An excellent demonstration! Last time I practiced this was about 40 years ago, lol... Last time I used it on the street it was 36 years ago. It worked like a charm...
I live in Japan and most Japanese judoka would consider uchimata the strongest judo throw. It's applicable at all weight classes and almost all of the Japanese team has an uchimata in their arsenal.
While I would agree that Uchimata is the most common. I don't think it's the strongest in the terms of the throw you can generate the most power or force with. Uchimata is a technical throw where as a Seoi Nage can really be forced and driven to a finish.
Could we have videos of some of your randori, with you talking us through it... I think people would get a lot out of your entries footwork and gripping etc
I always look forward to these instructionals. You have a great way of breaking down these moves. Highly technical and yet very simple instructions. Thank you!
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Anders Gabriel i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Travis, what I like to do is when I step across wihit the right foot, I put my weight on it and push back into the position . I use my arms to do a spiral force only, letting the pushing work to my legs.
So many great details here I've never been taught, unfortunately. Just to get it straight though. Once you're in throwing position, you want a curled, strong wrist correct? Also, will you have your DVDs for sale at the NY judo open coming up?
No sorry I wont have my DVD's for sale at the event but you can find them online at www.judofanatics.com or www.bjjfanatics.com. I also have a discount code you can use on any dvd purchase on those sites. As for the technique goes yes you want a strong wrist when you're throwing.
Really good video, but some other stuff should be shown - I mean uchi-comi, it's impossible to get the throw properly without it. And proper Tori's feet position should be mentioned, as well as relaxation while coming inside and proper core. But video is good for sure - thanks❤
"High on the collar", Now I know what to yell at my kiddo's when they get lazy and tired during Randori. Aside from "Don't be lazy" ;0) I know John Danaher talks about how you competed at high levels in different kinds of grappling matches. With all that experience, I always wonder what you would create as a rule set for a grappling tournament? Just curious?
This is a flip bud, not a throw. Throw, pitch, or fling, especially to throw lightly or carelessly”, and it's usually understood that you would toss something underhand. To flip something, or someone, would imply that you are turning something over onto an opposite side.

Amazing 👍👍💪💪👊👊🥊🥊🥋🥋
Is this dangerous if leading into Bjj? Would dropping be better?

Do you step into the triangle as you pull up or when you ready to throw?
I don't fully understand your question sorry.

Thats actually a great topic! Maybe I should make a video on it.
Travis Stevens I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
@@TravisStevensgrappling Please do! Would be very interested in your take on it.
How can i do it with nogi
Abood Amer grab the tricep instead of the collar with the right hand.
Works a bit different and is a bit harder to pull off in nogi
This is not possible in NOGI you should try Ippon Seoi Nage instead.
you must have come here from the joe bro rogan crowd >.>
See ogoshi
I always assumed their strongest throw was the Uchi Mata.
That might be their most popular but not the strongest. Two different things.
Screams ippon loudly.

hi
So beautiful.
A georgian guy broke 3 ribs of mine with morote! F@ck yeah🤙🤙🤙😂😂😂😂
Thats a serious throw.
First
Best self defense technique: first, put the victim in traditional japanese garb
This isn't for self defense tho. It's for Judo
Its always funny to see how an American teach Seoinage. The worst seoinage I have seen so far.
Can you translate the names into English? Many of your viewers are American not Japanese.
