchestra.
    It's particularly obvious in songs like The Secret Garden or her own version of Into The Unknown.
    If you like Aurora's Voice, you should try Lorena Mckennit. The Mystic's Dream, live at the Alhambra, for example.

    • @musiccecilia7718
      @musiccecilia7718  2 месяца назад +1

      Love this idea of it being the whole orchestra. That’s so beautiful! I’m gonna check out that singer, been looking for more singers with a similar energy. Do you mind if I refer to the
      Orchestra comment in a future video? I just love that notion. Thank you. ❤

    • @kaddishcombattants
      @kaddishcombattants 2 месяца назад +1

      @musiccecilia7718 Of course, you can refer to my comment, with pleasure.
      I wouldn't say that Lorena Mckennit has the same Kind of energy as Aurora. Loreena's music is very different, more sophisticated, but their voice have similarities.

    If you haven't yet, i would suggest the song CURE FOR ME, by AURORA, its yet another different side of her, its poppy, techno sound , and also a good message.👍🍀

    Seen Aurora live a couple of times. Top notch. IMHO people like Jason Isbell and John Moreland are the music scenes most interesting songwriters these days - so I really like Aurora's folky approach here.

  • @dlbwoodbury
    @dlbwoodbury 2 месяца назад +2

    I don’t think AURORA would ever use the word “brand” to describe her work. IMHO, this cheapens her.
