I love cloud surfing, it's rare since I can only do that in the morning when fog is lifting and condensing into small low lying clouds and my bird is limited to 500m.
I know in the Litchi App End of last year there was NOT a Max on the Altitude. It was added in there but I had that same app and there were no Max on the altitude.

Hello i have a drone too phantom 3 advanced but i wouldnt do this cause there is a low chance you can get back to land after reaching the clouds cause there you can lose signal and battery voltage its dangerous for me.

As many have already said. It is videos like this that build a case against drone users for legislation. In the UK the CAA do watch youtube and videos are followed up. I work for a commercial UAV company and a helicopter pilot, the CAA now have a confidential phone number to report both people operating commercially without a licence and those who are putting others in danger. Flying at 3200ft you may be very unlucky to hit a commercial airliner but you are right at the height that many light aircraft use, especially with cloud cover. I realise that making these points is probably useless, if you are willing to fly that high and BVLOS then you're not going to let a youtube comment influence you. It will however, be a sad day a drone brings down a light aircraft from something like this and the pilot faces the consequences.
What are the odds? The drone is a foot high by a foot wide. An aircraft would have to be flying at that exact altitude and spot and that exact moment in time. It's like winning the lottery if it's not in a known flight path.
Thought you only need a licence for the act of drone flight for commercial use ie earning money. Where being licensed (at cost) takes all the fun out of flying. I live where there are no flights or airports. Its a good video, but DJI put a lock on maximum height of 500 meters.

Michael Lewis not 100% True in fact I have went over 1000 feet with my phantom 3 standard no mods no extra antenna I simply watched a RUclips video that showed me how to press return to home after reaching Max altitude & immediately press up on the left control stick & it will climb non stop
Let's get to the point its a nice view up there but if we keep braking the law dji will probably say stuff us drone flyers and put more restrictions on what we can do on our drones on further firmware updates and we don't really want that now do we all???
i have to agree with this great view very kool but also reckless if a police or air ambulance or any plane or heli hit that it could cause death this is why there is a test and a drone reg now but still a very kool vid.

i wouldn’t consider most of them “trolls”. they’re people who are concerned that a drone could interfere with an airliner whether that be physically or not. it has happened before. a drone was at an altitude it shouldn’t have been at and an aircraft had a close call or straight up struck it. sure, the footage obtained is cool, but sinking an airliner into the ground killing hundreds and costing millions isn’t.

You know, drones get flown in other countries as well, without the FAA regulations and maybe "those" people would like to know how to fly to the maximum altitude possible. "The government" isn't applicable everywhere.
The government might not be, but planes are applicable everywhere. Even in places where they don't normally fly the mere fact that they can bypass in that location is a risk of killing a lot of people for the sake of some cloud footage.
Nick ..... not every body who is leaving comments live in Dublin. The United States has different regulations. In other places, the hight limit is 50 feet if the drone weighs under 1kg. Drones 1kg+ must be registered but not in the us unless it’s for non recreational.

Birds dont pose as much danger because their bones are not made of metal. A plane turbine engine is under enough stress as it is due to the huge centrific forces of rotation. The blades can cut trough bone but when they get into contact with harder materials like aluminum or steel (drone motors, heat sinks, frame componints etc) the entire equasion goes out of balance. The turbine blades can break and cause further damage to the engine. It really is putting people's lives at risck.. however small it may be! Its enough that one idiot causes a plane crash (and gets sent to guantanamo) to screw up the entire drone industry and all of us. Be smart people!!! ...or be dumb and get restricted!
the FAA regulations are just suggested rules, only local law enforcement can enforce those regulations. For me, the local LEO's looooooove them some drones
