Swami Avimukteshwarananda, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath has slammed the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Kedarnath temple in New Delhi. When Kedarnath is in the Himalayas, how can it be also in Delhi, he asked, questioning the July 10 move of Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Priests at Kedarnath temple had staged a protest on Sunday against the ceremony in Delhi.

No issue in Kedarnath Temple in Delhi, I am from Odisha there are numerous Jagannath Temples across the world not just India, in New York, Chicago, Moscow, Sydney ,Los Angeles , Canada ,Dubai,London, Durban etc within India in Delhi , West Bengal etc but we arent getting insecure about it, faith and religion is meant for spiritual expansion , In Rath Yatra probably its the only religious event where foreigners come to Puri in huge no. Not NRIs but foreigners ,they celebrate it outside India as well. Dont know why Sankracharya getting political about it is he in charge of Chardham I dont think Sankaracharya is empowered to speak on behalf of Temples they are at most chief of Mathas nothing more, eg- Puri Sankaracharya is kept miles away from Jagannath Temple Management ,he has no role in functioning and rules of temples.

Kashmir Shaivism of Abhinavagupta Tantric Shaivism or Shaivism at Odisha I respect every religion and sects Shaivism Vaishnavism but kindly don't teach Shaivism to The Land of Lingaraj Bhubaneswar , the city of Temples which has its name after Tribhubaneswar- Shiva. 1st learn the basic texts of school of Sanatana before talking like a 1st grader- that's Jagannath Sanskruti not Vaishnavism in particular , Vaishnavism is a broad term very broad just as Shaivism ,shaivism is a broad term.
How can a Sankaracharya comment on Temples specially Chardham or Jyotirlinga ? its purely upto temple management chief priest etc you probably haven't read basic texts of Advaita - Brahmasutrabhasya or Upadeshasahasri of Shiromani Acharya Adi Shankaracharya the edifice on which Mathas of Sankaracharyas is built including Puri Sankaracharya Matha , that's my contention. Jai Jagannath Jai Hind.

@sathyas5354 precisely my point any contention can only be brought forward by the followers not backed by pol. parties either ruling or opposition , it was Jyotirmath Sankaracharya who was giving statements wrt Kedarnath but he has no locus standi therefore I made this point. I am a strong believer govt (irrespective of parties) should let temples manage its funds and way of functioning as per tradition provided it fulfills the law of land.
