Earlier Tilde got a freaking JV4 and the crowd was as silent as a morgue. The crowd deserved that at the end, idk what the hell is wrong with them. Great set regardless, both played very well.

They are both great players, the start of game four shows they both took the "turbulence" the crowd introduced in good stride. First time I enjoyed watching "camping" because of how tense it was, good game.

Honestly the win is much deserved, playing Falco is hard, he's slow, slow projectile that is super punishable and most of the time you don't have to worry about lasers since they only do 3 percent, his strings aren't easy to do like his drag downs. Try all that shit online. Best Falco specialist out here. Good shit
I mean, gotta disagree with you, falco is pretty easy both online and offline. He has arguably the best fair in the game, amazing up tilt, the lazer is a great way to set up phantasm. Yeah, his up air to back air combos aren’t easy, but I think what you’re trying to say is that playing falco at Tilde’s level is hard. That’s true, but falco legitimately has combos that anyone can do with a very minor amount of practice.
@@maxwellsaponara1140 lasers are negative on hit, falco's fair is trash and very punishable, even if you drift back with fair most characters at top level can punish that easy. Idk if you're watching smash because lasers don't lead into phantasm 😂. Falco is hard to play at mid to high level where lasers aren't effective in neutral. Successful Falco players gotta out play and commit to the win.
@@otreblarazalas669 falco lazers pressure characters like snake to hold down. They can’t be hit by lazers anymore, but they can be hit by phantasm. When did I ever say that lazers would combo into phantasm? Never. I said set up. And it’s true, that’s what falco players use. And then when people start shielding you can go up and grab.
And… ??? If you don’t understand how broken fair is you must think this character is hard to play, because you have no brain. It is a drag down both into the ground and onto platforms, kill move at around 150 off stage (right after the window where falco can kill with a up tilt to back air), it has a landing hitbox that hits on both sides of the move, and puts you in low profile for a second. It’s amazing both as a way to defend ledge getups and attacking from jumping off of ledge. When you use it on a shield you can drift back and get away relatively easily, (watch tilde use this move in neutral, fairing a shield then drifting back to hold shield) or move through the other person’s shield to cross up into a mix up. It can gimp some recoveries with the weak hits, for example Roy. It knocks someone down leading into a tech chase at ZERO PERCENT.
Arguably no other move is as versatile. Try to argue with me here, fair is broken for all of what it can do.
@@maxwellsaponara1140 even as a setup it's still not a thing. Not even a mixup, lasers > phantasm (maybe?) No. His fair is easy to deal with. If you're getting hit with the landing hitbox just shield, even if they drift back it's still punishable. It is used for drag downs but with sdi which is very common at top level you can get out of that loop. Some of his setups are mu dependant too which is why you don't see a lot of players doing it often. Best fair in the game goes to Bowser since that hits behind him from below and above and that move is a huge disjoint. Falco is hard to play because he is slow af. His up tilt may do a lot for him but even then it's risky up close, fast fall nair mixup is risky, approaching with fair is risky and unsafe (shiek, falcon, cloud or anyone with a fast burst option can easily punish). His fast fall nair can be shielded and grabbed. You can even grab him from his phantasm. His up throw and down throw can be butchered with proper smash di to avoid the laser. His down throw to drag down can be di down and away to avoid the fair. A lot of his moves are super risky and have low reward, pair that with his weight, run speed and lack of burst options and his linear recovery he can easily be shut down. A lot of his strings are hard to pull off, drag downs aren't easy to pick up, you gotta know which direction your up air will send your opponent at low percents, can't really tech chase without using phantasm sometimes. It's not easy to do Falco stuff especially at top level
@@otreblarazalas669 yeah, we agree that falco at tilde’s level is hard- I actually tried to correct you in my first comment where I suggested you mean that at tilde’s level he’s hard. But saying that falco is hard just because he’s slow doesn’t make any sense. For example, sheik is fast af but she’s hard as hell, because her setups take technical merit (other than the uptilt nair shit lol). Up air strings that are true are hard, yes because it’s at tilde’s level. In this pro game I doubt that Larry lurr’s falco would be able to beat Apollo kage’s snake, because no one is able to do the same things that tilde can. Are you saying that the skill ceiling for falco is way up there, yes definitely he has a high ceiling. But saying that falco is a hard character when literally anyone who’s seen a falco combo can downair someone then up tilt then up air into up air with literally no practice, just knowing how to fast fall and use tilts, that doesn’t mean he’s hard. It means that the person who instead of the EASY STUFF does the rar up air to up air back air combos are really good. And uhhhh yeah bowser hits everywhere but that’s also unsafe I’m pretty sure and you can’t drift back so- not the best example if what you’re going for is that falco fair isn’t safe. But im betting we can both agree that falco is extremely easy to pick up with his custom combos (when he is compared to any other “difficult character”, I.e. marth, wii fit trainer, or bayo with actual difficult setups). Falco is easy, but playing optimally with him is hard. That’s why you still see Larry lurr and tilde do fairs with fade backs with out being punished every time. Sure you can get into the “because it’s unsafe on paper” it has to be unsafe 100% of the time, or you can see that most of the times that falco approaches with fair he doesn’t get hit. Yeah he isn’t mashing fair, it’s not as safe as a byleth nair, but you don’t see bowser mashing fair either. Fair is super good, which is why you see it, a lot. Yeah as an approach option it’s not always used but you don’t see a lot of bowsers approaching with fair either. But it’s not just an approach option, it has a bajillion other uses, as I explained. Falco is hard at top level, as is byleth. But it doesn’t make byleth down smash or falco fair any less good, they’re still used despite being able to be easily punished.
I just need to point out how awkward these 2 are as commentators. Individually they’re both great. I love lyric just for entertainment purposes, great energy. The way they keep disagreeing on things and messing up their game knowledge though… there’s just not cohesion.
AK outplayed Tilde most of this set tbh. He approached most of the time and held stage control for the majority of this set too. Idk, these people cappin' and simping in these comments just because Tilde ended up winning Riptide.

Yes the crowd was Toxic. Glad you agree. Be there for your player, by all means. After the set. It is rude to the other participant. Plus it can mess with your players head and that's also super shitty. This tournament stuff is already exhausting, they don't need any extra mental stress.
