I tried this method today. Omg My curls came out perfect. Thank you sooooo much for sharing. I wish I could show you pictures. You have changed the game for me.
This tutorial honestly changed my life. I grew up with a single, white mom who had no idea how to do black hair. I hated oils, mousse didn't do anything and gel was always crunchy and created a ton of shrinkage. She always used the Pink styling creme, which I also hated. She really tried but needless to say, I dumped traditional hair products and stuck to moisturizers and conditioners growing up. I have never been able to get definition. Thank you for making this video. Until this video I, like many others, have spent lots of money on hair products and time watching other videos. Thank you!!!
The onlyyyy cream I've ever used that will clump my curls is Creme Of Nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme. I think it's a hybrid of cream and gel. It's my hidden gem!
You inspired me to take my crochets out, and love on my hair! I’m loving your makeup tutorials. Thank you, Carmen for your amazing videos and your transparency.
Thank you! You gave me the courage to cut my locs after 18 years. They were down to my butt and Thursday I cut them off except for around 5 inches just so I can do these styles. Thank you for helping me make the change I've been wanting. Peace and blessings!
Your hair and makeup are gorgeous! Natural hair really is a journey. I'm in the middle of wash day (chore) and was thinking of flat ironing my hair because this is so hard! Watching you has persuaded me to stay on the journey and keep trying for defined coils. Thank you!
You all probably dont care but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
I wanted to be able to work with my curl pattern without having to do twist outs. Thanks to your recommendations and cut I cut my hair to get rid of damage and I love it.
I just cut off my waist length locs and I'm starting my natural journey! You have the EXACT same type of hair I seem to have, combo of 4a-b in the front with some 4c mainly in the back, and high porosity! Even down to how your edges lay (I've been trying to figure out how to lay them properly around my widows peak and the way you did it--I'm definitely following suit!). Thanks fo making this video!
3yrs ago but this still looks like a good method. I’ve tried finger coils, not for me, but I like her clumping of curls. I don’t mind the hard hold on day one it’s usually gone by day2 without use an oil and I have shine.
Love this!!! I’m 4 type as well and I didn’t think our hair type could pop like this! I may try this on a day when I’m not lazy lol and have plenty of time to try this!
I know I am 3 years late but this is beautiful. I wish you would have showed how you got it to stand up since you say you don’t pick you hair at the roots. I asked because you curled and dried it down and you come back with it standing up and looking beautifully amazing
I never leave comments BUT you look amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I just turned 50 and COVID got me crazy...gone natural and I think I have a similar curl pattern. Excited to try!!! Thank you
2/14/2022 Update: I CUT MY HAIR ON SATURDAY 2/12/2022 and I totally love it. I've only done one style... finger coils. I'm going to take them down and do some other styles like shingling and two-strand twists. It's Tapered in the back and low on the sides, slightly longer on the top. My hubby doesn't know yet as he works out of town, and I wanted to get used to it and have time to play around with it. But like I said I love it. I loved it from the moment I finished cutting it and I'm glad I made this decision to finally cut my badly damaged hair! Hi, another beautiful hair video. Every time I look at your hair after wash I feel like we're natural twinsies. With the exception, I'm Low Porosity (my hair has major shrinkage, it always looks dry even when it's freshly moisturized, takes forever to dry, and as my mom used to say it sucks up everything). I want to cut it so bad. My hubby was against it but recently after harassing him so much he's like whatever man.... lol. Seeing your hair gives me a little more confidence. I've shingled my hair a few times and loved it. I know it would look great if I did it on short hair. Have to decide if I'm gonna cut it or go to a Pro. Sigh, lol... what to do, what to do?
So glad I ran across this video! I've been natural for a year, and have been struggling with my curly hair. I usually only wear it in a "poof ball" and was contemplating going back to the relaxer. Definitely gonna try this tomorrow!
I have been natural for over a year but I was pressing my hair. Since the closed schools because of COVID-19 I decided to start wearing it curly to get use to it. One of my problems is morning hair. Could you video what you do in the morning to maintain your style?
One of my favorite products is The Mane Choice Tropical Moringa Daily Restorative Spray! Very moisturizing and gives hair amazing shine! Right now it's at Sally's for 25% off
Try misting it with water, ensuring all of your hair is wet, then lightly flick all over with the sides of your hands. My curls bounce right back. I have 4c hair.
I'm so glad you mentioned ☺️ a wash and go is not that easy. I need to set time for my hair especially finger coiling and finding the right products. I thought I was low porosity but nope I'm high porosity and water bottles are really needed. I love your hair the tutorials are awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 .
the "other" shingling methods seem so drawn out, extra. your video is straight to the point which gives me confidence that I can do this because whenever I do my own hair I end up looking like Charlie Murphy. great video!
mzz c your welcome ❤️😊, I mean I know some naturals it may work but not all. It does not clump/plump my curls together, moisturize yes, but not control the frizz for a defined look.
I recently cut my hair to your length, trying to get it healthier. So I am loving your tutorial. It really helped to give me another way to style it. Thanks #beautifulbeyondcompare
Your hair is beautiful and so are you. Thank you for this video. I have a combination of 4B and 4C hair and you can't see my curls unless up close. I certainly will try what your method.
I'm so inspired by your videos. I'm at that place of frustration and not believing that I can get curls of any kind. but I'm going to try the brown gel too. thanks,
Thanks for explaining so well and most of all, for actually saying what your hair type is! I watch so many of these & many don’t really say what their hair type is so I have to guess. Love you gorgeous curls sis! ❤
Thank you so much. I am definitely going to try this. I did the wash n go where you separate the hair and twirl with your fingers. Waaaay to much. I love this🥰🥰🥰 you're gorgeous!!!
Girl YESSSS💞💞💞 This Transformation Was "EVERYTHING" got me like 😮 "This Is What I Want" I'm fixing to go purchase this stuff and save this Video because I need this style A.S.A.P You popped then the makeup (I for sure dont know how to do but Lawd its Amazing)
Abena Enyimayew Arthur yay! I’m so happy to hear that! 🙌🏾 it’s just takes time to sit down and really try and learn your own hair. Took me 8 years to figure out that I could do it too. ❤️
I tried exactly what you do, and the ends of my hair don’t curl. I’ve been natural for 3 1/2 years, but at least every three months, I flatiron my hair. It looks so much better, and it’s easier to camouflage my uneven hair growth. Are use great heat protectant’s, and do it very seldom. That had to be it. My plan is to trim my own hair and see if that helps.
I tried this method today. Omg My curls came out perfect. Thank you sooooo much for sharing. I wish I could show you pictures. You have changed the game for me.
OMG!!! I'm going to try this! You gave me some natural hope!

