Not a kpop fan, only know BTS from BBMA . Based on this and other performances, I can see and understand why their fan base is so ginormous and so loyal.
bts came from a very small company that almost went bankrupt. They started from nothing. They got no promotions whatsoever. They even used their managers' cars just to make a music video back then. Many criticized them and told them that they will never make it. But because of their hardwork, lyrical genius skills, dedication, love for their fans, and teamwork, they are now on top and they deserve it. They beat many groups from TOP agencies because people relate to their songs ( songs bout how to survive depression, bullying,political issues, how to feel confident, etc.) They sleep only in one bedroom in their 1st years as artist. They even went to the streets just to iinvite people to their concert for FREE. But now they soldout in mins. Daebak. They actually cured my depression and many ARMYs' too. There is no other group out there like them that literally started from scratch without any resources readily available, write and produce their own songs, and are lyrically genius. (Checkout also ddaeng as explained by a korean, cypher 4, anpanman, 2 3, spring day, fire, dope, save me)
Okay So I just joined ARMY a month ago and since then I’ve been binge watching every performance, interview and video and I can’t get enough of those 7 ughhh they make my heart happy
I really think they put the best perfofmance there is to exist. They sing, dance, act and they have an amazing team behind them: stylist, creographers and a very creative and visually astonishing stage (that intro was mind blowing), as well as innovative, deep, well integrated and society relevant concepts. All of those things combined result on a beautiful huge art creation that, in my opinion, is much more than just music.
this proves that BTS is truly beyond K-POP. They did steal so many hearts of American audience at AMAs and the backbone of it is because of their quality performance before everything else. They are one of a kind, not only overseas but also on the kpop scene. Not every KPOP artist can pull off a performance like this. I was watching from the beginning and no group's energy and stage presence come close to BTS.

Almost 2 months ago I was like "oh BTS, I don't get it" to my friends, though here I am 2 months later almost freaking crying because I'm so damn proud of them - I love them so much
I was there and oh my god it was amazing, I'm a hardcore EXO-L and my best friend is a hardcore ARMY, and we saw so many EXO-Ls doing the chants for the BTS' songs and viceversa and that made me so happy. As usual BTS slayed, GOD IT WAS SO AMAZING THANK YOU BTS. Also congrats to them for artist of the year! Much deserved!!

i watched the whole mama awards live and i was absolutely blown away by all the performances that i kept running around the house screaming for joy. but by far, there’s something about bts’ performance thats really special. i’m not just saying this because they’re my favourite group, but it’s just my opinion. all the special effects they used in their 20minute or so performance...blew me away. their amazing live singing, rapping, dancing and facial expressions brought this legendary performance together. i don’t care what anyone says - I believe this is one of the best performances from them ever (and I’ve been to their wings tour concert!!) good luck for 2018! army will always be behind you, cheering for you, loving you, appreciating you! we are so blessed to have bts spreading love and inspiration to the world. congratulations on your awards! best asian style in hong kong, best music video, and artist of the year (but it’s more like century HAHAH) love☺️

For those who don’t understand the hype, I get it-I get it! Not knowing BTS and suddenly seeing them all over the place can be confusing. “They’re just like any other boy band” “they dance and sing? So does Chris Brown” etc. Well, just like any other performer they have a story that is unique to them. Being in the Kpop industry under the circumstances they were in, led most (even the members themselves) to believe they couldn’t make it. For Kpop, what BTS were doing was too risky. Honest lyrics about mental illness and societal pressures, being active and open on social media, being truly and genuinely themselves; all of this was somewhat new to the genre. ARMY hype them up so much because we’ve seen the shit they’ve been through, and to see that we helped them grow from rookies to artists is a feat that we will never let go. Please, If you can, look into their story!

i watched the whole mama awards live and i was absolutely blown away by all the performances that i kept running around the house screaming for joy. but by far, there’s something about bts’ performance thats really special. i’m not just saying this because they’re my favourite group, but it’s just my opinion.
all the special effects they used in their 20minute or so performance...blew me away. their amazing live singing, rapping, dancing and facial expressions brought this legendary performance together.
i don’t care what anyone says - I believe this is one of the best performances from them ever (and I’ve been to their wings tour concert!!)

They have stage presence and great charisma👌 ...not only that but since pre-debut they were never about being better than others they always were competing against there inner demons and so what they lacked the other members would complete and so the strength of this group is that they believed in each other which formed confidence since pr-debut days and to this day they have strong chemistry and a bond of family brotherhood that is just to strong to break ❤

For those who don’t understand the hype, I get it-I get it! Not knowing BTS and suddenly seeing them all over the place can be confusing. “They’re just like any other boy band” “they dance and sing? So does Chris Brown” etc. Well, just like any other performer they have a story that is unique to them. Being in the Kpop industry under the circumstances they were in, led most (even the members themselves) to believe they couldn’t make it. For Kpop, what BTS were doing was too risky. Honest lyrics about mental illness and societal pressures, being active and open on social media, being truly and genuinely themselves; all of this was somewhat new to the genre. ARMY hype them up so much because we’ve seen the shit they’ve been through, and to see that we helped them grow from rookies to artists is a feat that we will never let go. Please, If you can, look into their story!
