If you say anything they don't like, they actually believe that they have the right to harm you. On the right, we fight for everyone to have the right to be free, even those who disagree with us. Speech, unless it directly incites violence, is an important part of our society, and needs to be protected. What must happen is for the left to take a class on decency. I came here when I was 19, and eventually became a US citizen. This country gave me all the opportunities one can have. I supported myself for awhile, working and going to school at the same time. I have been an RN for 20 years now and living comfortably. Just work hard, and you can attain anything you want and aspire. I love this country, the land of free and opportunity. I used to confront those clowns in LA. Che shirts were very popular and few knew who it was, let alone what it represented. I think there is a decent size Cuban population in LA and I asked one who just said, 'it's disgusting.' So much ignorance. I've asked things like, 'do you know who that is?' I asked one young woman protesting in Santa Monica what fascism was since it was all over her sign. She didn't even come close to the definition, saying something about patriotism or something. US education has failed.
Agreed. People who genuinely want positive change and genuinely believe that what they're doing is moral don't typically hide themselves. On the flipsyde though, knowing that what you're saying/doing could get you harmed or arrested would also make someone want to hide their face. However, the fact that they have - from the very beginning - been extremely opposed to being recorded or giving any statements on anything settles it for me. That's not how protesting against something works, lol... The whole point of a protest is to increase awareness about the things you believe to be bad as well as what you believe to be the solutions, so I find it hard to believe THEY even (fully) believe they're the good guys.

I think there is a decent size Cuban population in LA and I asked one who just said, 'it's disgusting.' So much ignorance. I've asked things like, 'do you know who that is?' I asked one young woman protesting in Santa Monica what fascism was since it was all over her sign. She didn't even come close to the definition, saying something about patriotism or something. US education has failed.

Agreed. People who genuinely want positive change and genuinely believe that what they're doing is moral don't typically hide themselves. On the flipsyde though, knowing that what you're saying/doing could get you harmed or arrested would also make someone want to hide their face. However, the fact that they have - from the very beginning - been extremely opposed to being recorded or giving any statements on anything settles it for me. That's not how protesting against something works, lol... The whole point of a protest is to increase awareness about the things you believe to be bad as well as what you believe to be the solutions, so I find it hard to believe THEY even (fully) believe they're the good guys.

She used to post stories about BLM and I came to talk to her but she refused and said that if I don't like what she's posting I should unfollow her, and I was like, "woah, I just wanted to talk." What's scaring me even more is that she works as a teacher, and if a teacher is unwilling to hear others ideas and opinions then it'll be a catastrophe.