I'm also cutting mine after 7 1/2 yrs super excited to enhance my curls too.
I just love your hair, makeup, soothing voice and the fact you get right to the point!! Thank you.
Toni thank you 😊❤️💋
Yes. Her voice is very soothing.
Yes I love that she gets right to the point & always so beautiful
@@nichellesuperville844 Yes!
Yes I'm wanting to know what ladhrs are you wearing.
I have always wondered how you got your hair to stand up so well. I’d love to see your diffusing method in a video.
Same here! She makes me want to cut my hair! Lol
Thank you for that tutorial. Most of the natural women with bobs or layered cuts straighten their hair. I don’t want that for myself. This helped!
Your hair and makeup are gorgeous! Natural hair really is a journey. I'm in the middle of wash day (chore) and was thinking of flat ironing my hair because this is so hard! Watching you has persuaded me to stay on the journey and keep trying for defined coils. Thank you!
yea thatsss me having to flat iron mine to go to school cause it shrinksss alott
That style is really beautiful on you. And your makeup...absolutely gorgeous! Always good to see your videos.
We need this make-up look though!!! FIYAH🔥
I’m here for the make up too! I saw the thumbnail like *swoon* Her makeup is BOMB
You all probably dont care but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Gorgeous! I can't wait to try. How do you protect the style while you sleep? I wear the satin cap but my style always gets flatten.
Same! I never have a good 2nd hair day. Hair is always flat/frizzy.
Girl you are saving lives.....Because I was gonna cut my hair. Now Im gonna try this technique. You saved two years of Growth!!!1
I recently cut my locs off and my hair is styled this way so this helped me learn how to section it while defining my curls. Ty
I wanted to be able to work with my curl pattern without having to do twist outs. Thanks to your recommendations and cut I cut my hair to get rid of damage and I love it.
That’s awesome!! 😍

I just cut off my waist length natural hair too now to a medium length twa due to some heat damage. I love her technique!
3yrs ago but this still looks like a good method. I’ve tried finger coils, not for me, but I like her clumping of curls. I don’t mind the hard hold on day one it’s usually gone by day2 without use an oil and I have shine.

Sonji Brown yes! I thought so as well! ❤️ but find what really helps define and clump your curls together, don’t touch until it’s dry
Lynnette's Silhouettes ok and you said diffuse hair while bending over for volume right?
finally found someone with hair that behaves and looks just like mine ,im so happy
Loved this hairstyle ❤️❤️❤️ Great tutorial that gets to the point without being 30 minutes long.
I know I am 3 years late but this is beautiful. I wish you would have showed how you got it to stand up since you say you don’t pick you hair at the roots. I asked because you curled and dried it down and you come back with it standing up and looking beautifully amazing
I too, would like to see how she achieved the height.
Your hair is everything as my daughter says. I am learning so much about my natural hair journey thank you so much❤❤
I really don’t like to wear my natural hair out but you really give me the courage to start trying natural hairstyles ☺️
I never leave comments BUT you look amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I just turned 50 and COVID got me crazy...gone natural and I think I have a similar curl pattern. Excited to try!!! Thank you
It’s beautiful! I recently cut my long locs off… so your video is inspiring me to do this with my short locs!
UGH!!! Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous and your makeup is everything
That lipstick is giving me life! I'm a lazy 4b-c I don't do hours. I literally wash and my leave- in to get curls . Her hair looks cute.
That final look is gorgeous!!!⭐️⭐️

So beautiful! Curls are poppin'! Make-up is FIYAH! ❣️❣️❣️❣️
So glad I ran across this video! I've been natural for a year, and have been struggling with my curly hair. I usually only wear it in a "poof ball" and was contemplating going back to the relaxer. Definitely gonna try this tomorrow!
Yass! I just big chopped and it’s growing back so I need something else to do with my hair. Going to be trying this next wash day!
Wow !!!This is truly the power of makeup!!!!
I have been natural for over a year but I was pressing my hair. Since the closed schools because of COVID-19 I decided to start wearing it curly to get use to it. One of my problems is morning hair. Could you video what you do in the morning to maintain your style?

Ty for saying the moisturizer cream doesn't plump your curls cuz I thought i was doing something wrong!!! I'm trying this on Saturday!
mzz c your welcome ❤️😊, I mean I know some naturals it may work but not all. It does not clump/plump my curls together, moisturize yes, but not control the frizz for a defined look.
